Since then, federal agents have joined K-9 units and helicopters to search the wooded areas near the family’s rural home, as well the grounds of Camp Lejeune.

Deorr KunzLEADORE, ID — Six months after 2-year-old Deorr Kunz Jr. vanished from an Idaho campground, police are naming his parents as suspects.

For those of you unaware of this case, the toddler disappeared from the Timber Creek Campground last July while camping with his family.

His parents, Deorr Kunz Sr. and Jessica Mitchell, thought the boy was being watched by his grandfather when they decided to do some exploring. When they returned and realized their son wasn’t with the rest of the family, the boy’s grandfather told them he thought he was with them.

After 30 minutes of searching, the family called police. What followed was an intensive search using police, search and rescue teams, dogs, people on horseback and atvs, and even a helicopter.

Approximately 150 people scoured a 2.5 mile radius surrounding the campground, sonar equipment was used to search a reservoir located a half a mile from where the boy was last seen, and a wolf’s den was even searched.

Absolutely no trace of Kunz has ever been found.…

Deorr KunzLEADORE, ID — Deorr Kunz Jr., the 2-year-old boy who vanished from an Idaho campground four days ago, is still missing.

Last Friday, the toddler was with family at the Timber Creek Campground when his parents, Deorr Kunz Sr. and Jessica Mitchell, decided to some exploring on their own.

They had assumed the boy’s grandfather would watching him while they were gone, but when they returned they noticed their son wasn’t with the group. When they asked the boy’s grandfather about Deorr, he replied that he thought he’d went with them.

The family immediately began searching the area for the toddler before calling police about 30 minutes later. A search team was quickly formed and consisted of police, search and rescue teams, dogs, people on horseback and atvs, and even a helicopter.

Approximately 150 people scoured the campground, as well as a 2.5 mile radius surrounding the campground, but no trace of Kunz was found. This has lead some, including the boy’s parents,  to believe the little boy was abducted.…

Mike and Tina CarecciaMARICOPA, AZ – The bodies of a couple missing for more than a week have been found buried in the backyard of a former employee.

Mike and Tina Careccia were last seen leaving their home to run errands at around 5 a.m. on June 22. Mike’s teenage son called 911 around 7:15 that night to report he was worried about his father and stepmother as they had not returned home and that their phones were off.

Investigators would find the couple’s car a few hours later, abandoned a half-mile away from their home and covered in dirt. In the days that followed, police, family and friends began searching the area for the couple using ATV’s dogs and a helicopter. In that time, there was no activity with the couple’s phones, bank accounts, credit cards or social media accounts.

No word on what lead police to bring a backhoe to the backyard of a home located a couple of blocks away from where the couple lived, but on Wednesday night they used it to start digging and recovered two bodies believed to be the missing couple.…

Kathryn StalbaumWAUKESHA, WI – I usually hold off on posting missing kid stories because they always seem to be found, alive or dead, before I even get them typed up. But Waukesha officials are asking for the public’s help in finding 15-year-old Kathryn Stalbaum, a freshman at Kettle Moraine High School who was last seen early Tuesday morning.

Stalbaum was last seen around 6:15 a.m. at her home in Town of Genesee. She missed the bus to school that morning and texted a friend to let them know she would ride her bike to school. She never made it there, and she hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

“Kathryn has not an individual that has a history of running away. Her family has a good, close relationship with her, where she maintains contact, so the fact that she’s been gone for the time frame that she has is unusual,” Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department Inspector Eric Severson said.

Stalbaum is about 5’7”, 120 pounds, has long brown hair, blue eyes, has braces and wears contacts.…

Kyle DubeBANGOR, ME —Earlier this month we reported that 20-year-old Kyle Dube had been charged with the murder of 15-year-old Nichole Cable. Yesterday an affidavit reveals that Nichole died after Kyle intended to kidnap Nichole, hide her and then find her so he could be deemed a hero. Unfortunately for Nichole, Kyle is an idiot who accidentally killed her in the process.

Nichole went missing on Mother’s Day after leaving her home to meet someone she had met on Facebook named Bryan Butterfield. A week later, after receiving information from several sources, police found Nicole’s dead body in a wooded area. The following day, Kyle Dube was charged with intentional and knowing murder.

At the time we first reported on this, there were not a lot of details regarding the relationship between Kyle and Nichole. The information in the affidavit fills in some of those blanks. Turns out Kyle had made sexual advances towards Nichole, but Nichole had turned him down. Kyle then created a fake Facebook profile using someone else’s identity and began communicating online with Nichole.…

Kyle DubeBANGOR, Maine – Police have charged 20-year-old Kyle Dube with the murder of Nichole Cable, the 15-year-old who has been missing since Mother’s Day.

According to the girl’s mother, Cable was last seen near her home before she went to meet Dube, whom she met through Facebook. Dozens of law enforcement officers, using aircraft and dogs, and hundreds of civilian volunteers, spent days searching for Cable.

On the Wednesday following her disappearance, Cable’s mother pleaded for her daughter’s return during a press conference.

“I would like to say, ‘Nichole, we love you and if you’re scared because you ran away — you’re not in trouble. It’s OK,’” Kristine Wiley said. “If somebody has her — I don’t care [what happened] — take her to a gas station or a park. I don’t know what else to say. I’m waiting for you to call me and I love you.”

The day after Cable was reported missing, Dube posted the following to his Facebook regarding his girlfriend, who is not Cable:

OK so I don’t with the droma.

Westminster, CO – Police are now saying that there is a definitive link between the murder of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway and the attempted abduction of a jogger last May.

Jessica was last seen Oct 5 after leaving her home to walk to school. Her dismembered body was later discovered in Pattridge Park Open Space near an abandoned mining shack.

Last Memorial Day, a woman was jogging on Ketner Lake Open Space when a man tried to cover her face with a chemical-soaked rag. She was able to escape and described her attacker as an 18 to 30 year-old light-skinned male with brown hair and a medium build, about 5-feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Police say these to incidents are related, but are not revealing exactly how they have linked the two cases. “We are able to make a definitive link,” said Westminster Police Department spokesman Trevor Materasso. “We recognize the public may have questions about what constitutes that definitive link and we’re asking for their patience.…

Westminster, CO — Twelve different Colorado agencies have expanded their search for 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway after the missing girl’s backpack was found six miles from her home.

Jessica was last seen Friday morning after leaving her home to walk three blocks to Chelsea Park where she was to meet with friends and then walk to Witt Elementary School. When Jessica never made it to the park, her classmates continued on without her. By 10 that morning, police called her home but her mother, who worked nights, was sleeping. It wasn’t until she woke up eight hours later that she called police after hearing the message informing her Jessica was not at school.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday a man and his wife returned to their home in a neighborhood over six miles away and noticed a backpack on the sidewalk that wasn’t there when they left earlier. It stuck out, but because kids leave items around the neighborhood occasionally, it wasn’t so out of place that they went to investigate. When it was still there the next day, the man and a neighbor looked inside the backpack and found a set of keys and a water bottles with “Jessica Ridgeway” written on them.…

Evansdale, Iowa — A massive group of volunteers were out this weekend looking for 10-year-old Lyric Cook and 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins, the two cousins who went missing while riding their bicycles on Friday. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, they were not found.

The two girls were last seen leaving their grandmother’s home after being given permission to go out on a short bike ride. When they did not return home, police were called. Later that afternoon, their bikes were found abandoned  near a bike trail.

By Sunday, the volunteer search effort grew to over 900 people and included local authorities and volunteers, as well as state and national agencies that included the FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They searched a 12-square mile area, including dragging a 5-acre lake, on foot, horseback, and 4-wheelers while also using search and rescue dogs.

But even with all that, searchers have found absolutely no trace of the girls. “It’s like they vanished,” Richard Abben of the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office said.…

EDGERTON, MO — Police have found the bodies of two sisters, 19-year-old Britny Haarup and 22-year-old Ashley Key, who were reported missing from Haarup’s home on Friday.

Police were called by Haarup’s fiancé, Matt Meyers, after he came home Friday to find the sisters were not there and his 6- and 18-month old daughters had been left alone and in the same crib.

Reports are that there was also blood on the couch, a truck was missing as well as some guns that had been in the home. They would be found Saturday on an abandoned road. There were no signs of foul play, and nothing was found during an initial search of the surrounding fields.

Fearing an abduction but hoping that the two women were still alive, family members gathered that night and held a candle-light vigil to pray for their safe return.

“Whoever has them, give them a phone, have them call us, put an end to this,” the girl’s father, Paul Haarup pleaded.

On Sunday, the Platte County Sheriff’s Department said they were speaking with a person of interest in the case and have executed two search warrants. …

VAN BUREN, Ark. — The body of a missing teenager may have been found stuffed in a barrel buried on property owned by the family of the convicted rapist suspected of being with her last.

Angela Allen, 16, was last seen on Feb 10 at around 7:30 p.m. after telling her grandmother that she was going out for a walk in the neighborhood. When she never returned, her family called police to report her as a possible runaway.

After doing some investigating, police found that Allen had been communicating with 36-year-old Lloyd Jones, a convicted rapist, on a social networking site. The pair had also been texting for the last few days, Jones allegedly posing as a boy in the 11th grade.

“They conversed back and forth,” said Chief Kenneth Bell with the Van Buren Police Department. “He groomed her. They built a relationship. He picked her up.”

Jones was eventually picked up and placed in police custody on an aggravated assault charge. He eventually gave police information that led to them to a plastic barrel buried three feet deep in a shallow grave on property owned by Jones’ family.…
