RIVERDALE, GA – A 2-year-old girl was killed Friday after a mirror fell on her while she trying on shoes inside a Payless shoe store.

The accident happened while Ifrah Siddique was inside the store trying on shoes with her family. For reasons not currently being reported, a full-length mirror fell and hit the girl in the back of the head.

“I could hear the crash and the mom screaming. Everybody was crowded around the door. It’s just tragic,” said a Payless employee. “I’m sure the mom didn’t think when she was coming in to go shopping she wouldn’t come out with her child. That’s bad. Really bad.”

Siddique reportedly had massive internal bleeding and had lost a lot of blood by the time paramedics arrived. She was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.

“I feel dead like I am no more…that was my little girl,” said the girl’s father, Mohsin Siddique.

Payless released the following statement:

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of Ifrah Siddique during this time of incredible loss. We are devastated by this tragic event and are fully cooperating with authorities to research and understand the nature of this accident. Out of respect for the family, no further information will be provided at this time.”

The girl’s family says they still have questions, including wanting to know why the mirror was only being held up by one screw.

“We want to make sure this doesn’t happen again for anybody,” said the girl’s cousin, Aqib Iftkhar. “We don’t want to see another kid get into this.”
