Hey, wondering where we went? No worries, we are just changing format and conducting some testing before we flip the switch. For now, you can get all of our new stuff by clicking here.. We aren't quite ready to switch quite yet, but the end result will be a continuous flow of dark and often day-wrecking content from our regular authors as well as other members. It's a work in progress and we are still working on some design and function stuff, but the updated content is now coming through.

Vaughn Family

June 19, 2007 at 8:55 am by

I’m just getting around to posting about this as I didn’t feel like posting much the last couple of days and I figured they would have arrested the dad by now. But they have not. For anyone not aware of this story, the family pictured above (Kimberly Vaughn, 34, Christopher Vaughn, 32, Blake, 8; Abigayle, 12 and Cassandra, 11) pulled their Ford Expedition off of a highway and by the husband’s account, the mother opened fire and killed her two daughters, her son and after shooting the husband in the thigh, herself.

Of course, red flags must have went off immediately, and not just because all of the pictures of this guy make him look like a douche, but also because people are wondering why he didn’t use any of the cell phones left in the vehicle to call 911, or the more glaring fact that the kids were all shot multiple times but he was only shot in the thigh.

News is now reporting that three week before this event, the couple had visited a shooting range.…

I’m sure everyone has heard of the story by now, and 11-year-old boy is camping with his family when later that night, a black bear rips open the tent he is sleeping in and drags him out into the forest while still in his sleeping bag. The parents heard the boy screaming but were not able to locate him and thought that it was an abduction. The boys remains were found 400 yards away and the bear that was later killed was confirmed as the bear involved with the attack. This is also the first bear-related death for Utah.

The crazy thing is that a family that was in the same spot the day before were also harassed by a bear, with the bear actually ripping open a tent and taking a bite out of a pillow. Luckily, no one was injured in that confrontation, but that family is wondering why the family of the slain boy was not notified of a bear having been in the area.

The entire story is horrific for me for a couple of reasons.…

Jessie Davis Missing

June 18, 2007 at 4:14 pm by

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — 26-year-old Jessie Davis has been missing since Wednesday after talking to her mother over the phone around 9:20 p.m. The mother went to check on Jessie the following morning after repeated tries to contact her. Once inside, she found toppled furniture, the scattered contents of her purse and a pool of bleach on the floor and Jessie’s 2-year-old son in his room and in a dirty diaper. He told his grandmother that his “Mommy is in the rug” and some sites are reporting that a rug is also missing from the home.

The house showed no sign of forced entry or that a struggle had ensued. Jessie’s vehicle and a purse were still at the residence and a cell phone and comforter are missing. The father of the 2-year-old and the unborn baby are the same. He is estranged from Jessie Davis as well as a police officer. Mrs Davis is 5’4″ tall, 135 pounds, blond hair, hazel eyes and nine months pregnant. anyone with information is encouraged to call the Stark County Sheriff’s Office at 330-430-3684

Diablo the Movie

June 18, 2007 at 2:05 pm by

Seems as if it is official. Legendary Films website lists Diablo in their In Development section. Diablo is a hack and slash video game created by Blizzard in 1996. It was followed by expansion packs and a sequel. The original game entailed the player saving the town of Tristram, a town beset by the demon Diablo and his minions.

Something else worth noting in regards to Legendary Films In Development section…aside from Diablo, Superman 2, World of Warcraft and Clash of the Titans are also listed.

Fallout 3 Screenshots and More Game Info

June 18, 2007 at 10:42 am by

July 2007 issue of Game Informer has a bunch of information on Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 3.

No Mutants Allowed has posted some scanned images from the article as well. The portion of the article that has me most excited, as well as relieved, was some insight into how combat would be handled.

“Whatever your choices, every aspect of character creation is based firmly in the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system that was utilized in the original Fallout games. Of your 14 skills, you can tag three of them to grow at a faster rate as you level up. Every other level, you choose a perk, a special talent that may give you small bonuses in certain situations.”

“To do so, most players will find themselves taking advantage of the innovative combat system that Bethesda has developed for the game. The Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.) is what assures that this first-person game so chock full of guns doesn’t become an FPS. “We don’t want to be rewarding twitch play,” Howard says. “It’s not an action game.

GTA IV Episodic Content Exclusive to 360

June 16, 2007 at 3:05 pm by

More bad news for the PS3 as it is now being reported that GTA IV, coming out for both the PS3 and XBox 360, will only have episodic content available for the 360.

No reasons have been given as to why this decision has been made, but speculation has run from Microsoft money to PS3 development difficulties ever since Tuesday when Take-Two’s Q2 financial report was released. The report stated that the episodic content would be released on 360 during the 2008 fiscal year and did not mention the PlayStation 3.

A company representative later told GI.biz, “The Grand Theft Auto IV episodic content is exclusive to Xbox 360.

Capcom Joins Steam

June 13, 2007 at 9:32 am by

Steam, Valve’s digital distribution service, has now got quite the collection of games. It was first developed as a way for Valve to get their games out without buyers having to go to a store to purchase the them. Since then, Steam has quite the collection of games from other developers as well. Aside from Valve games such as the Half-Life franchise, Take-Two offers Civilization III, IV as well as Pirates!, Majesco added Bloodrayne and Advent Rising and Double Fine Productions added Psychonauts.

Now Capcom is entering the Steam fold, as you will be able to download PC ports of Devil May Cry 3, Onimusha 3 and on June 26, Lost Planet.

With the PC market becoming a larger part of our business, we’re naturally focusing our attention on digital distribution,” said Mark Beaumont, executive vice president and officer of Capcom’s American and European consumer software publishing. “Steam is the right place for us to go with our titles. Valve has created a huge installed base of gamers who naturally fit with the profiles of the titles that Capcom develops.

Gamestop Reveals Halo 3 XBox 360 Controllers

GameStop revealed the “limited edition” controllers and headset for all you Halo fans. The two controllers and wireless headset are $59.99 each, and the artwork is designed by Todd McFarlane. They also come with a Halo figurine from McFarlane toys. Even those the controllers cost 10 dollars more than the normal ones, I have no doubt they will sell just fine.

Mother Puts Her Baby in Trunk of Car

June 12, 2007 at 9:20 am by

The mother of the 3-month-old found locked in the trunk of a car has been arrested on charges of neglect of a dependent, criminal confinement and false informing.

April Finch admitted to placing her baby in the trunk of her car around 9:30 p.m. She then took a shower and called 911 to report her baby was missing and that the biological father may have been involved with the disappearance. While police were at the home, Finch’s husband told investigators that he could hear the baby crying from within the trunk of the car. The baby was taken out of the trunk at around 12:55 a.m. and was in good condition.

Finch initially told investigators that she didn’t know why she did it, but she later said she did it to get attention.

Man Amputates Own Leg with Pocketknife

June 11, 2007 at 8:12 am by

Al Hill, 66, had a tree fall on his leg and trap him while he was cutting trees in a remote location. With no cellular phone service, Hill stayed pinned and alone for 11 hours before deciding to free himself by amputating his leg with a pocket knife. Once freed, he made it about two miles where at that time he was able to use his cell phone to call for help.

11 hours? I dunno but I think I could have held out just a wee bit longer. That one guy from Colorado waited five days before taking off his arm after he got pinned by a boulder. Still an amazing story, I guess. The guy was 66 and he never went into shock. What he may lack in patience, he surely has in badassedness. So far, he and his family have also declined all interviews.

Brothers Found Dead in Trunk of Car

June 11, 2007 at 8:01 am by

Two young brothers, 8-year-old Chase Baker and 11-year-old Coty Baker. were found dead in the trunk of their mother’s 1996 Audi. The grandmother of the brothers had called police after not locating the boys after searching a few hours. The boys were found 4 hours later, around midnight, in the mom’s trunk. The state medical examiner indicated the boys died of hyperthermia. Investigators are also stating that this is just a horrible accident and that “there was evidence that they were alive in the trunk.”

This is like the three boys who died in a trunk of a car in Camden, N.J. a couple years back. As with this case, no one looked in the trunk of the car until much later in the search, and way too late.
