Vanessa MarcottePRINCETON, MA – Investigators say Vanessa Marcotte, the 27-year-old found dead after going jogging on Sunday, may have been sexually assaulted and set on fire.

Marcotte was visiting her mother when she went out for a jog between 1 and 4 p.m. on Brooks Station Road. When she failed to return and would not answer her phone, her family contacted police.

A K-9 unit would find Marcotte’s body in the woods off Brooks Station Road only a half-mile from her mother’s home.

A source close to the investigation said police are investigating the possibility that she was sexually assaulted and set on fire as she was found with burns on her head, hands and feet.

Authorities have not released exactly how Marcotte died, but do say her death was a homicide. Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said it is not clear if the killing was random and urged residents to be careful.

“We have a horrible set of facts, horrible circumstance,” Early told reporters during a news conference. “People should be concerned.”

Early also said there was ‘nothing at this point’ that connected Marcotte’s murder to Karina Vetrano, the female jogger who was sexually assaulted and murdered in Queens last week.…

Caleb Thomas SchwabKANSAS CITY, KS – Caleb Thomas Schwab, son of Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives Scott Schwab, was killed Sunday at the Schlitterbahn Water Park while on the park’s 168-foot water slide.

For those of you unaware of the Verruckt water slide,  riders sit in a three-person raft and are secured with a velcro-type seat belt across the waist and shoulders. The combined weight of riders per raft must be between 400 and 550 pounds

The raft then goes down a 168 foot drop before going back and then down a 50 foot drop. Here’s a first-person video of the ride for those interested.

An official cause of the accident and Caleb’s injuries have not been released, but witnesses say the 10-year-old flew into the air after the first steep drop, causing him to hit safety netting located on the sides of the slide.

Hitting the net caused Caleb to suffer some kind of traumatic injury, as video from a news helicopter showed a significant amount of blood had pooled at the bottom the the slide.…

Robert HerweyerSAUGATUCK, MI – Authorities say a medical episode or fumes may have contributed to the death of 23-year-old Robert Herweyer who drowned in a vat of molasses last week.

On July 26, Herweyer and a co-worker were pumping molasses out of a 12-foot plastic vat at the Agri-Science Technology Company.

When the molasses got to about two feet deep, Herweyer put on a safety mask and used straps attached to a forklift to climb down into the tank to adjust a valve.

According to the co-worker, when Herweyer grabbed the straps to climb back out, he didn’t move and would not respond to him asking if he was ok.

When the co-worker found he was unable to life Herweyer out of the tank with the straps, he ran to their boss’ office for help.

Their boss, David Alexander, used an electric saw to cut the tank open and pull Herweyer out of the vat and start performing CPR. But it was too late.

Reports say that Herweyer was on his back in the tank and his safety mask was barely visible.…

Joseph CarraoTAMPA, FL — A total moron is facing animal abuse charges after he grabbed a flamingo at Busch Gardens and threw it to the ground, causing injuries so severe that the bird had to be euthanized.

The incident happened on Tuesday while 45-year-old Joseph Carrao was at the park with his mother, brother, and three teenage children visiting one of the animal viewing areas.

For reasons known only to Carrao, the idiot picked up one of the 250 flamingos at the park and set it back down without injuring it. He then picked up a second flamingo special to the park, a dancing flamingo named Pinky, that made appearances around the area as part of the park’s conservation and education efforts.

When Carrao’s mother told him to leave the birds alone, the fat fuck threw Pinky to the ground so hard that one of her feet was almost severed. The injury was so severe that veterinarians that examined Pinky had no recourse but to euthanize the bird.

Corrao was detained by the park’s security and arrested by Tampa police on a charge of felony animal cruelty.…

Karina VetranoHOWARD BEACH, NY – A missing jogger was found Tuesday night in a marshy area where she had reportedly been sexually assaulted and strangled to death.

Police received a call Tuesday afternoon from a man worried that his daughter, 30-year-old Karina Vetrano, had not returned from her afternoon jog at Spring Creek Park.

She had also stopped responding to text messages and didn’t answer several phone calls.

Five hours later, searchers would find her cell phone on the Belt Parkway’s bike path which lead them to her body lying face down in nearby weeds.

According to police, her pants had been pulled halfway down and it appears that she’d been strangled to death.

Neighbors say Vetrano jogged with her father, a retired firefighter, almost every night until he suffered a back injury. They added that girls know not to walk along the weeds as the area is populated by “hobos and bums.”

Despite this, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said that while there have not been any recent “stranger rapes” in the neighborhood and called the circumstances surrounding Vetrano’s death “unusual.”

I did a quick Google Maps of the area and the weeds are pretty high during the summer.…

Instead, Flowers sat down in the water up to his chest while holding his son beneath the surface.

Misty ChildsFLORIDA – Police in Saint Petersburg are looking for a woman wanted for attempted first-degree murder after she poured boiling soup on her boyfriend’s face.

A little after midnight on Sunday, 41-year-old Misty Childs got into an argument with her boyfriend, 45-year-old Lavont Moss inside the halfway-house where Moss lives.

After the argument, Moss went to bed while Childs fixed a pot of soup. Once the soup was boiling, Childs dumped the pot of soup on Moss’s face and torso as he was lying in bed. Childs then fled the scene.

One of the other residents described hearing Moss screaming that Childs had burned him before he fell on the couch.

“He was barely able to breathe because of the pain. He was moaning,” said Ashleigh Ferris.

Wesley Clark, a trained paramedic who also lives in the house, said the injuries Moss suffered were some of the worst he had ever seen.

“His skin, it just looked like someone took his shoulder blades and grabbed the skin and pulled it off,” Clark said.…

Natalie HendersonROSWELL, GA – Police say the two teenagers found dead behind a Publix supermarket Monday morning suffered severe head trauma, and are calling the deaths a double homicide.

A delivery driver found the bodies of 17-year-old Natalie Henderson and 17-year-old Carter Davis behind the King Plaza shopping center at around 6 a.m. Monday. Police believe their bodies had been there since between 2 and 3 a.m.

Police say they found vehicles behind the Publix, but are not sure if they belong to the teenagers. Investigators are looking at surveillance video from nearby businesses in hopes of finding potential suspects and a motive.

Investigators say the teens knew each other and do not believe a drug transaction was involved. They have not said why the teenagers met behind the store in the early morning hours. Of course I don’t know either, but I have a very educated guess.

Davis was about to begin his senior year at River Ridge High School where he played on the school’s football and lacrosse teams.…

Kali BookeyMADISON, WI – Police have charged a 14-year-old girl with attempted murder after she tried to kill her brother’s girlfriend by slitting her throat and telling her she was a psychopath looking for her first kill.

According to investigators, Kali Bookey called police Wednesday morning to report that two men in a pickup truck had tried to abduct her while she was riding her bike. She claimed she talked the men into abducting her brother’s 15-year-old girlfriend instead since she was home alone.

When police arrived at the girlfriend’s trailer, they found her bleeding profusely in her bedroom and she was rushed to the hospital. There she would tell investigators that it was Bookey who had attacked her.

She said she was asleep when Bookey woke her up and put her hands over her mouth. The two got into a struggle and Bookey punched the girl multiple times in the face and broke two bowls over her head. She said Bookey used a shard from one of the broken bowls to slit her throat at least four times.…

Melissa WrightWETUMPKA, AL – The Alabama Pardons and Paroles Board has denied the early release of 40-year-old Melissa Wright, the woman who put her baby in a hot oven back in 2002.

In June 2002, Wright removed the racks out of an oven, turned it to broil and waited for it to heat up. She then placed her 14-month-old daughter, Ashley Smith, head first into the oven.

Ashley was rescued by her father who heard her screams and found her inside the oven. While Smith was only in the oven for a short amount of time, she suffered third-degree burns to over 30 percent of her body.

Despite claiming voices told her to put her daughter in the oven, Wright would plead guilty to attempted murder, and be sentenced to 25 years in prison. On Tuesday, after having serving 13 years and 9 months of her sentence, Wright stood before the parole board in hopes of an early release.

Smith was also there to ask the board that her mother remain in prison.…
