David FloydBALDWYN, MS – 28-year-old David Floyd is has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after he allegedly set the residence in which he lived with his girlfriend and three children on fire early last Tuesday. His 26-year-old girlfriend escaped with the couple’s 18-month-old girl and two-month-old boy.

“The mother woke up because she felt the heat on her face,” said  Lee County Sheriff Department’s Fire Investigator Brian Kilgore. “She basically put the 18-month-old out the window, took the two-month-old with her and then went around front to see if she could get in to save the other daughter. She couldn’t so she ran next door and called 911.”

The 911 call about a house on fire came in at 2:39 a.m. A Lee County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at 2:46 a.m.; the fire department was close behind. Emergency personnel found seven-year-old Savannah in her bedroom. She had multiple burns to her face and arms as well as “severe internal injuries because of the smoke and heat.”

“The house had two bedrooms, one at each end and a living room area in the middle,” reported Kilgore.…

GrumpyKansas City, MO — Prosecutors have charged a 93-year-old man with second-degree murder in the death of his 95-year-old wife in what investigators are calling a homicide and attempted suicide.

“Yes, I killed her and then killed myself,” Harry Irwin reportedly asked paramedics. “Why am I awake?

According to police, the couple’s daughter arrived at the home Wednesday morning and found the bloodied Mrs. in the bedroom, and a bloody and unconscious Harry sitting in his recliner with self-inflicted stab wounds to the chest.

Harry later told police that his wife Grace had been arguing and screaming all night and he just couldn’t take it anymore, so he finally just “did her in.” He said he tried to stab himself in the heart afterwards, but must have aimed too low and hit a rib instead.

Harry went on to say that he didn’t remember exactly how he killed her, he just knew that he did.

The couple’s daughter said Harry called her at about 6:30 that morning and requested that she come to the house at 9 a.m.…

Madison, SD – Carl Ericsson, 73, was sentenced to life in prison for shooting former classmate, Norman Johnson, over a locker room incident that occurred more than 50 years ago.  Ericsson pleaded “guilty but mentally ill” to second-degree murder last month.

In January, Ericsson drove to Johnson’s house, rang the doorbell, confirmed his victim’s identity, and shot him dead.

Now, I’ve been known to hold a grudge or two, particularly against people I never really liked in the first place, but I could probably stand to take a few lessons from Mr. Ericsson.  After all, my methods of revenge are fairly lightweight by comparison, usually involving the surreptitious placement of my precious bodily fluids in items intended for my victim’s consumption.

It seems as though Johnson, who was a popular track star back in high school once placed a jockstrap on the head of Ericsson, who was serving as a student sports manager at the time.  I have no idea what a “student sports manager” is, but I’m going to assume that it’s something at least mildly humiliating; akin to being a water boy for the football team. …

Mesa, AZ – William Null, 41, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and two counts of burglary following the November 15th beating death of his aunt, 62-year old Cynthia Pesek.  It seems as though a 3-day argument over cigarettes prompted him permanently end their relationship.

The story begins as all good ones do; with a $50 carton of Indian-reservation-bought cigarettes and a dude with a soul-patch.  According to reports, Null had asked his neighbor to purchase the cigarettes for him.  However, when they delivered the smokes, he wasn’t able to reimburse them.  Pesek picked up the tab which, as far as I’m concerned, is the thoughtful thing to do when your deadbeat live-in nephew can’t pay for his own filthy habit.

This apparently wounded Null’s completely unfounded pride.  He was reportedly embarrassed by the whole affair but, instead of beating himself up over it all, it seems he reversed the blame, placing it squarely on Pesek.  The two argued over the incident for days until finally, with the aid of Mountain Dew and vodka, Null beat the living snot out of his aunt with a 48-inch wooden stick he would subsequently bury in the backyard.…

Police: Man Kills Grandma, Eats Waffles

April 15, 2011 at 9:12 am by

Queens, NY — Rosemarie Little took her grandson in after he found his mother dead at the age of 6 or 7. The vibrant, churchgoing 62-year-old spent the last 20 years of her life caring for him so he never felt that he was alone in this world. And what does she get in return? Suffocation by t-shirt.

Little’s grandson, 26-year-old Christopher Jackson was arrested after the woman’s body was found wrapped in a blanket in the basement of her home Monday evening.

During questioning, Jackson reportedly told investigators that he and his grandmother had been arguing about his marijuana intake. He said he grabbed a t-shirt and stuffed it in the woman’s mouth and secured it with rubber bands in order to keep her quiet. He then bound her wrists together with duct tape. Having worked up quite an appetite, Jackson then smoked three joints and sat down to a hearty breakfast consisting of six waffles.

When Little failed to show up for work Monday morning, an employee at the Manhattan law firm where she was employed called her sister, Denize Brewer.…

Poplar Bluff, MO — 28-year-old Jeremy McIntosh is being held in the Butler County jail on $1 million cash-only bond in connection with the beating death of 4-year-old Zoey Slagler.

According to police, Zoey’s parents, Jennifer and Adam Thrower, left her next-door with Jeremy and his wife, Jamie McIntosh, on Thursday. It was agreed that Zoey would spend the night with the couple and Jennifer would pick her up at about 4:00 p.m. the following day.

When Jennifer called Jeremy on Friday to inform him she was on her way home, he said he would just take Zoey over to her place. When Jennifer arrived home to check on her daughter, she found her unresponsive. Police say the severely bruised child had no pulse when first responders arrived at the home.

Jeremy was placed under arrest after he reportedly admitted to striking the child several times because she wouldn’t obey him and because she continued to cry for her mother and father. Autopsy results showed that Zoey died from blunt force trauma to the head.…

Glendale, AZ — In September of ’09, Veronica Linares’ 9-month-old daughter died after eating a packet of methamphetamine her mother had stashed next to the snacks in the bottom drawer of a dresser in the nursery. What? Like you don’t keep yours there, too…

The child, born with a heavy concentration of meth already in her system, was placed with a foster family shortly after birth and had only been back in her mother’s custody for a week when she died. According to police, CPS reports show Linares made statements about never wanting the kid and wishing the child was dead. Yet the baby was returned to the worthless meth-addicted incubator anyway….nice.

Shortly after the little girl’s death, Linares squished out another meth baby. That child, now a year old, was immediately taken by the state and placed into the care of other family members. Without pesky children to tie her down, Linares disappeared.

Police finally caught up with Linares on Wednesday and booked her on child abuse and second-degree murder charges.…

Bethany, OK — Reginald Bartlett told police he came home Saturday evening to find that his wife, 57-year-old Cathy Bartlett, had been stabbed to death. Bartlett hinted that the stabbing may have been the work of home intruders as a couple of drawers had been pulled open and items were strewn about the house. Before police could interview him, he was transported to a hospital because of his “distraught demeanor.” Once released, and after sitting through nearly three hours of questioning, Bartlett confessed, telling investigators he “snapped” when his wife caught him watching porn. According to him, Cathy walked into the computer room that evening, took one look at what was on the computer monitor, and began yelling at him about some bank statement. Cathy apparently believed her husband had been blowing dough on porn, and at some point during the altercation, hauled off and slapped him upside the head. That’s about the time he got to stabbin’. After stabbing her multiple times, Bartlett told police he pulled some of her clothes off to make it look like his wife had been raped, then emptied a drawer out on the floor to make it look like the house had been burglarized.…

Queens, NY — According to police, 53-year-old Xiao Aiu Cai was taken into custody Tuesday evening after throwing a 2-year-old boy to his death from a seventh-floor balcony. The child, identified by family members as Jerry Zhao, was pronounced dead at New York Hospital shortly after going into cardiac arrest. Police say Cai, who lived in the apartment with the child and his parents, got into an argument with her own daughter and, for some reason, lashed out at the toddler, grabbed hold of him and tossed him off the balcony. “She (Cai) attempted thereafter to throw herself off, but was pulled off by other people in the apartment. The woman is not related to the baby in any way. It is just a sad and tragic incident,” said Richard Brown, Queens District Attorney. The whole thing happened so fast, Jerry’s mother could do little more than watch in horror as her son went over the edge. Cai, while under arrest, was hospitalized and is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. She has been charged with second-degree murder.…

Springfield, MO – Police and paramedics were called to Tatianna Light’s home Tuesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call in which she reported her 2-month-old son, Kaiden, was not breathing. Tatianna told officers she had placed the baby on his back on her bed and went to do laundry. When she returned about ten minutes later, Kaiden had rolled onto his stomach and had blood in his nose, so she called 911. EMT’s were unable to resuscitate the baby and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Tatianna was questioned again. This time, her story was a little different. She told officers she undressed the child, cleaned him, and tried to perform CPR for about 30-45 minutes. And after calling a family member for advice, she finally got around to calling 911. Those slight discrepancies led to further questioning down at the station, where Tatianna eventually admitted to smothering the infant with pillows. She told police she held the pillows over Kaiden’s face for about an hour. Within that time span, she lifted the pillow and discovered Kaiden was still breathing, so she continued to hold the pillows over his face until he stopped.…

Zachary Bowers Is Obedient

June 14, 2010 at 4:57 am by

Independence, AR – The handsome young devil you see to the left is Zachary Bowers. Zachary just celebrated his 23rd birthday last Thursday, but instead of ice cream and cake, he was presented with a murder charge. Happy Birthday, Zachary! He apparently has one of those ‘instant asshole’ type personalities – all you gotta do is add alcohol. According to authorities, Zachary had been knockin’ back the vodka on June 7, and got in a heated verbal argument with his father, 54-year-old David Bowers. Though it was well known that Zachary was often violent and combative when under the influence of alcohol, the elder Bowers reportedly threw his .40-caliber Smith & Wesson at his son and dared him to shoot. Hmmm…probably not one of your better ideas, dad. Ever the obedient son, Zachary fired. David Bowers died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Zachary fled the scene after the shooting, but officers caught up with him a couple days later. Charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, he sits behind bars on $500,000 bond.…

Get Off My Lawn!

May 12, 2010 at 11:39 am by

Chicago, IL – Charles Clements is a man who loves his lawn. Ok, the love borders on the slightly psychotic obsessive side. According to neighbors, Clements once won some sort of beautification and lawn upkeep award and was known to threaten those who dare step foot on his precious lawn. Last Sunday evening, threat became reality after Joshua Funches’ fox terrier, Gucci, lifted its leg and pissed on said lawn. After a verbal argument between the two men, Clements pulled a gun. According to witnesses, Funches remarked, Next time you pull out a pistol, why don’t you use it?” BANG! Funches was shot dead. Clements, a former Marine, then walked into his house and changed clothes. When the cops showed up, Clements was waiting for them in his garage. “I knew you were coming for me,” he told police. “That’s why I changed my clothes. I knew you were coming for me.” Clements, 69, was ordered held on $3 million bail and is looking at charges of first- and second-degree murder.…
