CHARLESTON, SC – A 37-year-old man recently released from prison has been accused of kidnapping and raping a 4-year-old girl after beating and raping the girl’s mother.

On February 13, Brittany Todd was returning home with her 4-year-old daughter after taking two other children to school. What she didn’t know was that she was being watched.

Thomas Lawton Evans Jr., out of prison for only two weeks, had picked her at random and had followed her home.

Evans beat and raped Todd before tying her up and leaving the home with her daughter, Hiedi.

Police did not find the woman until later that evening after her kids’ school called to report she never came to pick up her children. Todd was taken to the hospital suffering from a brain bleed and facial fractures.

The following day, Evans and the girl were discovered in Riverside, Alabama after railroad workers found them both sleeping in a car in the woods near a railroad track.

According to relatives, Scott’s grandparents had raised him and put him through college at both The Citadel and Coastal Carolina University.…

ANDERSON, SC — A teen went all Matthew 5:29 the other day after she pulled out both of her eyeballs in front of the church she sometimes attended.

Elizabeth Hiott said she was working at the South Main Chapel and Mercy Center when she heard screams coming from outside and someone yelling for her to call 911.

“It was across the street, and I could see blood, and could hear her screaming, and I realized something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong,” Hiott said.

The “her” Hiott was talking about was a 19-year-old woman that sometimes attended the church but was not considered a regular member.

The “terribly wrong” part was the fact that the woman was holding one of her eyeballs she had pulled out of its socket.

“I immediately called 911 and it almost felt like the 911 dispatcher didn’t even believe me,” said Hiott. “That’s how crazy it was.”

By the time paramedics arrived, the teen had pulled out her second eyeball.

According to Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride, the teen was fighting anyone who came near her.…

COLUMBIA, SC – Police say a mother killed her estranged husband’s girlfriend before killing her two kids and then herself.

On the day before the shootings, police were at the home of 36-year-old Jessica Edens after her estranged husband called and asked them to check on their 5-year-old daughter.

He explained he and Edens were in court earlier that day regarding the custody of their 5-year-old daughter, and that Edens had sent him a disturbing text message.

Police noted that Edens and her two kids were about to sit down to eat popcorn and watch a movie, and that the 5-year-old girl was on the phone with her father.

Edens explained to police that she and her husband were in the middle of a divorce and that she planned to expose his year long affair with a co-worker, 28-year-old Meredith Rahme. Police had already gotten reports from Rahme about her receiving harassing text messages and phone calls from Edens.

There was even a post on homewreckers.com that seems to show Rahme’s picture that read: “This little girl has no self respect and no morals.…

CHARLESTON, SC – The 43-year-old man who wrapped electrical tape around his dog’s muzzle to stop her from barking has been sentenced to five years in prison.

William Dodson, 43, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges after he chained his 15-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier outside before wrapping her muzzle nine times with electrical tape.

The dog “Caitlyn” escaped and was found later in critical condition as the tape had cut off blood flow to her tongue. It took veterinarians at the Animal Society 36 hours to unravel the tape. Caitlyn survived but required multiple surgeries and lost part of her tongue.

According to Charleston Animal Society CEO Joe Elmore, Caitlyn is now living with a new family and thriving, but continued to suffer from anxiety and stress.

Dodson received five years in prison for what he did to his dog – the state’s maximum for animal cruelty. “I wish I could give you more,” said Judge Markley Dennis.

This sentence was handed down a day after Dodson was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a gun charge he got in a 2015 traffic stop.…

todd-kohlheppANDERSON COUNTY, SC – A woman missing since August has been found chained like a dog inside a metal storage container, and a registered sex offender has been arrested.

Back in August, 30-year-old Kala Brown and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Charlie Carver, disappeared from their apartment leaving cell phones, a car, and their dog behind.

The faded from the news a bit until recently, when someone started posting on Carver’s Facebook page.

The person making the posts claimed the couple were fine and just decided to leave.

Their family members did not believe the posts were coming from the couple, thinking the page had either been hacked, or the handiwork of the person(s) responsible for their disappearance.

We now know the fate of Brown, who was found alive inside a storage shed on property belonging to 45-year-old Todd Kohlhepp, a registered sex offender.

Acting on a tip provided by a sex crime investigator, deputies were on the property when they heard banging coming from the storage container

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said Brown was “chained inside the container like a dog.

puddle-of-mudCOLUMBIA, SC – The family of David Outlaw want answers after the 66-year-old drowned in a puddle at his nursing home after being left alone outside in his wheelchair during the height of Hurricane Matthew.

According to Richard Outlaw, his brother was in his wheelchair smoking a cigarette in the facility’s courtyard. A nurse told police that he refused to come in so she left him out there to smoke.

When she returned a few minutes later, she found him pinned beneath his electric wheelchair in a puddle of water. Outlaw was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy would later confirm the man had drowned.

“My brother survived Vietnam, car crashes and two strokes,” said Richard Outlaw. “Just to die in a puddle of water?”

Richard says someone should have at least kept a close eye on his brother if he wouldn’t come inside. His wife echoed her brother-in-law.

“How negligent is it to just leave him outside in a hurricane by himself?” said his wife, Karyl Outlaw.…

Lindsey D. HoneycuttMYRTLE BEACH, SC – Four people have been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting two 4-year-old children at multiple locations for five months.

According to Aiken police, the couple met 23-year-old Frank Frazier Jr. at a gas station thinking they were meeting him to purchase a car he was selling on Craigslist.

But it was all a scam designed to lure the couple to the location so they could be robbed of the cash they brought to purchase Frazier’s used car. Frazier, who was with an accomplice, pulled a gun on the couple and demanded the money.

However, while Frazier had his gun trained on the man, the woman pulled out her own handgun and shot him. The unidentified male who was with Frazier was able to flee the scene, but Frazier would be pronounced dead at it.

No charges are expected to be filed against the couple, who called 911 after the shooting and remained at the scene until police arrived.…

Marsha JohnsonCOVINGTON, GA — Police in Georgia need help identifying the man filmed snatching a woman’s purse in a Walmart parking lot, then running over and killing her.

Surveillance footage shows 65-year-old Marsha Johnson returning to her car at a Covington Walmart when she is approached by an unknown male.

The man violently snags Johnson’s purse, causing her to fall to the ground, before he jumps in a nearby car. As the man drives away, he runs over Johnson several times, killing her.

“There was no way they could not have known that they had run over something, from what we saw on the video,” said police Capt. Ken Malcolm.

Brandon TerrySPARTANBURG, SC – A couple were arrested Sunday after making repeated 911 calls to report seeing people and possums jumping out of their refrigerator and microwave.

Deputies said 32-year-old Brandon Terry and 28-year-old Casey Fowler gave the dispatcher the wrong address to their rental home, but police managed to track down the couple a few blocks away.

When asked if the couple had taken any drugs, they said they had not. They then showed the officers pictures they say proved that worms were coming out of the floor of their vehicle and pictures of “midgets and other people camouflaged.”

The officer looked at one of the photos and noted that it only showed a basketball goal and a tree. Terry informed the officer that he could not see the camouflaged midgets because on he could see him.

Field sobriety tests were conducted on the couple and both showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Terry’s test had to be restarted at least once because Terry stopped and said the deputy was touching his eyes.…
