QUEENS, NY – Police have taken a 15-year-old boy into custody after they say he used a ladder to climb into a home and sexually molest a 4-year-old girl

According to reports, the victim was sleeping in her second-floor bedroom when someone climbed in and sexually molested her.

Her parents were both working at the time, but several adult relatives where in the home, including siblings.

When her parents came home, she complained about pain and told them a stranger accessed her bedroom and assaulted her. She was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed she had suffered a sexual assault.

Police investigated the scene and were able to lift fingerprints from a ladder and inside the house. They also located surveillance footage that showed a “known” 15-year-old boy who lives in the neighborhood leaving the area.

The teen, who has not been identified, made incriminating statements when questioned by cops and was eventually arrested on charges of attempted rape, burglary and aggravated sex abuse. According to police, the suspect and victim did not know each other.
