SALISBURY, NC – The adoptive brother of Erica Parsons, the North Carolina girl who was murdered by her adoptive parents, has been charged with having two wives.

In a classy update peripheral to the Erica Parsons abuse/murder case, adoptive brother James Parsons, now 25, has been arrested for bigamy.

Many regular readers will no doubt remember this story. Erica Parsons, of Rowan County, North Carolina, was reported missing in July of 2013, which would turn out to be about two years after she was last seen alive.

A cover story about her having gone to live with a biological grandmother seems to have worked for awhile, but the skein of deceit and lies quickly unraveled when her adoptive parents, Sandy and Casey Parsons, were arrested for cashing post-disappearance adoption assistance checks to the tune of $12,000.

These fraud charges led to 2016 convictions for the pair, and the trial dragged a lot of dirty laundry into the open.

Erica, who was adopted as a newborn, “lived a life of servitude and abuse,” including starvation, countless broken bones, and confinement.…

Erica ParsonsROWAN COUNTY, NC – Five years after she disappeared, and three years after she was reported missing, the skeletal remains of 13-year-old Erica Parsons have been found.

For those of you who may not remember this case, here’s a quick refresher:

Erica was adopted by Casey and Sandy Parsons when she was two weeks old. In 2013, Erica’s step-brother reported her missing, but investigators would learn no one had seen the girl since 2011.

Casey and Sandy said they’d sent her to live with a relative in Asheville, but it turned out the relative didn’t exist. Over the next several months, police searched several properties but could not find Erica.

In 2014, Casey and Sandy were convicted on 76 federal charges for taking benefits for adoption assistance during the time Erica was missing. Casey was sentenced to 10 years, and Sandy was sentenced to eight years.

In July, Erica’s aunt and adoptive sister said they believed Erica was dead and that Casey and Sandy Parsons knew where Erica’s body was located.…

Erica ParsonsROWAN COUNTY, N.C. —  Here’s an odd one out of North Carolina that is starting to get some press.

Erica Parsons, who would be 15 right now, was reported missing by her older brother on July 30. While this is troubling, what makes the situation worse is that Erica was last seen in 2011.

Casey and Sandy Parsons, who adopted Erica when she was two weeks old, have told investigators that sometime around July 2011, they were contacted by someone claiming to be Erica’s biological grandmother.

After some phone conversations and Erica visiting the woman several times in Asheville, the Parsons claim that Erica informed them she did not want to come home and wanted to live with her biological grandmother. The Parsons did not protest, and say they have not heard from their adoptive daughter since.

It has now been revealed that Erica’s biological grandmother died five years ago. So either the Parsons allowed Erica to live with a stranger and just haven’t given a shit about her safety ever since, or something even more sinister has happened.…
