KALAMAZOO, MI – Police have arrested a woman after they say she beat her 5-month-old son to death.

In late January, 21-year-old Jennifer Mohler was unable to wake up her 5-month-old son. She placed him back into his bassinet to tend to the boy’s twin brother.

She then notified family members in the home that her son “didn’t look right” and they ended up calling for an ambulance.

After being taken to the hospital, the boy was having seizures, had bleeding on the brain, retinal hemorrhaging, facial bruising and whiplash trauma.

The injuries were listed as “non-accidental trauma” and police were notified.

When questioned, Mohler admitted she hit both children with an open hand and hitting one in the head with an eyeglass container. She also admitted to dropping them both into their bassinets.

A judge ordered both children be removed from Mohler’s custody. Unfortunately, the injured infant died from his injuries in February.

Mohler was subsequently charged with murder and first-degree child abuse. She’s facing life behind bars if convicted on the charges.…

LAKELAND, FL — Police have charged a couple with the murder of the man’s 6-year-old daughter.

Last week, 26-year-old Larry Golden Jr. called 911 to report he had found his 6-year-old daughter, Honesty Curry, unresponsive in her bed.

When paramedics arrived at Golden’s apartment they found Honesty lying unresponsive on the living room floor.

Honesty was rushed to the hospital where doctors would find the girl suffering from bruises and lacerations all over her body. Even worse, she had severe skull damage and adult bite marks on her inner thigh.

To give you an idea on just how severe the girl’s skull damage was, one crack went from one ear, over her head, to the other. Another fracture penetrated the thickest area of her skull.

Despite best efforts to save Honesty, the girl would die two days later.

When questioned about the girl’s injuries, Golden and his live-in girlfriend, 21-year-old Breonna Wren, claimed the injuries were self-inflicted. They said Honesty purposefully slammed her head into a wall.

When they were told there was no way that could cause all the injuries the girl had suffered, Wren admitted to striking Honesty with a belt and said that Golden hit his daughter with an object in the kitchen.…

BAY CITY, MI – A 21-year-old woman has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for lying about being raped in a Delta College parking lot.

In February, Mary Zolkowski told police she had been raped by a black man in a parking lot at the college.

During their investigation,  police learned a parolee with sexual assault convictions was on campus at the time of the alleged attack.

The man was questioned and denied any knowledge of the incident. He was also subjected to a polygraph test that he passed.

Zolkowski’s story was already falling apart by then and it didn’t help that she was unwilling to participate in the investigation or submit to a physical examination.

When police were unable to find any evidence that a sexual assault had occurred and confronted Zolkowski with some inconsistencies with her story details, she simply changed her story.

This time it wasn’t a black man in a parking lot that raped her. This time it was an acquaintance who had raped her at his apartment.…

RICHMOND, KY – Police have arrested a couple after their 18-year-old daughter was found locked inside a cage in their home’s basement.

Police were performing a welfare check at the home of Tito and Shannon Felix, 50 and 51, when they went down to the basement that was littered with animal feces.

Also in the basement was the couple’s 18-year-old daughter. She was locked inside a wooden cage that measured seven feet long, 43 inches tall and 46 inches wide.

The cage was equipped with latches on the outside, a combination lock and a child’s toilet that was full of piss and shit.

When police asked the couple why in the hell was their adult daughter locked up inside the cage, they responded that the girl suffered from fetal alcohol syndrome and would sleepwalk.

So, they explained, keeping her locked in the cage at night so she “doesn’t get out and we can get some sleep.”

The couple was arrested on the spot and charged with unlawful imprisonment and criminal abuse.…

SMITHFIELD, UT – Police arrested a man after he allegedly doused an infant with sulfuric acid.

Police arrested 32-year-old Jason Keith Summers after he walked onto a neighbor’s property and threw a substance on an infant.

According to a Cache County Jail booking affidavit, Summers was asked numerous times what substance was. Each time he claimed it was just dirt.

It was later determined the substance was actually sulfuric acid.

The infant was rushed to the hospital but the condition of the child has not been reported.

Police say Summers “has a history of drug use and extreme violence” and tried fleeing police when they tried to take him into custody.

He was quickly taken to the ground and placed into custody, only to try escaping again after being placed in a patrol car.

After claiming he was going to be sick, the officers rolled down the car’s back window. That’s when Summers jumped out the open window and into traffic.

He was detained again and placed in jail without bond after being checked out at the hospital.…

ENGLAND – A British man proving his “stab-proof vest” was indeed stab proof. died after stabbing himself.

Just five days after 22-year-old Jordan Easton’s birthday, he was with friends inside a home showing off a vest he was wearing.

According to Easton, the vest was stab proof and he decided to give a demonstration.

“While in the kitchen, he took hold a knife to demonstrate it was stab-proof and sadly realized it wasn’t the case,” said assistant coroner Karin Welsh.

After successfully stabbing himself in the chest, Easton was rushed to the hospital.

“Despite the best efforts of the medical professionals, they were unable to save him,” said Welsh.

Easton’s death was ruled a “misadventure” by Welsh, who chalked it up to the “foolishness of youth.”

Police investigated the incident but after interviewing family and witnesses, no charges were filed.

Easton’s sister is still having a hard time believing her brother accidentally killed himself.

“It’s more possible if it was bravado, showing off in front of lads, but where a mother and a young girl were, it’s out of character for him.…

BEXAR COUNTY, TX – A Texas deputy has been accused of sexually molesting a 4-year-old relative and blackmailing her illegal immigrant mother with deportation if she reported him.

Authorities have arrested 47-year-old Jose Nunez, a 10-year veteran of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, on a felony charge of super aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Nunez allegedly sexually molested a 4-year-old relative multiple times over the last few months or possibly for the last two years.

Police believe the girl’s mother was made aware of the assaults but was hesitant to report them because Nunez took advantage of her undocumented status to “place the mother in fear that she would be deported,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said.

The girl’s mother finally decided being deported was worth protecting her daughter and she took the girl to a local fire station to report what Nunez was doing.

Nunez was subsequently arrested and is being held without bail in the same detention center where he once worked. If he’s found guilty of the charge he is facing a minimum of 25 years in jail.…

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — A 5-month-old girl was mauled to death by the family German Shepherd after her mother left her in the care of a roommate.

Terika George told police that after putting her daughter to sleep, she left the home for a few hours and left the girl in the care of her roommate.

The roommate ended up putting the girl to bed in one room while he fell asleep in another.

When George returned home at around 3 a.m. she found the roommate sleeping and her daughter dead after being mauled to death by the roommate’s German Shepherd.

Animal Control removed the dog from the home, and it has since been euthanized.

Family members said the dog had been around the girl since her birth and never showed any aggression toward anyone in the home.

“He ate by us, he slept by us, he followed us and sometimes I had her in her car seat and he would go over and check on her and walk away.…

SPRING, TX – A woman has been charged after being caught shoplifting inside a Texas Walmart and not mentioning her child was baking in her car in the parking lot.

On Wednesday, Dimitric Knight got caught shoplifting inside a Walmart. Police were called to the location after she tried leaving the store with more than $70 worth of makeup hidden in her purse.

It wasn’t until 40 minutes later, after Knight was arrested, that officers were alerted to the fact that Knight’s 7-year-old son was sitting in the car in the parking lot.

“At some point it came out ‘did you drive here?’..we determined she had a vehicle when we went out, we found a child in the vehicle,” said Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.

The boy was found in the backseat of the vehicle that was not running with only one window down about four inches. The temperatures outside were above 90 degrees.

Deputies said the child was either not conscious or sleeping and they had to press on his legs for him to regain consciousness.…

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS – A man is (hopefully) re-examining his life choices after he was busted in a cemetery with five underage girls, two of which were passed out.

Authorities said 20-year-old Jordan McClain met a 16-year-old girl on Facebook and agreed to pick her up from her foster home.

After driving from Mobile to Ocean Springs Front Beach, the girl got in his vehicle along with four other girls.

The girls all ranged between the ages of 11 and 16.

The obvious mistakes McClain made up to this point are apparent, but compounded ever further after he drove them back top Mississippi and gave the girls Xanax and marijuana.

A resident would end up calling police to report seeing the group at the beach and that they seemed intoxicated.

The responding officer would locate McClain and the five girls in a cemetery and find that two of the girls were unconscious.

The two girls were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released. The five girls were returned to foster care, but McClain didn’t get off so lightly.…

JACKSON COUNTY, MI – The former bassist for 3 Doors Down is back in jail again, this time on domestic violence and drug charges.

We reported on 46-year-old Todd Harell back in 2013 after he was charged with vehicular homicide in Nashville for driving drunk and killing 47-year-old Paul Shoulders.

Harrell was speeding when he hit Shoulder’s pickup truck and sent it down an embankment. Shoulders was killed after being ejected from his truck.

Harrell admitted he’d consumed hard cider along with some Lortab and Xanax.

After being taken to jail, deputies found Harrell was hiding a bag containing 8 Xanax pills, 24 oxycodone pills and 4 oxymorphone pills in his sock.

While waiting for his trial on vehicular homicide charges, Harrell was charged with DUI again in 2014 after he was found “slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle” by police responding to a call about an impaired driver.

Harrell pleaded guilty in 2015 and was sentenced to two years in prison. Now he’s behind bars once again.

Police in Jackson County were responding to a house alarm at the home of Harrell’s ex-wife, Jennifer Fields.…

FORT IRWIN, CA – Police have accused 24-year-old Rose Marie Smith with the death of her 4-year-old stepson.

Police were called to a home on June 7 on a report of an unresponsive child.

First responders would find 4-year-old Benjamin Schmittle unresponsive after allegedly having a seizure.

He was rushed to the hospital but because of the severity of his injuries, the boy was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center suffering from a brain aneurysm.

Benjamin would die the next day.

Investigators were informed the injuries Benjamin suffered did not appear to be accidental.

After interviewing family members, investigators arrested Rose Marie Schmittle.

She is facing charges of murder and assault on a child causing death and being held without bail at the West Valley Detention Center.

According to his family, Benjamin lived with his father and stepmother at the time of the incident. He would have turned five years old in July.…
