https://nypost.com/2018/03/08/teen-found-guilty-of-slashing-weeks-old-puppys-throat/Damien Ingram, 17, was convicted Thursday on charges in connection to what some experts called one of the “worst cases of animal abuse they’ve ever seen."
Police said a group of kids discovered the mutilated 6-week-old dog in July lying in front of a Kewanee apartment complex. The abused pup, who was later named Thor, reportedly suffered horrific injuries, including slashes to his back and deep cuts on his neck.
“This is not something you expect to see or something I’ve ever seen before,” Chris Ryan, a vet at the Kewanee Veterinary Clinic, told KLJB in July.
Ingram was arrested and confessed to police that he’d used a box cutter to slit the dog’s throat and left him in a ditch, news station KWQC reported.
His lawyers argued that the dog was sick and he wanted to put him out of his misery.
As for Thor, the Henry County Humane Society said the pup has since made a full recovery.
“Thor has grown from a puppy near death to a beautiful, healthy, and happy boy,” the organization said in a Facebook post.
