MIAMI, FL – A Florida woman has been accused of smothering her 4-year-old daughter with a pillow before chucking her body in a dumpster.

On Sunday afternoon, a man was throwing garbage away at the Tuscany Place Apartments when he saw the feet of a child sticking out of a blanket.

“I didn’t believe that so when I went, I checked and the baby was wrapped in the blanket with signs she was beaten to death,” the man’s daughter.

Police were called to the scene and the child’s body was identified as 4-year-old Tania Paige. Police say that although the girl’s body was already decomposing, bruises were visible on her arms, legs and torso.

When police questioned the dead girl’s mother, 31-year-old Tina Farrington, she eventually admitted to killing the girl on Halloween night.

She said on that night she got upset with the girl for talking back, so she took Tania and her brother to a bedroom where she smothered the little girl with a pillow.

Afterwards, she placed the girl’s body in the trunk of her 2013 Nissan Altima for a few days until the smell got so bad she decided to toss her body in the dumpster where she was later found.

Farrington was arrested and booked into the Miami-Dade jail on first-degree murder and domestic violence charges. There’s been no reports on the age of Tania’s brother or if he witnessed his sister’s murder.
