Kenne WorthenPHOENIX, AZ – Police have arrested 27-year-old Kenne Worthen after the elementary school teacher got busted having a sexual relationship with one of his 12-year-old students.

Police were called by staff at Longview Elementary School after students informed them that Worthen was having an inappropriate relationship with one of their female classmates.

When questioned, the girl initially denied having any type of relationship with Worthen, but later admitted to it and that she’d had sex with the teacher in his classroom after school.

A search of Worthen’s iPod revealed the girl and Worthen would have conversations of a sexual nature via the Google Hangouts app. He even tells the girl that he’s worried she will feel guilty and tell his wife or the police.

Worthen was arrested on Friday and is facing five felony charges, including molestation and sexual conduct with a minor. According to court documents, Worthen confessed to the relationship to police.

During his first court appearance, the judge ordered Worthen held in jail without bond.

“Even with having no record or anything?” asked Worthen.…

Brittany BellBARTLESVILLE, OK — Police have arrested 27-year-old Brittany Bell after her 3-month-old daughter was found dead in her home being eaten by roaches.

Police were initially called to Bell’s apartment on Jan 8, on a report of a dead infant. When they arrived, Bell told the officers she had put her baby, Alice, in her crib and came back a while later to find her dead.

She then changed her story, telling the officers she thought that it was possible that her 18-month-old twins may have accidentally smothered Alice. She said she fell asleep while watching a movie and that the twins may have killed the baby by sitting on her.

The Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and listed the cause of death as sudden unexplained infant death, with the manner of death undetermined. It was also noted that abrasions found on the baby’s head and legs were caused by the roaches feeding on the baby’s corpse.

“I can conclude that she laid the baby on the floor and fell asleep without waking during which time Alice may have been suffocated by one or both of her twins or became distressed due to the surface of the floor and suffocated,” Investigator Jim Warring stated in the affidavit. …

Taylor FastFESTUS, MO – Police have arrested 21-year-old Taylor Fast, and are looking for Fast’s boyfriend, after her 17-month old daughter was found beat to death.

Police say they were called to Fast’s home Sunday morning after the mother called to report her daughter, Layla, had been bitten by a spider the night before and was now unconscious.

When police arrived at the home, they found the girl dead and quickly realized that Fast’s story was complete bullshit. Layla had bruises to her face and neck, bruises all over her body, and had been dead for several hours.

“I’ve been a policeman for 32 years and this is the worst case of child abuse I have ever seen,” Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said. “Nothing even comes close to this. This child looked like a situation, say if a child was involved in a car accident. It was horrible.”

According to Roche Madden from Fox 2 St, Louis, the little girl’s face had been smashed in.

They also found that Layla’s 3-year-old brother was suffering from a broken leg and cried every time he tried to stand on it.…

Annika McKenzieHEMPSTEAD, NY – A middle school teacher was sent to the hospital after she had the shit kicked out of her by the mother of one of her students.

The incident happened on Wednesday at Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School, when 34-year-old Annika McKenzie showed up to the school and waited outside of Catherine Engelhardt’s classroom.

When Engelhadt showed up, the two got into a conversation about an “incident earlier in the day.” According to McKenzie’s attorney, that incident involved the teacher putting her hands on McKenzie’s 12-year-old daughter.

Engelhardt reportedly refused to talk to McKenzie and instructed her to get a security pass. Police say what followed next was the teacher being shoved against the wall, placed in a headlock and thrown to the floor.

She was then kicked and punched by several students, including McKenzie’s 14-year-old niece. McKenzie then allegedly choked the teacher unconscious.

Another teacher was able to break up the melee, and Engelhardt was rushed to the hospital. She has since been released and is recovering at home.…

State Of The Site For April 2015

April 17, 2015 at 1:48 pm by

2015-04-17_133011HERE, NOW – I haven’t done this in a while, but I figured this would be a good day to give everyone an update on the site, and why there have been a lack of stories.

In a nutshell, real life has just gotten in the way. It happens on occasion. Not just with me, but also with a couple of people who continue to help me keep this place running. It was a perfect storm, of sorts, that left the site in a semi-inactive state.

The thing is, it’s gonna get a tad worse before it gets any better as I will be on vacation for the last week of April. I won’t be completely on point until the first week of May. The others will also be freed up by then, or shortly after, so DD should quickly get back to normal (whatever the hell that is) after that.

I also plan on refocusing on a couple of things I’ve ranted about for a decade. I will be getting a couple of new writers and finishing up the t-shirt project I was almost done with before things got in the way.…

Alexis KeslarYUMA, AZ – Well here’s a story to start off your day. Two 18-month-old twins drowned in a canal after their mother let go of their stroller to fend off a bee.

Alexis Keslar was pushing her twin sons, Silas and Eli Keslar, along a canal Friday when she let go of the stroller’s handle to swat at a bee. This caused the stroller to roll away from her and into the canal.

Keslar immediately jumped in to try and save her sons, who were both belted into the stroller, but the strong current washed the stroller away from her. She managed to climb back out an called for help.

Even after the canal’s water level was lowered and the flow reduced, it still took emergency workers an hour to find the boys. They were flown to the hospital where they were both pronounced dead.

According to Lt. Don Willits, the incident has been determined to be an accident and no charges are expected to be filed.

Yuma police said the paths along the canal are popular with joggers and bicyclists, adding that people often underestimate the speed of the canal’s current and how deep the water can be.…

Martin Alvarado JrCICERO, IL – Police have charged 23-year-old Martin Alvarado Jr. with fatally beating his girlfriend’s 18-month-old after the child urinated on him during a diaper change.

Police were called to a home on Thursday where Alvarado was caring for his girlfriend’s son. The boy was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital where he would be pronounced dead.

An autopsy was conducted the following day  and the boy’s death was ruled a homicide after it was discovered the boy had died of multiple blunt force injuries from child abuse.

Alvarado was questioned and revealed ha had been in the process of changing the toddler’s diaper when the boy urinated on Alvarado. According to investigators, Alvarado became so mad that he repeatedly hit the boy.

Police arrested Alvarado and charged him with first-degree murder. On Monday he was ordered held without bail until his next court appearance on April 28.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services said they have had prior contact with the family, but would not elaborate. …

Michelle SchwabCLEVELAND, OH – Police have charged Michelle Schwab with misdemeanor child endangerment after her 2-year-old fell 10 feet into the cheetah exhibit at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

The incident happened over the weekend as the 38-year-old mother of three was holding a small child in one arm and her 2-year-old in the other while at the zoo’s cheetah attraction.

Somehow the boy slipped from her arms and ended up falling around 10 feet over a protective railing, landing into the cheetah’s den. The cheetahs never approached the boy after he landed, nor did they approach when Schwab and her husband jumped in to retrieve him. The boy was taken to the hospital to treat a leg injury.

Charges were filed against Schwab after several witnesses told investigators they saw the child being held over the railing of the exhibit. If she’s convicted, she faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Depending on the outcome of the investigation, Schwab may also be unemployed. She was the assistant director at the Sawmill Road KinderCare in Columbus, but communications coordinator Colleen Moran said Schwab “will remain out of the center while this issue is investigated and addressed.”

The director of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium said zoo habitats for animals are designed for the safety of the animals and the guests, but guests are expected to use common sense (ha!) and follow zoo rules when viewing animals.…

Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai PatelHANOVER, MD — Police are looking for 24-year-old Bhadreshkumar Patel after they say he beat his wife to death inside a Dunkin Donuts where they both worked.

Police were called to the all-night Dunkin Donuts on Arundel Mills Boulevard after a customer walked in at around 11 p.m. Sunday and found that there were no employees.

When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Palak Patel lying dead in the kitchen. Evidence collected at the scene linked the murder to Patel’s husband, who also worked with her at the store. Police say he hit his wife multiple times with an object and then fled on foot.

An arrest warrant was issued for Patel, who has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault and other charges. Police are still looking for him and are warning the public that he is dangerous.

“Don’t harbor him, don’t assist him in any way, shape or form,” said police spokesperson Justin Mulcahy, who added the couple had at least one prior contact with police for a domestic incident in December.…

Bonney Lake BridgeBONNEY LAKE, WA – A mother, father and their infant son were crushed to death when a concrete wall fell from a state Route 410 overpass under renovation and landed on the family’s truck.

East Pierce Fire & Rescue officials said the accident happened before 11 a.m. Monday when concrete and other materials fell off the overpass and landed on the family’s pickup as they drove down Angeline Road East.

It took crews almost eight hours to remove the debris from the truck and realize that there were three people dead inside. Their names have not been released, but police say they were a couple in their 20s and their 6-month-old baby.

No word on how the “very heavy” concrete structure fell, but a construction crew had been working on a project to replace and extend a sidewalk on that overpass. The part that fell was part of the original overpass, which was built in 1992.

“The type of work that was going on shouldn’t have resulted in anything falling,” said Bonney Lake Public Works Director Dan Grigsby.…

Leaj Jarvis PriceJEMISON, AL – Authorities charged Eric “Heath” Price with murder after he shot and killed his wife inside a doctor’s office before turning the gun on himself.

Leaj Price, 24, got into a a domestic situation with her husband that got so bad she felt the need to run from the home and to a doctor’s office next door. She was frantically trying to get in while screaming for someone to call the police.

Dr. Jay Patel went to the main entrance and found Leaj struggling with her husband, 26-year-old Eric “Heath” Price. “He wouldn’t let go of her hand and he just stood at the doorway,” Patel adds.

Patel said Eric Price threatened him with a gun, so he locked a dozen other patients and employees in a back room. “Before anything could happen, I heard a pop then I heard her stop screaming,” Patel says.

After shooting Leaj in the head, Eric walked back to the couple’s rental home next door and staged a standoff with police that lasted several hours.…
