Deorr KunzLEADORE, ID — Deorr Kunz Jr., the 2-year-old boy who vanished from an Idaho campground four days ago, is still missing.

Last Friday, the toddler was with family at the Timber Creek Campground when his parents, Deorr Kunz Sr. and Jessica Mitchell, decided to some exploring on their own.

They had assumed the boy’s grandfather would watching him while they were gone, but when they returned they noticed their son wasn’t with the group. When they asked the boy’s grandfather about Deorr, he replied that he thought he’d went with them.

The family immediately began searching the area for the toddler before calling police about 30 minutes later. A search team was quickly formed and consisted of police, search and rescue teams, dogs, people on horseback and atvs, and even a helicopter.

Approximately 150 people scoured the campground, as well as a 2.5 mile radius surrounding the campground, but no trace of Kunz was found. This has lead some, including the boy’s parents,  to believe the little boy was abducted.

“If somebody has him please don’t hurt him,” his mother pleaded. “Just bring him home safely where he belongs.”

For those who have been critical of the parents for leaving their son, Kunz Sr. explained: “It’s such a small area – that’s what a lot of people don’t understand. They just assume, ‘How could you let your kid out of your sight.’ Well, this area is pretty well blocked in and there’s no way you couldn’t see him.”

People already have their hinky meters pinging. Mine’s not, but you would think searchers would have found some evidence of the kid wandering off in to the woods, or someone would have seen something had the kid been taken. My guess? He’s in the water.
