An Alabama elementary school teacher has been placed on leave after being arrested this week on child pornography charges, reports say.

Amy Sudberry was taken into custody Monday night by police in Rainbow City, northeast of Birmingham, according to the Gadsden Times. The 39-year-old teacher at Carlisle Elementary School is now facing charges including production of pornography with minors, possession of pornographic material and chemical endangerment of a child, jail records show.

“The Etowah County Board of Education is aware of criminal charges against an employee, Mrs. Amy Sudberry,” Superintendent Alan Cosby told the newspaper in a statement. “This employee has been placed on leave pending the outcome of this matter.”

Sudberry’s husband, Joshua, also has been arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia and chemical endangerment of a child.

Rainbow City Police Lt. Jason Higgins told the Gadsden Times that so far there is no indication that any of the crimes Amy Sudberry is alleged to have committed involved students at her school.

Police also told ABC 33/40 that the alleged pornographic material involved a child under the age of 12 – and that they were alerted to the situation after receiving a tip about a TikTok video.

Sudberry, whose bond is listed at $100,000, is charged with dissemination/display of child pornography, production of pornography with minors, possessing any obscene matter with a child under the age of 17, chemical endangerment of a minor and producing pornography with a minor, according to Etowah County Jail records.

Three of the charges are with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office while the other two are with the Rainbow City Police Department.

Etowah County Schools Superintendent Alan Cosby told the Gadsden Times that Sudberry was placed on leave pending the outcome of the charges and that the district is cooperating with authorities.

Sudberry’s husband, Joshua Wayne Sudberry, 33, is facing two felonies out of Rainbow City: chemical endangerment of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The couple were arrested after Rainbow City police received a cyber tip, the Gadsden Times reported.

And this is the reason I don't want adults of any kind in the students bathroom. Doesn't matter the gender, teachers should not be allowed.
Did I miss something? I see threads were merged so did I miss the part about someone in a student bathroom?

This teacher, in this story, is a maker of child pornography. What I was referring to is the other story of teacher who is a male to female transgender demanding to use the female children's bathroom because he/she/it has put on dresses and wears makeup but is still physically male. This is the reason why I wouldn't want any adult, of any flavor, in a child's bathroom at school.

A shirt that doesn't cover for a second or two isn't child porn. Probably the same person reported this as did to that lady that was pleasuring herself under her bathing suit on the beach.

A grand jury found no evidence to pursue charges against an Etowah County teacher who was arrested Nov. 1 on two child pornography related offenses, according to attorney John Floyd.

Amy Bedwell Sudberry, 39, and her husband were taken into custody after a cyber tip sent Rainbow City police to their home.

When grand jurors reviewed the evidence in the case last week, District Attorney Jody Willoughby said, they determined no criminal charges were warranted.
Floyd, Sudberry's attorney, said the charges came after a cyber tip from Tik Tok about a video posted of Sudberry's 4-year-old son dancing around in a T-shirt that reached his knees. For a second or two, he said, the child jumped up and raised his arms, and his genitals were visible.

Sudberry and her husband also faced a charge of criminal endangerment of a child; no indictment was returned on those charges either.
