Sentenced: AL. mom took pictures of herself performing sex acts on her 4yo son & sent them to a man

The Foley Police Department, along with the Baldwin County Department of Human Resources, on Tuesday launched an investigation into possible sexual abuse involving a child after receiving information from a concerned source, according to authorities.

The investigation that followed confirmed the abuse, Foley police said.

Corey Ashton Steele, 32, and Krystal Sanspree, 30, were both arrested.

Police said that through the investigation it was determined that Steele solicited pictures from Sanspree of her performing sexual acts with her 4-year-old child.

The pictures were sent over a phone to Steele, police said.

FPD said both parties made admissions to investigators.

Sanspree is being charged with sexual abuse of a child less than the age of 12, first-degree sodomy, four counts of production of child pornography, and four counts of dissemination of child pornography.

Steele is being charged with criminal solicitation of a Class B felony, solicitation of sodomy, four counts of possession of child pornography and four counts of solicitation of child pornography.

The child has been relocated for safety by DHR, authorities said.

Krystal Sanspree,

31, pleaded guilty to production of child pornography in June of 2019. Court documents show that Foley police received a tip on Sanspree from her co-defendant, Corey Steele, who was arrested for possession of child pornography.

The US District Court judge sentenced Sanspree to 20 years in federal prison with a 15 year term of supervised release after being discharged from prison. Sanspree will undergo mental health treatment while incarcerated as well.

During the course of Foley police’s investigation, detectives were able to determine that Sanspree and Steele were involved in a romantic relationship. During their relationship, Steele requested photos of Sanspree performing sexual acts on children, to which she complied.

A child in several photos was known to Sanspree and was 4-years-old. When interviewed, Sanspree admitted to taking the photos for Steele. Both Steele and Sanspree were in possession of the images at the time of their arrest.

The US District Court judge sentenced Sanspree to 20 years in federal prison with a 15 year term of supervised release after being discharged from prison. Sanspree will undergo mental health treatment while incarcerated as well.

Corey Steele was to be sentenced April 15, 2020.

Corey Steele, 33, was sentenced for 30 years for child pornography, the United States Attorney Richard W. Moore of the Southern District of Alabama announced Monday. Steele pleaded guilty back in June of 2019.

According to documents submitted in connection with Steele’s guilty plea, Foley Police Department received a tip that Steele was in possession of child pornography. The Foley Police Department’s investigation revealed that Steele was asking his co-defendant Krystal Sanspree to take sexually explicit photos of a child. Spanspree complied and sent photos to Steele. Spansree was previously sentenced to twenty years for her crimes.

Steele was sentenced to 360 months (30 years) imprisonment. The judge ordered that Steele is to undergo mental health treatment, sex offender treatment, and drug and alcohol treatment while incarcerated. Steele is to also serve a fifteen-year term of supervised release beginning his discharge from prison and must register as a sex offender upon release. Steele must also pay $10,100 in special assessment.
