Oh, these people suck.
They didn't learn anything about sailing prior to the sinking, and only had $100 to their name when it did.
How were they going to pay for the rest of their trip? Mooring fees in Key West (It's not free to park your boat in a harbor) cost $3.30 per foot per night. That's $92.40 a night.
How were they going to pay for that?
Nonexistent sailing anecdotes?
It certainly wouldn't be picking up odd jobs doing boat maintenance, routine repairs or giving sailing lessons.

They are entitled, dangerous assholes.
Sailing is a skill you have to learn, it's hard work, preparation, knowledge, and for a trip like theirs you have to be a jack of all trades.
How did they even suppose they were going to replenish their fresh water tank or empty the waste tank? Without money?
I'll bet they didn't even know how to use the marine radio.

Update.
They didn't go far or long in their "gifted" boat. It sounds like someone else had to sail it for them, there was mishap after mishap due in large part to ignorance, carelessness, and arrogance, ugh.

Now the boat sits, unused in Florida, and they outfitted a van to explore abandoned mines.
The van idea crumbled around them.

Then they had an experience that 'changed their lives'

Did they:

1. Recognize their obnoxious ways and devote their lives to volunteerism to help others?

2. Get jobs and pay every donor, gifter, and helper back?

3. Rent an apartment and refer vaguely to "working", and had an introduction to paying their own bills and expenses
?

"A June 28 video documents their arrival in Key West. On the way there, the boat's engine failed twice, their propeller shaft broke and they holed up for repairs, Walsh says.Later, Broadwell nearly lost his fingers in a boating mishap.

After a few weeks in the Keys and a road trip to New Orleans, they returned and set sail for Miami.

Their first stop was Marco Island near Florida's southwest tip, where Walsh joked they were "forced" to stay four days longer than planned because of Tropical Storm Alberto. The storm lasted May 25 to June 1st.

In a YouTube video posted June 16, they are relaxing under clear skies at the pool of a Marriott Hotel.

During a storm, their motor seized and they wound up stranded far from the shores of the city.

As Broadwell hauled the anchor in by hand, the line became tangled and pulled tight against his fingers, Walsh says in a Sept. 1 video. He freed it just in time."

SMH
Also there was a food-chopping w/a knife vs fingers accident.
And did their dog even have a life vest?

Well, that was the end of all that.

" In a video Sept. 25, they convert a van that they bought in Jacksonville into lodging on wheels, complete with a dresser and a bed bolted to the floor.

The van is orange with a black diagonal stripe on both sides.Later videos show the couple exploring Colorado from their home in the van.

They mention having jobs but not what they are.(??!!)

Then in November, Walsh took to Instagram to announce they had left the road — in part because she was missing out on important things in life and might have been "running from my problems."

"We moved into an apartment last month," she said, "and it really changed my life."

You can probably find their YouTube videos, but why seek out aggravation?
