Maria And Gabriel Left Child In Sticky Situation

Pasadena, CA - I know there are about as many ways of parenting as there are parents, but none of them should be stuff banned by the Geneva convention. At around 6 am Tuesday, Maria Palaez, age 29, called 911 and reported that her child was not breathing. Emergency personnel arrived to find 2 year old Rene Torres dead at the scene due to asphyxiation. His parents admitted to duct taping him up as a form of punishment and also said that they had taped his mouth occasionally. Though police are keeping the details of the case quiet, they have arrested both the mother and live-in boyfriend, 32-year-old Gabriel Diaz, due to the “suspicious nature of the call” and other evidence found in the course of the investigation.
Prosecutors allege that the couple had been torturing and abusing poor Rene for at least a month, since July 18th. The horrible parents are being held on a one million dollar bail on suspicion of murder. Police spokeswoman Janet Pope Givens said, “Evidence was found that pointed to foul play,” and “Whether it was intentional or not, the child still died and it is being investigated as a homicide.” Diaz has prior convictions for possession of a switchblade knife, driving without a license, and driving at an unsafe speed. Stories like this are so hard for me to read. I always picture what the child went through and it just about kills me. Why would a parent think that’s an ok form of punishment? Maybe he was acting up for a reason…ya think. R.I.P. Rene, so sorry you got stuck with your “parents”.

LOL! The 13 year old left her mothers home, just 6 months ago, to go live with her Father in Mexico, she must’ve been desperate too! I posted that because Maria is 29, I’m pretty good with a calculator, so I surmised that Maria Palaez was probably suffering from low self-esteem, puts penis on a pedestal and allows Gabriel Diaz to abuse her children! And, AND, possibly the 13 y/o will share some background on her egg-donor and the penis!

I haven’t always been cynical about single mothers and their penis-above-all-else ways, but D’D has changed my way of reasoning, so I must employ my scornful side, when I come across incubators like Maria Palaez!

I just looked at her myspace page. As I looked at pictures of this sweet angel it brought me to tears.. How can she call him her sunshine when all along she is doing such horrible things to him?.. I just don’t get it..

Sweet Rene was Sunshine, precious Sunshine, Maria and Gabriel let the darkness of drugs and selfishness overwhelm him and themselves!

These two were in Court, Monday, October 19th. They will be back in court on December 3,2009, the courts will set a preliminary hearing date then.
The autopsy on Rene Torres has been performed but there are still tests to be completed. At this time a cause of death is undetermined because Rene’s organs were underdeveloped, being a toddler, unlike an adults, where the pathologists are better able to determine any health issues, so it is inconclusive! I believe they are waiting on a toxicology screen.
Palaez is still in jail under a 2 million dollar bail. Diaz under a 2.3 million bail…
I think about Lil Mauricio Rene Torres (and countless others) everyday. I say a little prayer, that Renes death is not in vain, possibly saving another child from torture and pain! AND, pray that these two are tortured and in pain on a daily basis!
