CHATTANOOGA, TN – The school bus driver convicted in the school bus crash that killed six children has been accused of statutory rape.

Back in 2016 we reported on Johnthony Walker, the 25-year-old who was driving a school bus that crashed and killed six children.

Prosecutors said he was speeding while using his cell phone when he lost control of the bus, flipped it and slid into a tree.

His defense attorneys said Walker was not speeding and had swerved to avoid another vehicle.

No one believed it and Walker was found guilty of 34 charges, including six for vehicular homicide. He was sentenced to four years imprisonment but appealed the conviction.

He was free on bond awaiting the appeals process but is now back behind bars after he was taken into custody for child rape. The family Walker was staying with called police to report Walker was having sex with an underage girl that lived in the home.

During their investigation, Walker was taken into custody and allegedly admitted to having sex with a 14-year-old girl in the home five times over the last several months.

Walker is now being held in the Metro jail in lieu of a $350,000 bond, facing charges of aggravated rape.
