Antwan Anderson Is Ungrateful
April 23, 2008 by impqueen
Riviera Beach, FL – Jeanette Anderson was already over 50 when she took in the little boys. They needed a mother, especially baby Antwan, just three days old. She adopted Antwan and his brothers and raised them as her own, teaching them the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Well, apparently Antwan Anderson wants someone to bludgeon him to death, because that’s what he did to his adoptive mother. Anderson, 19, is charged with killing Jeanette Anderson, 71, with a hammer to the side of the head. Her body was found on Tuesday.

Fort Pierce police got a tip from a family member on Tuesday and went to Jeanette Anderson’s home to check on her. They found her body covered by blankets on her bed. An hour away in Riviera Beach, Antwan was hiding out in the closet at his brother’s apartment. Antwan Anderson told police that his mother yelled at him to get off the phone on Monday night, but “he didn’t get mad because it is her phone”. So he got off the phone. Then he watched television until she went to sleep, got a hammer out of the closet and “bashed her head in.”
When asked whether he was sorry, Antwan smiled and asked investigators, “No, why would I be sorry about this?”
Anderson has been arrested 15 times in the past eight years for crimes ranging from disturbing the peace to assault. Family members say that Antwan had only just moved back in with his mother after being kicked out of another relative’s home. “She didn’t want to see him on the street,” Jeanette’s daughter Linda Gilliam said. “She opened the door and let him back in.” Antwan was not a grateful son.
Antwan Anderson is charged with first-degree murder. He is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bail.
