Greene County, TN — A couple of true geniuses are behind bars after allegedly trying to sell their 5-month-old baby on Craigslist. The price tag? A real steal, folks…. just $3,000!

Authorities were alerted to the ad by another couple just cruisin’ through Craigslist.

Police made contact with the two responsible for the ad, ultimately arranging a price and agreeing upon a safe, public place in which to meet.

An undercover officer hooked up with the sellers at a Dollar General store Friday afternoon. The agent shelled out the agreed upon $3,000, cash, and the sellers handed over the baby.

Immediately after the exchange, the morons were arrested.

A warrant from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office says the couple “did knowingly place the child in threat of serious danger, bodily injury or death by selling the child to an unknown person”.

Deanna Lynn Greer, 37, and 26-year-old John David Cain were arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect or endangerment. Both are being held on $150,000 bond.

The child has been taken into protective custody.
