Erie, PA–Have you ever had one of those days? You know, the days where nothing seems to go your way? Vincent Davis, 24, had one of those days last week. It started off when the dog shit on the floor and the baby started crying…

Last Tuesday, Vincent was at the home of his girlfriend, Jessica Fox, taking care of his 5-month-old daughter, Savonnia, while her mother worked. He flew into a rage when his girlfriend’s dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Marley, shit on the floor. The 6’3″-230 lb. man brutally kicked the little dog, over and over. Marley died. Vincent threw the dog’s body into a trash bag and placed the bag on the front porch of the home.

Shortly after, little Savonnia started crying. Vincent said, that while changing the girl’s diaper, she slipped right out of his hands and onto the floor. Uh-huh…another case of ‘Oopsie daisy, dropped the baby.’

Later that evening, when Fox returned home, it was obvious something was wrong with the baby. Savonnia wouldn’t eat; she was lethargic, her eyes rolled back into her head, and Fox wasn’t able to wake her. The couple called a cab and took the baby to St. Vincent Health Center. Savonnia was later flown to Children’s Hospital. She died on Thursday.

Doctors told detectives Savonnia suffered fractured ribs, hemorrhaging and cerebral edema. She wasn’t dropped, she was shaken. Savonnia also had contusions and abrasions on her body that ‘raised red flags.’

When questioned, Vincent gave detectives the bullshit story about dropping the baby…he later admitted to shaking her because she wouldn’t stop crying. Well, you sure shut that kid up, didn’t ya, Vincent?

Vincent Davis was arrested on Friday and charged with homicide in the death of Savonnia Davis. He also was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and cruelty to animals. A necropsy on Marley revealed broken ribs and massive internal trauma. Vincent is being held without bail. Enjoy your stay tough guy…

    Exactly. He had to have known that day, which he started off by killing the dog, that he was in no fit state to care for his precious child. And instead of calling someone to come and help him while he tried to get help for his temper he sentenced that poor baby to death by merely doing nothing.

    You don’t kick anything to death without having some sort of knowledge that you and your temper are beyond out-of-control. He chose to wait there with a small infant who is 100% percent likely to cry and reignite his fury all over again. He was like a ticking time bomb, he had to have felt or understood that, and instead of making a good decision he made a terrible one.

    Now he has to pay the price for his bad choice and he cries like a big baby. Ugh. This monster is worse than the dog crap he got so upset about cleaning up.

    This makes me angry. Just this weekend, I found a small puppy that was being abused at the neighborhood park. My kids and I saved the poor thing from more abuse. He wouldn’t even eat from our hand it was so scared. Now he is safe in my home with PLENTY of LOVE & ATTENTION. No need for abuse.

    WHY does it seem this is USUALLY the case when a man kills a baby? The mother is working or otherwise not in the home at the time! I mean, I know women kills babies too, but the men that kill kids seem to usually be unemployed. Unemployment is sky HIGH right now and the economy sucks, TRUE! But we cannot blame the fragile state of the economy for bad parents! The shit that is going on is unforgivable. People need to stop complaining and thinking that certain jobs are “beneath” them. Hell, I am a college grad and might get a part-time job at Target. I got laid off few weeks ago and have been miserable ever since. That doesn’t mean I would kill the kid of someone I was babysitting for who was actually WORKING. These men are the dead beats and the women allow them to be by accepting the lifestyle and not pushing for or wanting more and better! Why the fuck should she be working and not home w/ her BABY?!     Yeah, I’ve had those days. Most days are like that for me. Minus kicking a small animal to death and shaking the baby, that is.

    This whole story reminds me of one horrible day a few months back. I had a very painful infection and needed to get to the doctor for antibiotics. I put my son in his carseat and then, he peed and his diaper leaked. (This was the last time I used cheap generic diapers.) I picked him up to clean him up and when I got back to the car seat to clean it up, one of my cats had peed in it, too. (Apparently, the cat thought that the smell of pee meant it was okay to pee there.) Now, the crazy thing about the fershluggin’ car seat is that the straps are sewn on and cannot be removed and tossed in the washer. Of all the things made for babies that are completely cleanable, this is not. The seat was ruined from the moment the baby’s diaper leaked. I didn’t have another seat and all I could think about was the pain from that infection and the knowledge that I couldn’t get to the doctor now. I was crying, the baby was crying, and oh, my head hurt.

    I put the baby in another room, made sure he was safe and then collapsed on the floor and wailed until my mother came over. I didn’t kick my cat to death. I didn’t shake my son. Did I think about it or something similar? Hell, yeah. But even in my sorry state (physically ill with severe PPD on top of that) I was aware of the consequences such actions would bring. And that’s the key: awareness. This guy needed to be more aware of the consequences of his actions.

    But he wasn’t aware and now his baby girl and an innocent dog are dead. He’s also lost his girlfriend (at least, if I were in her situation, I wouldn’t stay with a man who murdered my baby and pet) and will bear the guilt and punishment for these actions for the rest of his life. In retrospect, how hard would it have been to clean up the dog dookie and just hold the baby when she was crying? I’m sure he had other stuff to do, but will he be able to do it now that he’s sitting in a jail cell? It’s doubtful.

    I am going to pray for this man as well as the soul of his daughter. For some reason he looks tormented to me. Not like the other crazies that appear on DD. It seems like he has anger managment issues that should have been identified before he was given the stressful task of caring for an infant. He’s wrong and definitely should be punished.     Okay. Let me speak my peace. I don’t care what everyone’s impression of Vince is. He is a human and humans make mistakes. His was a big mistake. No one knows what was going through his mind that day and no one knows the kind of person he was. I am not here to make excuses for him or any further. He was a loving father. He and his girlfriend had a 7 year old son together also. He was wonderful with his children, he did anything he could to protect them. And the reason that he didn’t work is because he has a mental illness. He has been suffering from this illness for years. I was a very close friend on Vince’s and have known him for 6 years. This situation has my mind boggled. My main point is maybe you should think before you speak. You don’t know anything about him. But people who judge others will eventually go to hell. He is going to serve his time for what he did. And he completely acknowledges what he did and will do whatever he has to do to make his life right. So he killed a child but there are people out there who will kill 5 children and a mother just because he didn’t want to pay child support. He made a mistake he realized what he did. No one is perfect. And for those of you who have children, why don’t you grow up and stop posting about other people you don’t know and take care of your children? I am not trying to be disrespectful but damn, can you get a life and stop posting shit about other people?

    A mistake is forgetting to mail a letter, making a wrong turn while searching for a new address in an unfamilar town or not calling your Mom back right away when you said you would!

    Vincent and Jessica were always on and off. I am the one that he came to every time they broke up. So to all you people, do you think that abortion is right? Abortion is murder also. There are millions of abortions that happen every year in the world. As soon as that baby is conceived, it is a human being. There are young girls who are 15 and birthing a baby and leaving it in a dumpster. When Vincent did what he did, he called Jessica at work and told her that something was wrong with their daughter. She choose to stay at work and finish her shift and told him that they would take her to the hospital when she got home. And when she got home, instead of calling 911, she decided to wait for a cab. So maybe somebody should be looking at her also. Yes, he did the actions that cause her to die, but the mother didn’t help matters. If she would have left work and called 911 and got the baby to the hospital right away, there is a possibility that she would still be us. What you guys aren’t understanding is this. I am NOT saying that he should get away with what he did. The actions he took were far from right and he DOES deserve the punishment he will get. I am going to court for him, but not to defend him. I want the judge to know the loving father he is to my daughter. I believe that he should get whatever sentence comes his way. But also at the same time, I am going to have to deal with the questions from my daughter about where her father is. And as far as my son, every little boy needs their father. I have never raised a boy, and how am I going to teach him how to stand and use the bathroom? Those kind of things are usually taught by the father of the child. You all are taking this as I am saying that he is innocent and that he shouldn’t be in jail. I will say it once again, the actions that he took were wrong and he DOES deserve what is coming his way.
