An ex-con was busted for assault in Manhattan and kicked free without bail by a kid-glove judge — and two days later he allegedly tried to rape a woman on a Midtown street, police sources said Wednesday.
Robert Scott, 28, of Philadelphia, first was collared on Sunday for allegedly socking a woman in the face while shouting “F–k you, bitch!”
But, rather than set any bail for Scott pending trial, Manhattan Judge Nicholas Moyne simply released him following an arraignment.
Two days later, Scott allegedly ambushed and tried to rape a woman on the Upper East Side, sources said.
He tailed the woman after she got off a bus, eventually grabbing her chest and vagina over the clothes and whispering, “Give me that p—y” several times, sources said.
He threw her to the ground, got on top of her and started kissing her — as she attempted to record the whole ordeal on her cell phone, the sources said.
The brave woman fought back by biting Scott on the lip, prompting him to allegedly punch her in the face, ADA Kimberly Grin said during his arraignment on assault, sex abuse and attempted rape charges Wednesday.
Scott bolted and the victim chased him shouting “Stop him!” police sources said.
A nearby NYPD Strategic Response Group unit noticed the fleeing creep and arrested him at the corner of 42nd Street and Second Avenue, the sources said.
The tough-as-nails victim told cops “I have no injuries,” but she was later taken to the hospital for a partial rape kit, Grin noted.
Current Judge Ilana Marcus ordered him held for a psych exam instead.
If he is declared mentally fit, he’ll face another bail hearing.
