STAMFORD, Connecticut – I’m only posting this because it has a 6-panel mugshot. The actual crime wasn’t too bad I guess. Not condoning it or anything, but the visual in my head is kinda funny. On Wednesday night, people were singing karaoke at Bobby Valentine’s Restaurant. Six women started making negative remarks about a 25-year-old woman and her singing ability. One thing led to another and the woman ended up with a chipped tooth and bruises when the six women kicked, punched and pulled her hair before leaving. The women arrested were charged with assault, conspiracy to commit assault and breach of peace. Pics after the jump.
A little more info on this one. The victim is 25-year-old Leidy Alcantara was at the bar with her husband. She had just got finished singing “A Dios Le Pido” and was standing beside the disc jockey singing along with another karaoke performer. The girls were by the stage and waiting to perform their song when one of them allegedly told Alcantara that she was annoying and then punched her in the face.
One of the girls has a somewhat different version of events. She stated to police that after Alcantara was finished singing, a woman she did not know told Alcantara she was singing too loudly. Words were exchanged and that Alcantara threw the first blows. She also stated that they did not throw any punches and that any injuries Alcantara suffered came from her falling off the stage after the bouncers asked them to leave.
But witnesses backed up Alcantara’s version and the women were arrested walking away from the bar. Michelle Rosedom, Martisa Chambers, Danielle Swanson, Chaniel McRae, Deja Hines and Kiana Strickland were later released on $500 bond. They are due in court on Oct. 5 to face charges of third-degree assault, third-degree conspiracy to commit assault and breach of peace.
