Am I a total sap for hoping it's not Hailey, but something that would lead to her being found alive? Probably.
As much as we would all like her to be alive and well, this doesn't look like it will come out that way. Both of you stated as much in the cast. I do hope they find her no matter what. The others involved need answers!

Annddd of course, we knew this would happen:

Billie Dunn's No Trespassing Order Doesn't Mean Shit

Just a few days after the mother of Hailey Dunn claimed to have cut off ties with her former boyfriend and the only named suspect in her daughter's disappearance, law enforcement says the pair met in Scurry County over the weekend. Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs says his investigators have learned Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins met up in Snyder on Saturday evening.
On Friday, Dunn revealed she filed a protective order that would keep Adkins off her property. Toombs confirmed the filing took place but says this hasn't kept the pair from meeting elsewhere.

I am almost sure I predicted this on the air last night. DERP.

I would do a happy dance if she's found hiding out somewhere, safe and sound, having run away because she was fed up with the shitty life she had to live, but I think she was killed the day she went missing. I would love to be wrong though. I just can't believe dumb as a box of hair Billie and porn dog Shawn could dispose of her body so well that experts and dogs haven't found it after three months.

Do any of you entertain the awful thought that Hailey might be on some of the cp cops found? Maybe I just have a dirty mind, but as soon as news of the porn was made public, that was my first thought. It hasn't been mentioned anywhere I've read, unless I missed it.

I forgot to thank Imp and Morbid for the podcast, it was wonderful to have the case reviewed and summarized in one sitting. Thank you both, and Imp didn't sound like a tire hissing...hardly at all. Did I hear a southern accent coming from Morbid's pie-hole? Maybe I smoked too much. I thought he was a yankee.

Just a heads up -

I'm being told that right now, there are some 20 troopers in the grass near I-20 between CCity and Sweetwater. It appears they're looking for something specific. If anything is found, I'll be updating the case.

Am I a total sap for hoping it's not Hailey, but something that would lead to her being found alive? Probably.

Annnd... nope. Turns out they're reconstructing an accident scene. Damn. Or good, depending on how you look at it.

I apologies for #1,if this has been posted already and #2 for posting this in the 1st place, I guess this is some of what Shawn's was into....

That is a slide show made by Corey Norwood, Shawn Adkins' cousin. It is very disturbing, especially the photo of Shawn holding the knife and whatever that is in his hand. Truly chilling. The music is awful too. The few times I've played this video, my pets have responded as though a predator they were terrified suddenly appeared inches away from them (and I am serious).

Hailey's Mother Hires Attorney, No Longer Speaking to Media
Monday, 2:15 p.m. Update:
According to the Snyder Daily News, an entry on the blotter at the Scurry County Law Enforcement Center Sunday afternoon stated a woman called and asked to speak to an officer on the telephone in reference to both Dunn and Adkins being together at the caller’s residence looking for someone.

The officer responding stated there was not a vehicle at the location and no contact was made.

Monday, 2 p.m. Update:
Billie Dunn tells KRBC's Jessica Reyes she has hired an attorney and is no longer able to speak with the media.

Dunn was scheduled to do an interview with Reyes at 3 p.m Monday and canceled.

Billie Dunn files Restraining Order

After being arrested Friday on charges of hindering police investigators and possession of drugs, Billie Dunn â mother of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn â has filed a protective order against former live-in boyfriend Shawn Adkins.

Dunn made the announcement she had filed a “no trespassing” order against Adkins shortly after being released from custody following her arrest on charges of hindering apprehension and prosecution, possession of dangerous drugs and making a false report to police officers. All three charges are misdemeanors.

According to officials involved in the investigation, members of the Texas Rangers were attempting to serve a search warrant on the only person of interest in the case — Billie Dunn's former live-in boyfriend, Shawn Adkins — when Dunn allegedly lied about his whereabouts.

This is irrelevant, but when has that stopped me? I finally realized what has been nagging me about Billie's photos. Her head and face remind me of the way the "grey aliens" are depicted in drawings and especially in the new movie Rango! She looks like an upside down teardrop. Obviously, she is an alien.

LE held a press conference last Wednesday, March 30th, and confirmed what we have all thought from the beginning. Pete Kampfer is the city manager.

"Law enforcement working the criminal side of the case has always been thinking along the lines Hailey was deceased or under duress," Kampfer said.

I think we all are of the same mind; I know that after the first few days I resigned myself to just hoping her remains would be found quickly.This caught my eye and gives me hope that this could be resolved soon;

"There are specific reasons why officials think Hailey is deceased,"

The reward was offered for her safe return and the successful prosecution of the person/s responsible; now it is for info on her whereabouts. Officials are considering upping the reward, possibly to six figures. For that amount of money I think any and all of the low lifes surrounding this case would roll over on their own mothers and kids; so I hope we hear something soon.

Kampfer said there is a "slim possibility" Hailey is under duress, since there is no proof she is deceased, but there is "reasonable" doubt she is still alive.

This is the kicker:
Hailey was last seen by Shawn Adkins, a former boyfriend of Hailey’s mother Billie Dunn.

Adkins is the only named suspect in the case and several search warrants for computers and digital devices to which he had access have been issued, although no charges have been filed against him.

Help Find Hailey Dunn - Missing From Texas ‎Patricia: The reason I'm asking is because I'm wondering if he filed before Hailey disappeared. If he did, and he was requesting primary custody of Hailey and for Billie to pay child support, that would be pretty suspicious.

Patricia Trichel it was a year ago that was all done.as for the filing it is going through county clerk office n no court date yet but said would be sometime this month.do not know all says but know custody of hailey will be decided by court when hailey comes home.

Help Find Hailey Dunn - Missing From Texas ‎Patricia: I understand what you are saying. I wish I could see the court document that were filed.

When a party with a minor child files for divorce, one of the matters that must be addressed is child custody, visitation and support.
What I am asking is what Clint requested on the court documents in respect to custody, visitation and support orders regarding Hailey. the date the documents were filed (and) what date were the documents served on Billie Jean Dunn.

You know, I'd like to just go down to Texas and slap Billie Dunn's ass around a bit until she tells where this child is. At first, I wanted to ask, "What kind of freakin mother is this woman?" But the facts of the case that are coming out prove clearly that she, in no way, shape or form, defines the word mother. She is totally self-absorbed and does not care one whit about about her daughter, missing or not.

I know that other members of the family have to have been participating in the raising of Hailey and she has to be one strong little girl to have been exposed to what she has been exposed to and to be as normal as she is as a child. I don't want to use the past-tense in talking about Hailey, but in my heart of hearts, I honestly believe that Hailey is no longer alive. I believe that Shawn Atkins killed her and it involved his child porn obsession, and I honestly and truly believe that her mother had something to do with it. If Billie did not actively participate in what happened to Hailey, she still KNOWS what happened and she has defended and covered for Shawn over and over.

I just wish that we could find out what happened and that justice can be brought for Hailey Dunn. That little girl deserves that much and so much more. Billie, you weren't there for her as a mother before. Woman up and be there for her now. Help bring her home and put her to rest, and let the person responsible for what happened to her pay for it. Come on.

Billie Dunn, the mother of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn, has taken a lot of heat over the disappearance of her daughter.

Now there's a Facebook page supporting her.

The new page called, Billie Dunn Innocent, recently popped up.

It aims to support Billie and keep attention on the search for Hailey.

It's unclear if Billie herself is behind the page or if it was created by a third party.

Hailey Dunn was last seen back on December 27th in Colorado City.

So far, no one has been charged in her disappearance.

UBBOCK,TX (KCBD) -
After 5 months and no sign of Hailey Dunn, investigators insist they're not giving up.

Hailey's grandmother, Connie Jones, says the family is torn apart as each day passes by without answers.

"It seems like 5 years, it's just dragging on," she said.

Authorities say leads have been less frequent in the past few weeks. "We made some good progress at the beginning, but leads have slowed down," said Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs.

Recently the reward money was bumped from $10,000 to $15,000. Colorado City City Manager Pete Kampfer says they received more calls when the reward changed. "There was a good pick up on tips. They've diminished quite a bit over the past couple of weeks," he said.

Previously busy volunteer search groups now post the date of their next effort in a window downtown. The next search is June 4th at 9:00 a.m.

"A lot of people say it's a cold case and it's no longer investigated," Toombs continued. "That's not true."

We asked Toombs about Hailey's mother's former boyfriend Shawn Adkins. "He's been described as a person of interest. That's what we'd call him as the primary person of interest in this case and that hasn't changed."

Neither Kampfer nor Toombs would use the word "suspect" in reference to Adkins.

Files containing child pornography and bestiality were found on a computer at Adkins' mother's home in Big Spring. Toombs explains why no one's been arrested.

"A lot of it has to do with the known people who use the computers and who used it at what time," he said.

Kampfer says it's in the hands of prosecution.

"That's strictly in prosecutors bailey wicks if they want to, based on the evidence, if they want to pursue prosecution," said Kampfer.

Toombs says Colorado City Police and the Mitchell County Sheriff's Department are still assisted by the FBI and Texas Rangers. He added that the criminal district attorney's office for Howard County, Mitchell County, and Scurry County were also assisting in the ongoing investigation.

"I feel like we're getting closer, it's just taking longer on some of these items," Toombs said.

Jones says the frustration from not having answers is breaking up her family. "Everybody is hurting. Nobody knows what to say to people," she said.

Jones is scared to leave her house. According to her, she's the only family member who hasn't changed her phone number since Hailey's disappearance.

For Toombs, not a day goes by that he doesn't think about the case. He asks for patience and insists that authorities haven't forgotten Hailey. "We're going to make sure we have a good case with a lot of evidence that we'll have at our disposal to convict someone," he said.

The joy of the last day of school in Colorado City was tinged with sadness Friday as teachers and students noted the absence of Hailey Dunn, who was reported missing Dec. 28.

Hailey, an eighth-grader at Colorado Middle School, likely would have been among the students newly inducted into the Honor Society who traveled to Abilene for a class outing last week, one of her teachers said.

"It just hit me while we were there (in Abilene) that she would have been with us," said Kristy Frizzell, Hailey's science teacher. "She was always eager and so smart and would do anything for you. It is just breaking my heart."

The halls of Colorado Middle School still were adorned with posters covered with poems, cards and photographs of the 13-year-old student.

A poster full of cards from students in Abilene and surrounding cities offered hope. "We are praying for your safe return," a card from Clack Middle School in Abilene reads.

"The cards went up not long after she went missing," said Kristy Lloyd, administrative assistant to the campus counselor.

Lloyd, who also is heading up the search for Hailey, said that over the past few months, students have pitched in by baby-sitting, holding car washes and selling T-shirts and bracelets — with proceeds going to help pay for the search effort and to start a scholarship in the girl's honor.

Upstairs on the third floor, a recently hung collage is covered with photos of Hailey, smiling with friends. Nearby is a poem written by a student titled "Trying to Find You."

The stars in the night sky

Look down, trying to find you.

Everyone is searching

Even those who never knew you ...

Your empty chair in the classroom

Is a cold reminder of the past couple of weeks

Thinking hopefully we'll find her ...

As everyone speculates

What is and isn't true

The stars in the night sky

Look down trying to find you ...

Posters beckoning for help in finding Hailey still hang on storefronts throughout Colorado City.

Billboards remind motorists to keep an eye out for her, but so far, no one has seen or heard from Hailey since she was reported missing by her mother, Billie Jean Dunn, three days after Christmas.

For the most part, residents say the pain felt since Hailey's disappearance is still there, though perhaps not as visible. Authorities have hinted that she could be deceased.

"The case has gone cold," said Jim Baum, former Colorado City mayor and owner of the KVMC/KAUM radio. "I don't hear anything on it — it is all mute."

But still there is hope that Hailey will be sitting in her first-period class on the first day of school in the fall. Although, of course, it would have been better if she had been found safe before school let out, her teacher said.

"It would have been good if we had ended on a good note," Frizzell said.

You know, it doesn't need to be said but Hailey Dunn is most likely dead. After all this time, there's no doubt in my mind. She was probably dead the day or night before she was even reported missing.

On Seamus O'Riley's site, Statement Analysis, the theory has been presented that Billie Dunn most likely walked in on a sex act between her boyfriend and Hailey. There was anger and probably fighting which ending in Hailey being killed. I don't think Billie Dunn went into it planning to kill Hailey, but something went horribly wrong and it happened. They had to hide the body, and because they were both involved, they are both covering for each other, even in secret b/c Billie has said that she's not seeing Shawn, which we know is a bald-faced lie. Neither of them can tell the truth without implicating the other, so they are at an impasse. I'm sure that there have been threats of physical violence. This is a family rife with drug abuse and physical violence. I would be surprised if it didn't involve it.

Unless someone stumbles over something, I don't think this case will be solved for a very long time, if ever. Billie, and most likely Shawn, will be in jail on some kind of charges but it won't be murder for a long time.

I'm in no way placing the blame on Hailey but you know, 13 now is way different than it was in the dark ages when I was a teenager. I was treated like the child I was and I didn't have boyfriends and I sometimes still played with my Barbie Dolls. I believe Hailey had a very different life. She was introduced to both drugs and sex at an early age and I believe that they will find that both were at the root of her demise.

I disagree. I don't think Hailey had any part in a relationship with her mom's b/f, but I agree they both know what happened to her.

Man, nothing on her. I feel bad because I had to scan the threads until her name rang a bell. I could not remember it I think because of all the cases I'm concerned about.

I guess the FBI and local sheriff couldn't agree on classification:

More than 10 months after her disappearance, Hailey Dunn's case has been classified as a kidnapping by the FBI.

Hailey was reported missing in Colorado City, Texas on Dec. 27, 2010.

http://www.kcbd.com/story/15643786/hailey-dunn-case-declared-kidnapping-by-dallas-fbi

The FBI may have made a mistake when it comes to missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn. Recently, the FBI put the 14-year-old on their website and listed her under kidnapped.

Newswest9 spoke to the Mitchell County Sheriff who told us it was a mistake. Hailey Dunn should not have been listed under kidnappings.

Instead she should've been under "missing person." The sheriff's office said the FBI will go back and fix the mistake.

From the end of August:

After eight months since Hailey Dunn's disappearance and after her 14th birthday has passed, some volunteers have questioned law enforcement's commitment in solving the case.
It's been eight months since Hailey went missing from Colorado City.
Billie Dunn, the mother of the missing teen, told authorities she was going to a friends house, but she never arrived.
The case caught national attention and for months law enforcement agencies and search volunteers have been on a quest to find Hailey.
Carrie McGonigle of Team Amber said, "There is seriously a lack of communication between the Colorado City PD, the Sheriff's Department and the Texas Rangers."
Colorado City Police Chief Roy Owens told KTXS, "We are not giving up on anything. This is an ongoing investigation."
The Colorado City police told KTXS that in the beginning of the case the investigation was intense, but over time it does settle down.
Det. Kelsey Alexander said she wants to assure the community that the case is still priority.
Alexander said, "It's not getting brushed aside. We just, in order of the integrity of our case and investigation, we can't say what exactly we're doing. We always have to think that our person or persons of interest are watching."
On a daily basis, they are receiving tips, emails and phone calls about Hailey and continue to follow leads.
Alexander said they have several leads "even as far as Mexico, helping us look for her based on different leads and speculations."
A meeting has been planned for all the law enforcement agencies to meet and regroup on new information involving the Hailey Dunn case in the next few weeks.

kinda curious as to why it matters if she's listed as missing vs kidnapped? gone is gone...

That's what I was thinking gone is gone and if listing her 17 different ways on 17 different websites will expose her story the most, go for it, if I recall correctly nobody really knows what happened to her, do they, at least not that the mom and boyfriend are talking!

I resisted coming into this thread as I do on most missing cases. They rarely end in a good way, just so hard following and hoping.
My feeling is Hailey died the day she went "missing". The BF is guilty as sin and the woman known as her mother is no mother.

Like many children Hailey is gone but there is no closure, no one to say goodbye to. I hope she is found so justice as best as it can be, will be served. Children are not disposable but yet they are treated as such. Makes my heart sick, makes me feel helpless at times. Most important with children missing, we don't forget their faces.
There is always hope even in the darkest of possibilities.

Hailey Dunn. Last seen December 27, 2010. Be found.

What a beautiful little girl. And she was just that.... A LITTLE GIRL, who was more than likely sexually abused and murdered by her mother's boyfriend and/or her mother. The very least that Billie Dunn is guilty of is covering for her sleaze of a penis. I cannot ever understand a mother choosing a man over her child.... EVER.

Soon it will be a year's anniversary since Hailey Dunn's disappearance. I've followed this case as well as I could; there doesn't seem to be any progress or new developments. The latest update is from Nov 30th, and only reinforces my belief that she's dead and Mom and bf both are just hoping it'll all go away.

A mother has moved nearly 280 miles away from the town where her 13-year-old cheerleader daughter vanished just 11 months ago.

Billie Dunn, 33, has moved from Colorado City in Texas to Austin with her boyfriend Shawn Adkins, who remains a person of interest in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn

Hailey's grandmother is grieving hard.
Hailey's grandmother Mrs Jones says the girl showed no desire to run away. Her home is covered with pictures of Hailey and said the teenager's softball glove and ball still sit on a stool in living room where she left them. Asked about Hailey's mother moving away, Mrs Jones said: 'If it was my daughter, there's no way that I would leave that house.'

She added: 'Every time some little kid walks down the road about her age, I'm there at the window pressing my eyes at the window, hoping, praying, that it's her.

it's been a year. I honestly thought they would have charged Mom's boyfriend by now :-( poor Hailey, I don't think she stood a chance with a Mom like hers
