I Was never really scared of any movies when I was growing up saw the exorcist when I was like 7 and started to talk like Linda Blair when she was possessed finally stopped when the old man beat the shit out of me however there is one scene in a movie that gave me pause it Was a Kristy Mcnichol movie called Dream lover where she is holding the stiletto in her hand just something about that scene.

can't find a website that has Irreversible anyone have any ideas tried YouTube also but no luck I need it
to have English sub titles

1) Sin city...I finally watched it. The switch in the hooker when she went from begging for her life to screaming Kill him. wow!

2) A Serbian Film....you think its all over and then...Start with the little one.

3) The Hateful Eight..Every time Jennifer Jason Leigh got a punch to the face and took it like a champ...I laughed, or said holy fuck!

Audition... Japanese movie.
I loved it ! It could have already been mentioned.
... Didn't look through the whole thread.
Worth a watch if you like bizarre stuff.

Asian countries make some really awesome movies. Have you ever seen Oldboy? (the original Korean version, not the recent remake). That's a movie you need only watch once...it's enough. I don't even want to touch the bluray slipcase now.

Thanks! I'm on it... I just Googled
I love weirdo stuff :D

Serbian Film is trash. It's so desperate in its attempts to shock and disgust that it comes across as laughably absurd. The shit it shows isn't funny, but the fact that someone seriosuly thought something like that up and decided to film it and is trying to pass it off is too ridiculous. Everything including the kitchen sink style filmmaking doesn't work when you're trying to do horror, just comes across as pathetic and lame. Fucked up/disturbing, nope, not when you can't take it seriously. It's like watching someone a group of delinquent, angsty teenagers would come up with if they told to craft the most messed up horror story they could. Just embarrassing.

Anyways, Schindlers List takes the cake for me. THe fact that it really happened sets it over the top.

Pet Semetary has always effected me quite a bit too, that Zelda sis is unforgettable and Pascal is too damn creepy. Fun stuff.

Sixth Sense surprisingly has always got me. I think a lot of people overlook that one, even if it is universally well received. People like it for being a creepy movie with a fun twist, the memorable quotes and all that, but they tend to laugh at me when it's brought up as a quality piece of horror. The fact that these ghosts are physically harming and abusing this kid, and likely have been his entire life, is what makes it so damn effective. He's not merely being scared or haunted, he's being attacked. Rarely hear people talk about that aspect of it, which i find odd given how unnerving and serious it is.

New
i win

lol! A Serbian Film wins? Hardly. Besides, it was already mentioned. Was it fucked up? Sure. But not really disturbing to me. Like Jack says, it is so over-the-top that it is absurd. Irreversible, Requiem for a Dream, and even the Spanish film Kidnapped were more disturbing to me because of how realistic they were. A Serbian Film was like watching a splatterpunk book.

Believe it or not, probably because of my age when I saw it, Wes Craven's original 1972 version of "Last House on the Left" had me looking out the windows, pulling shades and drapes and double checking locks for weeks.

You guys should rewatch Last House on the Left. It's always been garbage, but watching it now you'll see how pisspoorly its aged, it's so cheesy and full of so much crap that destroys the tone and atmosphere.

The only thing I found disturbing about that movie was the scene where the mother puts the chisel on the dude's teeth. I never understood why this movie, or I Spit On Your Grave are anyone's "disturbing movie" list. They were pretty cheeseball when they came out, I thought. I think it has to be the rape aspect of them that immediately put them in that category to some degree.

Australian movie, Bad Boy Bubby

Bad Boy Bubby tells the twisted tale of a 35 year old man taking his first steps into the outside world after having been confined to his room for his entire life by his abusive mother. Bubby’s darkly funny and oddly touching odyssey through the city of churches involves incest, murder and blasphemy, but it’s the scenes of him ‘playing’ with his pet cat that really got people worked up. I’m pretty sure that isn’t an animatronic kitty, and would be willing to bet that the words ‘no animals were hurt in the making of this film’ aren’t to be found anywhere in the credits...

Yep, as a kid, the rape scene in Last House was the one that did me in. Good recommendation, Jack. It'll be kind of fun to see what I thought was so terrifying back then, esp. if the reboot has more cheese.

Tusk? GIve me a break.

The only disturbing thing about that is how much potential Kevin Smith wasted. I get that the whole thing was made on a whim, on a webcast joke, but he had something seriously interesting/creepy in large part thanks to the brilliant performance of the villain. Then he just throws it into the trash and delivers oneo f the dumbest bits of oddball goof trash ever put to screen.

tusk is awesome. did you see how many hamburgers johnny depp ate? it's disturbing because his gf and best friend were like "peace out walrus fucker!" at the end, they just gave him a fish told him they were fucking and left him in an abandoned zoo. how is that fate not terrifying?

Cuz it's a fucking joke haha, that's why it's not terrifying.

Early on i was shocked, the movie was working for me, it was a genuinely solid, scary horror movie. THen he rushes thru the body horror stuff, which is about as braindead mistake as one could make with a movie like this. The rest of the flick confirms that the entire thing was meant to be a joke.

Now i can appreciate that, and it is pretty cool he took some funny conversation on his webblog and actually turned the absurd movie idea born from it into an actual film. But he actually, surprisingly had something genuinely good here, there was serious potential, yet he still decided to go the chessy, flash in the pan joke movie route.

Not horror, but Happiness still ranks up there in my Most Disturbing Movie list. If you can't get 'em with murder, rape or necrophilia, throw in some pedophilia - and make it a dark comedy.

Also, Larry Clark films... like Ken Park, Kids or, my favorite, Bully. I always find non-horror films way more disturbing than horror films, though.

What about that corny ballad about the bad guys? It sounded like something from a really bad cartoon. That was pretty disturbing. I don't actually have nightmares about it, but sometimes it does get stuck in my head and make think longingly of the grave.

Definitely. Graphic rape in a movie is very hard for me to watch. How about Deliverance? That was just as "disturbing" for me.

Also, I recently watch Creep (on Netflix) that was pretty fucking disturbing. I want to add ABC's of Death too. As a whole not too bad but a couple of the short films were horrific.

When mom is talking about her sick sister and how she was happy when she died and it's a flashback scene of her gross sister. It freaked me the fuck out when I was a kid.

ACK!

I might have to re-watch this movie.

I like teeth...some of my favourite porn stars got to the top of my list because of their teeth. I have cute crooked teeth, the kind they pay money for in Japan.

I just watched Filth. Scary because those are cops and all the Christmas music...its a Christmas Movie for fuck sakes...but other than that it was funny as shit.

It's like we're twins, Jack. That sister scene scarred me for life.
This is touching. Now we're finally getting somewhere. Imagine, Jack & DIAF twins...separated at birth...both gravitate to the same bizarre crime forum...and a thread like this brings them back together. This is like...just wow. I have a tear in my eye. I can't wait to hear what else you two find out about each other. Use your twin ESP to read his thoughts, and give us the goods on everything! :D

You all ever watch an episode of Sesame Street? Takes the cake. Some highly disturbing shit going on right there. All of societies problems stem from letting us watch that shit growing up.

The cookie monster? What the fuck is in those cookies!!!??? Obviously he represents all of the crack heads in society with addictive personalities.

Elmo? Why the fuck is he always tickling kids that aren't his? Elmo is highly represented on this site alone. Even Elmo HIMSELF is a pedophile. Surprise anyone? Nope, not me, I was just surprised he was black. Still am. Gets me every time.

Miss Piggy? She represents the greedy, take, take, take, and take some more part of society that sickens me. Oh and fat people.(I love fat people though)

Burt and Ernie? HA HA HA HA. Can't believe nobody saw that one coming. In fairness to them, they've actually helped sway a bunch of fellow closet cases to come out and live a proud life. However, the hetero ones were just swayed to live double lives!

Big Bird? Sensitive PC Fuck face. I truly hope he winds up on someones thanksgiving table before long.

Oscar the Grouch? He's why nobody gets along in this world- Oscar represents negativity and conflict. He is an evil bastard that sucks the joy out of everything that is good! Oscar was my favorite. I'm a negative fuck face AND I live in a dumpster fire... shocker!

Kermit? He's the reason women are drawn to "bad boys" that are really just glorified ghetto trash at heart. Well not entirely his fault Miss Piggy never went for him but still. It set a bad precedent. The nice guy got repeatedly fucked. Or not fucked at all depending on how you look at it. Perspective thing. Either way, Kermit represents A LOT of dudes out there. I was Kermit at one point. It sucked.

The one with a vacuum on his face? Snuffleblahblahagus. NOBODY should a get vacuum on their face? What is the point of dating if you have a fucking vacuum-On your face! I wouldn't leave the god damn house if I had a vacuum attached to my face. He represents all of the dudes at home too busy jerking off to leave the house. Okay, I reached on that one. My other points are still valid.

Well ladies, I challenge you to think twice the next time before you plop your little crayon eating snot brewing shithead down in front of Sesame Street while you sneak back to bed for some dick. MMMMKAAAYYY? Is that so hard? Sorry, this can be a personal topic for me.

PHEW. Now that I got that off of my chest...

I spit on your Grave: They just dragged that fucking scene out forever and ever! It was the rape that kept on raping. Nobody wants to see that shit drag out like that. Just no. You have major rape fantasy issues if you made it through that movie. I couldn't imagine seeing that at the theater lol. That is the only movie I have ever turned off out of sheer distaste for what I was watching. I saw reversible too. At least wait until people are invested into the movie. Lol the first half hour was rape... it was a bit much. If it wasn't so disturbing I would have had time to get off twice with a recharge in between..

Nah. It was the plot device for a very shitty movie. The remakes were a LOT worse with their rape scenes. I wouldn't even rank that movie in my list of disturbing films, to be honest, mostly because it was fairly horrible in every way. Other movies, even mainstream ones that came out before it, have rape scenes that make ISoYG's look like a quaint dinner date.

The Fly... I was a little kid when I watched it at a friend's house. I've never dared watch it again as an adult. I felt sick and couldn't sleep for days. Body horror is the worst.

Invasion of the Bodysnatchers with Donald Sutherland got to me too. The feeling of paranoia... Seriously scary.

I don't know if it's just cos I was young when I watched them, but 80s movies scared me in a way that newer movies like Irreversible, the Audition etc never could.

The Thing had an awful claustrophobic, paranoid atmosphere to it too, but the over-the-top gory monster make it too funny and awesome to leave me really scared by it. I've watched it quite a few times - love that movie. A really scary movie is one that you want to burn with fire and never ever watch again.

This is going to be an unpopular one, but the Blair Witch Project seriously freaked me out. Just the fact that you never see anything and you don't really know what's going on... It preyed on my mind for days.

That might be why I shut it off. Lol and yes, you get the feeling that they were just trying to impress you with how far they went in the first twenty minutes and didn't really feel the need to rely on anything else to support it. I lied about when I shut it off anyway lol. I shut it off after she had started her revenge a bit. It was just horrible.

Nobody has mentioned any prison movies. They all disturb me when they don't leave the umm man on man activities to the imagination. I always find those disturbing. Okay, I get it- I don't want to go to jail. You can still just fade out or away lmao you dont gotta run all up in his face with the camera and shit!
