FORT WORTH, TX – Two boys, ages 13 and 14, have been arrested after breaking into an apartment and fatally shooting a woman in the head.

On Friday the two boys kicked in the apartment door of 31-year-old Yesenia Gutierrez while brandishing a firearm.

One of the boys demanded Gutierrez’s iPhone, which she willingly gave them.

When the mother of three tried preventing the boys from going into the room where her 3-year-old was sleeping, she was shot in the back of the head.

When Gutierrez’s husband arrived home he found his wife’s lifeless body on the kitchen floor. Fortunately, their 3-year-old was unharmed and their other two children were still at school.

The boys were arrested after police found a 9mm pistol during a traffic stop that was later forensically linked to the shell casings discovered in Gutierrez’s apartment.

One of the boys told investigators they decided to rob Gutierrez after noticing a video game console through a window. They told police they thought the robbery would be an “easy lick.”

Both boys, who are not being named, are facing a count of capital murder.…

FRIENDSWOOD, TX – After being escorted from her child’s school play for being intoxicated, a Texas mother assaulted a police officer and then flooded her jail cell.

I get needing a lil’ suminsumin to get through your kid’s school events — school plays, fundraisers, parent-teacher conferences — but 35-year-old Christy Ann Churchwell really overdid it and just made a bad situation much, much worse.

Last Thursday she was watching her child in a play at Friendswood Junior High School when others begin complaining about her obnoxious behavior.

A police officer asked to speak with her outside and noticed she reeked of alcohol. After being helped outside, Churchwell balled up her fists and lunged at the officer.

That was when she was charged with public intoxication. While in custody, police would find eight 75 mL bottles of vodka in her purse, seven of which were empty.

As she was being escorted to a police car, Churchwell reportedly cursed at the officers present and kicked one of them. That’s when Churchwell was charged with assault of a police officer.…

HUMBLE, TX – A 43-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to embezzling $1.2 million from her job killed herself outside a Walmart hour before she was sentenced.

In January, Paige Bisher admitted she stole the money from a small Houston company where she worked part-time as an administrative assistant.

She got caught after the owner of the company asked to see the books. Instead of showing the owner, Bisher quit. This triggered an internal audit that revealed Bisher had been funneling company funds into her own account by writing checks to herself.

“The abuse of trust in this case was unparalleled in the 24 years I’ve been investigating white-collar crimes,” the chief fraud examiner at the Harris County DA’s office.

Bisher did about the only thing she could to help soften the blow of getting caught stealing millions by pleading guilty to first-degree larceny. Unfortunately for Bisher, theft of more than $200,000 in Texas is a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison.

She was to learn sentence this week, but hours before she was due in court Bisher fatally shot herself in the chest in a Walmart parking lot.…

HOUSTON, TX – A 10-year-old boy in Houston died after he was electrocuted while hiding inside a dryer during a game of hide-and-seek with friends.

On Friday, Fernando Hernandez Jr. was playing hide-and-seek with some other kids when he decided to hide inside a dryer in his apartment complex’s laundry room.

The kids he was playing with would find Hernandez unresponsive inside the dryer and called for help.

“I was just inside cooking… and my little son came inside and told me my son was dead on the floor,” said Hernandez’s mother. “He was purple and his eyes were open and he was gone.”

His parents performed CPR on the boy until paramedics arrived, but Hernandez would later be pronounced dead at the hospital.

When this was first reported, the cause of death was not known so I assumed someone turned on the dryer while he was in it, or he died of some kind of positional asphyxiation or suffocation.

But on Monday an autopsy would reveal Hernandez had been electrocuted.…

CONVERSE, TX – A 4-year-old boy was mauled to death by the family dog while playing in the backyard of his home.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Noah Trevino was playing alone in the backyard of his home Sunday afternoon when the dog attacked.

The dog, described as a “mixed large breed” was tied up at the time and it is believed the boy got too close to the animal while playing.

“It appears that the child may have gotten too close to the dog,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said. “One of the relatives of the child actually looked out into the backyard and saw that the dog had his mouth around the little boy’s neck and was shaking him.”

Family members were able to get the dog off of Noah and began administering CPR. Unfortunately, Noah was declared dead after being airlifted to the hospital. He had just celebrated his fourth birthday two weeks prior.

Bexar County Animal Control took the dog for an overnight observation and to be tested for rabies.…

NEDERLAND, TX – A judge sentenced a woman to 50 years in prison after she forced an 11-year-old relative to have sex with her on multiple occasions.

According to court documents, 39-year-old Tamora Angel Foster forced an 11-year-old relative to have intercourse and oral sex with her in the summer of 2015.

She forced him to do it again in 2016 when the boy was 12.

In 2016 Foster was arrested and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child. On Friday, she was found guilty by a jury.

Foster was  subsequently sentenced to 50 years in prison with no chance of parole and must register as a sex offender for life.

“It’s hard to imagine a more emotional and disturbing set of facts than those in this case,” assistant district attorney Kim Pipkin said. “I want to thank the jury for their verdict, law enforcement and CPS for their investigations, each of the witnesses for their testimony, the Garth House for their support, and most importantly, the victim for being so courageous.”

Foster’s co-defendant, 62-year-old James Shoemaker, was also charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.…

SHEPHERD, TX – A father of one is has been charged with thousands of crimes related to child sex abuse and child pornography in a case local police say is the worst they have seen in decades.

James Tumlinson, 26, was arrested on Feb. 28 and charged with one felony count of continuous sexual assault of a child after an investigation conducted by the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.

But as police continued their investigation, they found and identified at least four victims, thousands of images and video depicting child pornography and an accomplice.

Basically, it looks as if Tumlinson, a father of a young girl, was creating and sharing child porn with another individual.

This is evident by his charges being upgraded to two first-degree felony counts of continuous sexual assault of a child, 3,191 third-degree felony charges for possession of child pornography and seven second-degree felony counts of possession and promotion of child pornography.

Sheriff Greg Capers and Chief Dan Todd believe even more charges will be filed against Tumlinson as more of the victims in the images are identified.…

SHELDON, TX — A 26-year-old man has died at his workplace after he was pulled into an industrial tire shredder.

Byron Jones had only been working at Genan, Inc., a tire recycling facility, for four days when he somehow got caught in a tire shredder and couldn’t free himself free.

His body, or what was left of it, wasn’t discovered until after his co-workers had reported him missing.

Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) were at the plant over the weekend. They, along with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, are investigating the incident.

They weren’t the only ones looking for answers. Andrew Seerden, the attorney for Jones’ family, is planning suing Genan, Inc. — reportedly the largest tire recycling facility in the world.

“We are currently investigating the incident and expect to file a lawsuit in order to hold all negligent and grossly negligent parties fully accountable for this tragedy,” said Seerden.

Paul Francis, an attorney representing Genan, Inc., wisely declined to comment.

We will now add “falling into an industrial tire shredder” to our ever-growing list of horrific ways people have died on the job.…

GALVESTON, TX – A woman has been accused of fatally shooting her husband and two young sons before killing herself at a Texas resort.

Police say they were called to San Luis Resort early Monday morning after hotel guests reported hearing a series of “pops” from a room on the eighth floor.

When police arrived, they could hear faint moaning coming from inside the room that had been dead-bolted from the inside.

After forcing their way in they found 39-year-old Mauricio Morales and his two sons, 10-year-old Mauricio and 5-year-old David, on a bed suffering from gunshot wounds.

On the floor nearby was 37-year-old Flor de Maria Pineda — Mauricio’s wife and the mother of the two boys — suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Mauricio and David were pronounced dead at the scene, while Flor and 10-year-old Mauricio were pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

The family lives 50 miles away in Baytown, and had checked into the hotel at around 7:00 pm the night before the shootings occurred.…

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A gun range employee was cleaning a rifle when he accidentally shot and killed a customer walking into the range.

An unnamed employee at the Hot Wells Shooting Range was cleaning a rifle in the range building when the weapon accidentally fired.

The bullet went through a wall and window before striking 36-year-old Joshua Luke Cummings in the head as he was in the range’s parking lot. Cummings, a married father of three, had just gotten out of his vehicle.

Cummings was rushed to a hospital in downtown Houston by a helicopter, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police believe the shooting was an accident, but homicide detectives are trying to determine whether the gun accidentally fired due to human error or a mechanical issue.

“Homicide will investigate all of the employees, witnesses and take control of the weapon. That weapon will be investigated also to find out if there’s anything wrong with it; if there was a malfunction, or if it was human error,” Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland said.…

MABANK, TX – Police have arrested a woman who fatally shot her two young daughters as they slept.

On Wednesday, police received a call from the husband of 29-year-old Sarah Nicole Henderson. He told them that his wife was acting paranoid and possibly suicidal.

He would call back to say everything was now fine, but police visited the home anyway. They would leave shortly afterwards finding nothing wrong, but Henderson’s husband would call back a few hours later.

In the 911 call you can listen to below, Jacob Henderson tells the dispatcher that Sarah had shot and killed her two daughters, 7-year-old KayLee, and 5-year-old Kenlie, as they slept in the living room.

“She was asleep when I went to sleep last night, and I woke up, she come in there and she goes, ‘Babe, I just shot the kids.’ And I, I didn’t want to believe it and I went in there and they were, they were dead,” a distraught Jacob Henderson can be heard telling the dispatcher.

In the background, Sarah can be heard asking: “What did I do, Lord?…

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman charged in her daughter’s death told police she didn’t call 911 for her dying daughter because her cell phone was low on minutes.

According to reports, 34-year-old Jessica Briones brought her 4-year-old daughter, Olivia, to a San Antonio police substation with severe head trauma.

She told officers that her daughter fell and hit her head four days ago but was now vomiting and would not wake up.

When asked why didn’t she call 911 immediately, Briones allegedly stated she couldn’t find her cell phone and that she was low on minutes.

Olivia would die the next day at the hospital, where doctors would find the girl had suffered injuries that were not consistent with a fall.

Along with multiple brain bleeds and severe brain swelling, Olivia also had a swollen nose, eight scars on the back of her head, a black eye, deflated left lung, a fractured vertebrae, a swollen wrist and two swollen arms, a bruised ankle and detached tissue in her upper lip from her gums.…
