ODESSA, TX – Police have arrested a man who beat a 14-month-old child and glued her eyes and mouth shut.

Police were called to a motel room where a woman said her husband, 29-year-old Johnie Lee Carter, had assaulted their 14-month-old daughter before fleeing the scene.

She told police Carter choked the girl with one hand and punched her head and ribs with the other before using super glue on her eyes and mouth.

Aside from finding a Crazy Glue stick in the room, police also found a 2-month-old baby under a pile of pillows and blankets. The woman said Carter had covered the baby before assaulting the toddler because the infant had been crying.

Carter was arrested 10 days later after traveling 230 miles away to El Paso. He has been charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Not surprisingly, Carter has severe anger management issues. He’d previously served time for domestic violence and violating a protective order.

This isn’t the first time we’ve reported on a parent using super glue on a child, nor is it the worst.…

MESQUITE, TX – A daycare owner is in some trouble after her childcare methods were called into question, specifically her method of leaving children tied to car seats for up to seven hours per day.

Any daycare owner will tell you that one of the biggest challenges of the business is keeping the little tykes occupied.

Rebecca Anderson found a creative solution that has her in hot water with the authorities.

Said authorities had their attention directed to the 60-year-old Mesquite, TX woman, who ran a licensed daycare out of her home, by the parents of a six-month-old who had put a video camera in the infant’s car seat.

The video that they captured showed part of Anderson’s modus operandi: after yanking the kid out of the car seat, she fed him something out of a syringe.

This was on Thursday, September 13th. Police raided her house of horrors the next afternoon.

When they served the search warrant, Anderson told them that there were five children on site. There were actually nine.…

MISSOULA, MT — Man accused of leaving a 5-month-old baby in the woods after a car crash because the baby was “very heavy.”

Francis Carlton Crowley is unconscionably lazy. And just a teensy bit high.

On Saturday, September 8th, deputies were dispatched to Lolo Hot Springs, Montana after receiving a disturbance complaint involving a man making threats and claiming to have a gun.

When they finally located Crowley, he was disoriented and nonsensical, but they were able to determine two things (besides the obvious fact that he was as fucked-up as a football bat); one: he had been in a car crash at some point earlier in the day, and two: a five-month-old baby that had been “left in his care” was missing.

The latter of the two was obviously more important to deputies, but Crowley was of little assistance; he wasn’t sure what had become of the infant. Maybe he was lying on the side of the road, maybe he was buried in the woods. All Crowley was certain of was the reason he abandoned the infant: the child was “very heavy.”

A search team consisting of local, state and federal authorities scoured the area.…

ST PETERSBURG, FL – A Florida man has been accused of burning “smiley” faces on multiple children.

Joshua Mize is a happy guy. And he just wants to spread the smiles.

Literally.

The 21-year-old Florida Man was arrested on September 18th after authorities learned that he had shared a smile with a 5-year-old boy that he babysitting.

Sounds perfectly innocuous, doesn’t it? Hell, compared to the average story on the Demon, sharing a smile with a kid is positively angelic, right? Not the way Mize does it.

He uses a lighter.

Sources don’t say who left the five-year-old in the care of this Trailer-Park-Boys-lookin’ maniac, but we do know that when they got the kid back, he had a smiley face burned onto his right knee. The boy would later tell police that Mize held him down in the living room and used the lighter to give him his new decoration.

What’s more, authorities would learn that this was not Mize’s first attempt at butane-fueled body art.

It seems that, just the day before, he had given a smile to an eight-year-old boy who was left in his care.…

EMERSON, NE – A Nebraska couple have pleaded not guilty to charges they deprived their two teenage boys from food and showers.

The Busker’s kids are hungry. And stinky.

Why? Because the Buskers are assholes. Cheap assholes.

On Wednesday August 8th, Blaine Busker, 41, and Donella Busker, 38, of Emerson, Nebraska, were arrested for the mistreatment of two teenaged boys that were under their care.

Local media reports refer to the boys as their “sons,” but the story linked above notes that the Buskers had received a total of $5,475 from the state of Nebraska “from February through June to care for the children,” and the duration of the abuse was specified as being from January 1st through June 18th, so it looks like the boys are actually foster children.

Which doesn’t excuse the starvation, privation and abuse that they had to endure.

Even with all that money coming in, the Buskers begrudged the two (presumably) growing boys proper nutrition, so much so that they kept the refrigerator and kitchen cupboards padlocked to prevent any surreptitious snacking.…

PARKERSBURG, WV – A West Virginia mother added to the long list of ineffective, abusive methods of stopping a child from crying when she bleached her baby.

On July 11th, staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia notified local police about a 16-month-old male patient with “suspicious injuries.” The child had chemical burns on his face, back and shoulders.

I’ve checked multiple sources, and no one has specified what story the child’s mother told when she brought him to the hospital, but whatever line of bullshit it was, hospital staff weren’t buying it.

Police visited the child’s mother, 27-year-old Sylvia Lynn Eden, at the house where the injuries occurred. As often happens when a child is injured by abuse, Mom blamed Big Sister, age four.

It seems that Big Sister decided to spray Little Brother in the face with bleach while he was napping, for no apparent reason, on July 9th.

Cops weren’t buying what she was selling, either, so they took her in for further questioning at the Parkersburg Police Department.…

ST PETER, MN –  A couple in Minnesota have been arrested after they allegedly abandoned a 5-year-old boy in the woods as punishment for wetting himself.

Regular readers of the Demon know that there are all sorts of ways to deal with incontinent children, many of which are not recommended by Dr. Spock, or local authorities.

Torture, dehydration and even death have been the result of innocent enuresis at the hands of some of our Featured Parents.

Some people, though, prefer the road less traveled. These are the pioneers that settled the Wild Wild West, the astronauts that took us to the moon, and the contrarian crapbags that find new and creative ways to degrade and abuse their fellow human beings.

Meet Gregory Wilson, 32, and Lynda Michel, 42. When their five-year-old son accidentally pissed himself, they thumbed their noses at criminal convention and got all Hansel-and-Gretel on the kid.

On August 28th, a passing motorist spotted a young boy crying and walking in the pouring rain along the side of Highway 169 south of St.…

ECTOR COUNTY, TX – A 19-year-old woman has been accused of beating her 3-month-old daughter to death with a dresser drawer.

Klarissa Ramirez brought her daughter to the Medical Center Hospital emergency room with her unresponsive daughter.

She claimed that she and the girl’s father had fed her and placed her in a baby seat in the living room. They walked away only to return and find her unresponsive.

After examing the girl, doctors found she was suffering from fractured ribs on both sides of her torso as well as a fractured skull.

When confronted with the fact that the injuries her daughter suffered did not match up to her story, Ramirez admitted she was solely responsible.

She said she had squeezed her daughter and then struck her in the head with a dresser drawer. Ramirez was arrested on May 8 and charged with injuries to a child. She bonded out the next day.

The charges against Ramirez were upgraded to capital murder in July after her daughter died and the cause of death was ruled a homicide.…

AZTEC, NM – Two teens have been charged with child abuse after videos surfaced of them abusing an 8-year-old boy with Down Syndrome.

Two girls are dealing with a lot of hate right now after the family of the victim released two videos on social media in hopes that making the videos public will ensure the girls do not get a slap on the wrist.

The abuse happened last year at the hands of Lindsey Moss and Dallas Baron, who are both now 19-years-old, as they were babysitting Bricen Greenhaus.

Of course the girls recorded themselves abusing the boy, with one video showing the boy being coaxed to smoke from a bong and another video showing one of the girls throwing an empty water jug at his face.

Their antics came to light after one of their friends saw the videos and was so disturbed by what they were seeing that they sent them to Bricen’s father this past June.

The girls were subsequently arrested and charged with child abuse, but Bricen’s family wants the public to be aware of exactly what the girls were doing to their son.…

PEKIN, IL – A man has pleaded guilty to beating his 18-month-old niece so badly that he broke her leg in half.

The incident happened last August after 21-year-old Kahlus Adams and his wife picked up the toddler and her siblings.

Once back at their residence, it wasn’t long before they made a call to the girl’s parents to inform them she was at the hospital. According to Adams, while his wife was away, the girl had injured herself after falling off a couch.

Doctors examined the girl and found her injuries were way too severe to have been caused from a simple fall. She had numerous injuries, including a leg broke in half, a broken arm, and bleeding on the brain.

She spent several days in the hospital for several days but, luckily for her and Adams, she survived.

After being confronted with the evidence that his “couch” story was not adding up, Adams admitted he’d caused the girl’s injuries after he became infuriated with the girl when she would not stop crying.…

LAS VEGAS, NV – A couple have been arrested after the woman’s missing 3-year-old was found murdered at Lake Mead.

On Sunday morning, 20-year-old Cassie Smith called 911 to report her son, 3-year-old Daniel Theriot, was missing.

She said she had taken her son to Sunset Park to feed the ducks, but when she took her eyes off of him to use her phone he had seemingly disappeared.

Police immediately began a huge search effort that included shutting down the park and checking cars as they left. But they also began doubting Smith’s version of events when they received info from other park-goers.

No one at the park remembered seeing Smith and her son at the park that morning, nor did anyone remember seeing Smith searching for him at the park.

“We started doubting if the three-year-old was ever at the park,” said homicide detective Ray Spencer. “We suspected some foul play was involved.”

Early Monday morning investigators would have their suspicions confirmed when Daniel’s body was found near Lake Mead National Recreation Area.…

ANCHORAGE, AK — A mother has been charged with murder after two of her baby daughters die two years apart.

Last November, 23-year-old Stephany LaFountain called emergency services to report her 13-month-old daughter was not breathing.

The girl was taken to the hospital where she would die four days later. It would later be determined that the girl had died from lack of oxygen to the brain.

Looking into LaFountain’s past, investigators learned that she had lost another daughter in a similar fashion two years prior.

In 2015, while in a relationship with a different man, LaFountain had a 4-month-daughter that died. Police did not believe the death was the result of foul play at that time.

But now? After LaFountain had lost two baby girls in the same way within two years?

“The autopsy results and medical records for both children showed that they were entirely healthy, with no genetic abnormalities, no diseases, and no injuries,” police stated in a news release.

Investigators started to focus their attention on LaFountain and decided to check out her Internet activity.…
