Three 16-year-old boys accused of kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old girl at Tom Brown Park are being charged as adults.
On May 23, Tallahassee Police Department responded to a sexual battery call and contacted the 15-year-old victim, who cooperated with investigators. She was able to identify Demario Davis, Zaccheus Michael and Jacari Spencer in a photo lineup.
According to court documents, the victim and Michaels were supposed to meet in the parking lot of Lincoln High to talk but Michaels drove off with her and met up with Davis and Spencer at Wescott Apartments.
After hanging out for a while the victim asked to be taken back to school. Michaels initially agreed but ended up taking her to Tom Brown Park.
The victim told investigators Michaels pulled near the bathroom and Davis pulled her out the vehicle as she screamed. After they put her down, she tried to walk away but she said Davis pulled her to the women’s bathroom. One of the boys placed a sandbag on the door, so no one could come in.
The girl told investigators the boys held her down and took turns raping her. When they were done she said they told her, “What happens in the group, stays in the group.”
A search of the scene by law enforcement found used condoms and condoms wrappers matching the victim's description located in the garbage outside the women’s bathroom. The girl also had an exam that showed injuries consistent with being raped, and investigators collected other evidence.
