Woman Accused Of Making Sex Tape With Biological, Teenage Son

Nice, CA – A woman in California is facing a myriad of incest related charges after allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with her 16-year-old, biological son.

Mistie Atkinson, 32, has been charged with charged with incest, oral copulation of a minor, contact with a minor for a sexual offense and sending harmful matter to a minor after police found her in a hotel room with her son.

Aside from sending nude photos of herself to her son and engaging in explicit conversations that included running away together, police say they also have videos captured from the boy’s cell phone that show his mother allegedly performing oral sex on her son as well as engaging in sexual intercourse. Both were aware they are biological mother and son.

Atkinson has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently being held in the the Napa County Jail on a $200,000 bail. The boy’s father, who has sole custody, has obtained a restraining order against her.

This story is almost identical to another woman we posted about back in 2009. Aimee Sword is the 35-year-old Michigan woman accused of having a sexual relationship with her biological son she had given up for adoption. The sexual relationship began after they reconnected via the Internet. She was sentenced to 9 to 30 years in prison.

Because genetically it’s a dead end and we’re biologically driven to avoid such a thing for the most part. It’s why species like the Blue Macaw are probably going to go extinct, not enough genetic diversity in the remaining population. Let’s talk very basic genetics for a moment.
A child born has a 1 in 4 chance of having both genes recessive. If both parents have one dominant (D) and one recessive (R) gene, each one will give either their D or R, independent of what the other parent gives. So the possible combos are:

Parent 1 DRDD
Parent 2 RRRD

In the DR, DD, and RD cases, there is at least one D, so 3 out of 4 cases the recessive trait will not show up, but in 2 out of 4 cases, the child will be a carrier (RD and DR). Only in one case out of 4, the child will have both genes recessive, and likely display whatever characteristic is contained in that gene. If the parents of a child are both carriers of a trait the child has a one-fourth chance of inheriting the trait. This is true whether the parents are related or not. The reason incest is bad is because traits tend to run in families. So if the partners are in the same family more of the family members will carry the trait and the more likely it is that the child could get it.

I think that’s a fair question. I don’t know the answer but it’s fair. For myself I would have to say as a mom it just goes against everything in me and makes me ultra-hyper-puking-horrified. I can’t imagine viewing my sons this way, even my non-biological sons. I’m sure there are also some cultural and social explanations that have been absorbed by the masses for a couple of centuries that create that reaction. I also believe that this probably goes on more than we think among family members, including siblings.
