Eric KaplanJOHNSON COUNTY, KS – Police arrested 18-year-old Eric Kaplan after they say he stalked a woman from a grocery store all the way to a police station.

The woman says that she noticed Kaplan after leaving a grocery store late Monday night. “As I was walking to my car, he was walking into PriceChopper, and I got in my car and I just kept my eye on him and noticed he never went into PriceChopper,” she said. “He turned back around and went and got into his vehicle.”

Noticing Kaplan was still behind her when she got to her neighborhood, she didn’t pull into her driveway and continued driving. When he followed her into a a cul-de-sac she got a side look at him and saw he was wearing “a full black ski mask.”   Can you imagine that happening? That’s like looking under your bed and someone being there looking back at you.

The woman called 911 to report what was happening and she was informed to continue driving to the Overland Park Police Station. Kaplan followed her there and was arrested about a block away. Police found the black ski mask, gloves, a knife, lubrication, drugs and drugs paraphernalia inside Kaplan’s car.

Eric Kaplan was charged with first-degree reckless stalking and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $1,500 bond.
