11Yo Girl Fought Back As Memphis Man Attempted To Rape Her

A man is behind bars after Memphis Police say he tried to forcibly rape an 11-year-old girl.

According to an affidavit, Michael Hardimon, 50, made the victim undress and lay down while she fought back.

The incident happened at an apartment in southeast Memphis.

After police were notified, the girl was taken to the Rape Crisis Center in stable condition, the affidavit said.

According to police, a woman told officers she witnessed Michael Hardimon attempt to rape a girl. Police say Hardimon threatened the woman and she was so scared and didn’t know what to do.

At one point, police say the woman attempted to run out of the apartment but Hardimon grabbed her by the arm.

The woman eventually went to a neighbor’s apartment, banged on the door and begged them to call police.

Hardimon has been charged with aggravated sexual battery and attempted rape of a child.

Ok I guess it's good she alerted the neighbor. But "didnt know what to do"? You find a weapon and use it. you jump on his back and try to claw his eyes out. You use your body as a barrier between him and the the traumatized child. Get in his damn way and be a nuisance so he can't complete the act. You don't allow him to touch that poor child for even 1 second longer if you can help it.
