Texas thugs murder war hero's therapy dog - video

Retired Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, author of the book "Lone Survivor," about his military service in Afghanistan, suffered a heinous crime last week while at home here in the United States. Joy-riding thugs murdered his therapy dog.

He doesn't sleep well at night so was awake and heard a gunshot. He got up, got his gun, checked his Mom to be sure she was ok, checked his yard, saw a car with 4 men outside of it standing over the body of his dog, laughing and joking about killing her. She had been shot to death, and they looked like hunters admiring their kill.

Daisy was Marcus Luttrell's therapy dog - his rehab partner and best friend. Her name came from his fallen buddies in Afghanistan. Danny, Max, Southern Boy and Yankee was how his Navy Seal squad was known - Southern Boy was Marcus' name, and his book, Lone Survivor, chronicles the ordeal they all went through, leaving only Southern Boy alive.

The video gives more information. Luttrell chased these fucktards down in his own car, with his shotgun. Police formed a roadblock that stopped them.

Other web sites report that while they were being taken away, they threatened Marcus Luttrell's life - in front of the cops. Real bright bulbs here.

The Texas Rangers arrive and these guys, when the Texas Rangers are taking these guys away, Marcus has held them there by a gun. As the Rangers are taking these guys away, they're threatening Marcus' life and saying, "When we get out, we're coming for you next. First it was your dog. It's going to be you next. You don't know who you're messin' with." That's when Marcus kind of snapped just a little bit and said to the Ranger, "Excuse me, ranger, do you know who I am?" He said, "Yes, sir, Mr. Luttrell, I do." He said, "You might want to explain to these punks because I could have killed them 600 different ways and if I wanted to kill you guys after what you would have done what you just did to my dog, I would have pulled you down into my basement and I would have tortured you for days and you wouldn't have died until you begged me for death. So before you start saying you're going to come after me, you better learn who you've just whose dog you just killed."

Gah. I'm reading these articles and the responses, and I can't understand why people are trying to make this a political issue. I'm probably one of the most left leaning people I know, which huge communist leanings. (Real communism, not that shit that you see with dictators.) And *I* think he would have been entirely justified in shooting those fuckers. I admire his restraint, I really do, because I am relatively sure that I would not have refrained from shooting them.

But it's not about politics. This kind of behavior should be abhorrent to *everyone*.

I have been following this story and its discussed all over the place. On blogs and forums from the ASPCA down to the White Supremacists. Retired military, hunters, gamers, animal rights underground...you name the group, they are talking about it. I was at one site of retired military (forget where) but I found a comment to the effect of

"Not only are Navy Seals trained to not shoot, but they are also trained to show extreme patience when *stalking* their kill. These two punks are DEAD MEN WALKING."

WTF? They just pulled over and shot the dog, out in her own garden? I really REALLY hope that Marcus Luttrell gets his revenge on these two fuckwits. I wish he HAD dragged them down to his basement and tortured them to death. Its no less than what they deserve!

A couple of tough guy wanna-be's,who dont know they are born, killing the 'rehab partner and best friend' of a real man, a true hero. I hope they fucking die for this.
 
Hernandez is online now and says, "I love haters". I imagine he has quite a few now. He has gone private. Edmonds has cancelled his account.

Just watching his interview brings tears to your eyes. I am very surprised he didn't kill them that night. Stories like these just make my heart ache. RIP Daisy.
 
These punks talk tough but they'll be somebody's bitch or punching bag within five minutes of being in prison. I'd say let Marcus have a round at them, they won't look so good afterwards. On a side note, this case shows once again the weakness of laws when it comes to animal abuse. These punks shot a helpless dog to death for kicks and threatned to murder a man. It'd only be a matter of time before killing animals gets boring. They have been linked to other dog killings as well.

Grand Jury indicts two for April dog shooting

Two men were indicted by a Walker County Grand Jury last week for the April shooting of a dog owned by a local war hero.

Alfonso Garcia Hernandez, 24, and Michael John Edmonds II, 21, were indicted on June 10 on one count each of cruelty to non-livestock animals after allegedly shooting and killing DASY, a Labrador retriever belonging to Marcus Luttrell, a highly-decorated Navy SEAL and veteran of the war in Afghanistan.

According to Walker County District Attorney David Weeks, cruelty to non-livestock animals is a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail facility and/or a $10,000 fine.

The case has been assigned to the 278th Judicial District Court under Judge Kenneth H. Keeling. Though no trial date has been officially set, Weeks said the trial could go forward as early as next month.

Weeks said he was unsure who in his office would try the case, but said they would likely seek the stiffest possible penalty.

“There’s no excuse for someone just going out and killing dogs,â€￾ Weeks said. “I consider it a serious situation.â€￾

Never thought this would actually go to trial. But, after three years, here it is.

Michael John Edmonds said that it was time for him to take responsibility for a horrendous crime he committed close to three years ago.

“I shot it,â€￾ Edmonds testified in the 278th District Court on Tuesday.

Edmonds was called as a witness by the state in the animal cruelty trial of Alfonso Hernandez on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Edmonds, who was supposed to go to trial as well, changed his plea to guilty in the case concerning the death of DASY, a dog owned by Luttrell, who is a highly decorated Navy SEAL and a veteran of the war in Afghanistan.

While Edmonds admitted he was the one who pulled the trigger, Alfonso Hernandez is also facing a state jail felony charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals. Edmonds testified that earlier in the evening Alfonso Hernandez shot another dog and got out of the car after DASY was killed and hit the dog with a wooden bat.
