A Covington High School student is facing a felony charge and 10 years in prison for an alleged Tik Tok challenge, resulting in the assault of a disabled teacher.

St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Warren Montgomery announced Tuesday that Larrianna Jackson, 18, was charged with felony second-degree battery and cruelty to the infirmed.

Jackson was arrested on Oct. 6 by the Covington Police Department for felony battery of a school teacher.

The Covington Police Department has made an arrest in connection with an altercation that happened between a disabled teacher and an 18-year-old high school student.

Police said a student assaulted a teacher after the dismissal bell rang.

According to police, the 18-year-old student, Larrianna Jackson, attacked the disabled 64-year-old teacher in what they believe was in connection with a TikTok challenge.

Due to injuries sustained by the attack, the teacher had to seek medical attention at an area hospital, according to police.

Larriana Jackson is an 18-year-old student from Covington High School in Louisiana who is accused of striking a disabled teacher as part of a viral TikTok challenge called “slap a teacher.” You can watch the video later in this article, but be aware that it’s disturbing.

The “slap a teacher” TiKTok trend is the latest trend encouraging criminal activity to cause concern. Previously, a trend called “devious lick” encouraged students to vandalize and steal things from schools.

The trend is a concern across the country, with the Connecticut Attorney General writing on Twitter, “TikTok fails to control the spread of dangerous content. In CT, vandalism closed schools and the new ‘Slap a Teacher’ challenge may put educators at risk. I am urging TikTok to come to CT to meet with educators and parents and commit to reforms that stop this reckless content.”

“This Covington fa ya,” the caption on the video says. You can watch the video here on YouTube, where it is age-restricted due to the graphic content. At the end of the video, you see the woman police say is Larriana Jackson repeatedly striking the teacher, who is seated. You can also watch the video here. The language is also graphic:

JFC .. I hope she smiles through her ten year sentence .. when that door slides shut reality will sink in .. and she picked an older disabled person because she didn't want someone who could kick her ass .. she's a useless piece shit coward .. there's absolutely no redemption for a waste of oxygen like her ..

ETA .. I think the same about people who hurt kids and animals..

Why?

Couldn't graduate before heading to prison?

@thuumpr .. I am stumped .. no idea what your question or comment means? It could just be me though ..
sorry... didn't mean she should wait to beat up this woman...

Meant that she apparently was headed to prison anyway for something or other if she was capable of doing this. Not the brightest crayon in the box.

Graduating would've been something she could be proud of. Okay, should be proud of since by her mugshot this just made her day.

Ten years and a GED might correct her thinking.

And the thinking of her accomplice who took the video.

Both need prison time.

No damn 95% probation sentence or suspended sentence .. hang these two ..

And this is why so many teachers are leaving and all the subs we have are quitting (I'm a teachers aide). We used to have a lot of retired teachers as subs and because of all these ridiculous tik tok things, they are all leaving. I really hope with that video evidence she gets prison time.

I couldn't watch the entire beat down. Perhaps the following will help explain some of these incidents. The victims were not found to be faking either. The phenomenon may not be limited to tics. We don't know what side effects these social platforms may produce, and unsuspecting users now comprise an unofficial study group. Here is a study and an article about this.

I'm unable to even post the URL for this study, so just search and you will find it.

While I’m glad the charge exists I’m thinking it’s time to come up with a new name for it as ‘cruelty to the infirmed’ sounds super outdated and a little insulting lol
I’m not one of these “change the term” people. I hate that typically for ex: saying unhoused persons instead of homeless -_-
However I must admit reading “cruelty to the infirmed” made me pause

Agreed, like they used to call mental institutions things like “home for imbeciles” until society wised up and realized that was kind of shitty. Took them even longer to realize their treatment of these people was even shittier (thanks Geraldo!!!)

I am fuming! My mom is a 67-year old with Parkinson's. This stupid, fat bitch basically beat up someone like my mom!

Yeah, I hope you Google yourself Larrianna Jackson and find me here at the Demon. I'll smack that smirk straight off your ugly ass mug. And you mama's too. Worthless fucking pig ass trash. Come find me!

Charge the dumb bitch filming it as well, imho. So glad my kids are decent human beings. My son would have NEVER allowed this to happen. 15, 6'0, 200lbs., taught to always protect those whom are vulnerable and less fortunate. He would have thrown this cunt out of the window instead of recording. I hate most kids these days.

A Louisiana high school student who attacked a teacher in a TikTok challenge gone wrong has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Video captured Larrianna Jackson, 18, assaulting a 64-year-old wheelchair-bound teacher and throwing her to the ground after the dismissal bell rang in early October, WVUE reported.

The teacher was badly bruised and was taken to a hospital.

Jackson was arrested and accused of a felony count of battery of a school teacher.

The student pleaded insanity in a St. Tammany Parish court on Dec. 8.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for March 14. She is awaiting prosecution in the St. Tammany Parish Jail.

Two others were arrested, Trinity Gervais, 18, and a juvenile. They both face a charge of unlawful posting of a criminal activity.

She might have ate lead paint as a child but her ass deserves a longer sentence then one year.

A Covington High School student who attacked a teacher in a TikTok challenge gone wrong has pleaded guilty to second-degree battery and cruelty to the infirmed charges.

Larrianna Jackson, 19, originally pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity last December.
Judge Richard Swartz sentenced Jackson to five years in prison for each charge with all but one year suspended. Jackson will serve her year in prison without the benefit of probation or parole. The victim was granted a lifetime protective order.
Following her release, Jackson will serve three years of probation with anger management classes and mental health counseling.
Officials say the teacher suffered lacerations and bruises on both arms, trauma to the head, a concussion, trauma to the neck, a fractured rib, and a sprained wrist. A chunk of the teacher’s hair was pulled from her head and DA Montgomery says an eye specialist diagnosed her as being “one step away from a detached retina.”

DA Montgomery says investigators were never able to determine if the “Slap a Teacher” TikTok challenge was the motive behind the attack, but another student told officers the video had been uploaded to TikTok.
