Olajunti Marquis McCullough and Sierra Jade Morgan were arrested after it took five days for a child to be taken to a doctor for a fractured left leg,
Investigators from the child protection team learned the boy had been found lying on the bathroom floor and was unable to get up, the arrest report said. When he tried to walk, he could not stand on his left leg and began to cry.
Morgan told investigators she thought the boy had pulled a muscle and gave him ibuprofen and rubbed ice on the leg, similar to the advice she said her parents gave her, the report said. The child's left leg became very swollen by Aug. 19, and they finally took the child to the doctor on Aug. 22.
Morgan said she had been investigated for child abuse before by the state Department of Children and Families and was afraid to take him to the hospital, according to the arrest report.
