St. Paul, MN – When Jennifer A. Pickar, 30, went to a St. Paul emergency room on the afternoon of Jan. 1 to seek treatment for tremors, a nurse attending to Pickar noticed her 10-day-old baby boy appeared to have two black eyes. After examination, the baby was reportedly taken to the intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, where an examination revealed the extent of his injuries.

It turns out that the baby – for whom treatment was not being sought by the mother – also had bruises on his left ear, fractures on the bones around his eyes, and bleeding in the front and back of his brain. The baby needed a breathing tube and a shunt was surgically inserted into his skull to reduce swelling.

According to court documents, the 10-day-old underwent surgery to repair the broken facial bones, but more will be required. The baby’s current condition is unknown. Court documents say that the child is expected to have “significant deficits” because of the injuries.…

Charleston, SC — Some passengers on a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas had their vacation altered when one of their fellow passengers died after he jumped over a second floor railing and landed in the ship’s lobby.

Not a lot of information on what led to the 26-year-old tourist taking the fatal plunge while the Fantasy was docked in Nassau last Friday night, but one news article is calling it a suicide.

Another article has passengers on the ship saying there were multiple rumors floating around, including the man was despondent after losing money while gambling. Another report says the man fell after trying to jump from one floor to another.

Whatever the reason, the man’s last images were a depressing blur of white women with braided hair, neon, glass and marble as witnesses say he never regained consciousness after landing, and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The ship departed Charleston, South Carolina on Wednesday for a five-day Bahamas cruise, but the Saturday trip to Freeport was cancelled as police continued their investigation.…

Child Abuse Or Just Crappy Parenting?

January 31, 2012 at 9:17 am by

I don’t normally post videos like this as from what I can tell, no one has been charged with a crime. But we get emails on this daily, so I figured I would post it and get some of your thoughts.

In case you are unable to see it, the video shows a young mother force feeding a toddler. The kid is obviously upset, but this does not stop the woman from shoving food into the kid’s mouth — even covering his mouth until he chokes.

From what I can gather, the video was filmed in secret by the child’s 14-year-old uncle who has been trying to get CPS involved with the family, to no avail. He claims there are worse things going on in the home and shot this video to give CPS as proof.

CPS is aware of the video and stated what you are watching is not child abuse. Shitty parenting? Sure… but not child abuse as she did not strike the kid with a closed fist and it would be impossible to prove she intended for the child to choke.…

Bakersfield, CA – Sgt. Mary DeGeare of the Bakersfield Police Department says that on December 10, a man removed security cameras from a business on Bakerfield’s San Dimas Street. Police know this because – coincidentally – security cameras strategically located close-by recorded the thefts as they occurred.

The placement of security cameras is often a huge logistical problem for businesses. “How many do I need?” and “Where do I put them?” are common questions asked of trained surveillance professionals or criminologists.

Thankfully, it turns out that if you are interested in recording the theft of the security cameras themselves, the problem is greatly simplified. Experts say that, in that case, you can mount the security cameras virtually anywhere with effective results.

Please take a close look at the photos of the suspect in the Bakersfield case. Anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect is encouraged to call Detective Scott Miller at (661) 326-3947.…

HARTFORD, CT — On Friday, a jury sentenced Joshua Komisarjevsky to death for the murder of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11.

On July 22, 2007, Jennifer and Michaela were picking up groceries at a local supermarket unaware they had been targeted by two men, Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky, who intended to follow them home and rob them.

Their plans changed once they made entry into the home and became unsatisfied with the money they found inside the home. After beating and tying William Petit up in the basement, the two men tied Jennifer and her daughters to their beds.

Eventually Hayes would take Jennifer to her bank and force her to withdraw $15,000 where Jennifer would inform the teller of her situation before leaving with Hayes. Back at the home, Komisarjevsky was sexually molesting Michaela and taking pictures of the assault with his phone. When Hayes returned to the home with Jennifer, he raped her in the living room before strangling her to death.…

Baily, CO – Catrina Fox, 17, was killed late Friday night after – according to reports – intentionally opening the door of a car driven by her mother and jumping out.  Fox ended up in the path of another car.

“I’ve never seen anything like that. She just got hit at full speed. It was horrific,” witness Dean Krakel later told news media.

A Colorado State police representative said that Fox was riding home to Bailey from Denver at around 1 a.m. when she ‘kicked open the door of her mom’s sedan and leapt onto US 285.’  She was then promptly hit by a 17-year-old boy from Littleton Colorado driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said that the driver of the PT Cruiser and his passengers were uninjured.

Krakel said that Fox’s mother passed out from shock after the accident, and the people who ran over the teen were “wailing” with grief.

It was reported that Fox had recently earned her GED and was planning on heading to California.  …

It all happened so fast, I barely had time to write about it let alone get my hands on one of these winners. Within two days of posting it to their webstore, Disney took it back down. Let me explain.

I came across this Pitchfork article the other day and nearly spit out my lunch. Without reading the details of the article and only seeing the image of the shirt I guffawed uncontrollably, more than mildly in shock as to what I was seeing. Disney had paid tribute to Ian Curtis, the lead singer of Joy Division who hung himself in 1980. In a sicker twist, without looking much more into the matter, Disney had unwittingly paid tribute to the Nazis.

All of this by ape-ing the cover of their Unknown Pleasures album which was released in 1979. Once music sites started sprouting up with the glaring contradiction to Disney’s “happiest place on earth” motif, they hastily removed it from their site and stores. A representative from Disney said “As soon as we became aware there could be an issue, we pulled it from our shelves and our online store to review the situation further.”

You’d think it was a far stretch but it’s not.…

Greensboro, NC — Kevin Kennedy Gilchrest, 48, was apprehended in connection with the dumping of a nude woman’s body along a city street last Sunday. Police say that Gilchrest did not realize at the time that the woman was not dead.

The magistrate’s report describes the unidentified woman resisting Gilchrest’s attack Sunday. The arrest warrant said the attacker placed one hand on the woman’s throat while pushing her against a wall. The assailant then pushed her to the ground. The strangulation reportedly continued while the victim was raped.

The court records go on to say that – after the rape – the attacker severly beat her. He then reportedly assessed her lifelessness by raising and letting go of her arm. Court documents say that she allowed her arm to ‘flop down’ in a fashion indicating that she had died during the strangulation and beating. Gilchrest also reportedly held his finger under her nose to detect breathing – during which the victim was reported to have held her breath.

Court documents say that the attacker then placed the woman in his car and dumped her nude body on the side a city street early Sunday.…

Logan, UT — An emergency room technician was jailed last week after a police officer reportedly found him blowing an unconscious patient during an examination at Logan Regional Hospital.

The recipient of the alleged knob noshing had been picked up by police earlier that evening on charges of public intoxication, trespassing and public urination. After passing out in the back of the patrol car, the victim was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Upon his arrival at the emergency room, the still unconscious victim was placed behind a curtain. As the arresting officer stood outside the curtain writing up his report, head nurse(?) Hal Weston entered to “tend” to the unconscious drunk. When the officer finished the report and popped in to check on the patient, he found Weston bent over the subject, performing oral sex.

Wait…. You mean to tell me that’s not the proper procedure for checking a patient’s vitals? Crap. I gotta have a word with my doctor….

The officer reported what he had witnessed to hospital personnel and 46-year-old Weston was taken into custody on charges of forcible sodomy.…

Woman Arrested After Teen Spurns Her Sexual Advances

January 27, 2012 at 10:25 am by

Butler County, PA — A woman of unknown age was arrested earlier this week after her husband called 911 to inform authorities that his wife had propositioned a 15-year-old boy in their bathroom.

The accused, Stephanie Evans, apparently asked the boy for his assistance in getting her laundry into her mobile home. The kid agreed, but once he was inside the home, Evans reportedly locked him in the bathroom and offered her up her lady bits.

To her dismay, the kid turned her down.

At some point after the alleged proposal, Evans admitted the indiscretion to her hubby, who, in turn, called police. Evans was then taken into custody on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault.

Huh. And here I thought teen boys would stick their d*ck into anything.…

Mom Charged After Kicking Young Sons Out Of Home

January 27, 2012 at 10:23 am by

Fort Pierce, FL — A single mother of two was arrested Tuesday after allegedly kicking her two mouthy sons out of her mobile home in an attempt to scare them.

Jayme Beall, apparently upset with her crotch fruits’ incessant cursing and misbehaving, packed them a bag and escorted them out the front door around 7:00 Monday evening.

When she went outside to retrieve them about 20 minutes later, they were gone. It was then that she freaked and called 911.

“She was scared, nervous, frantic trying to find her children through the (trailer) park,” said neighbor Robin Cornelius. “She was searching hard.”

A search of the neighborhood and the surrounding area by foot and by air proved fruitless. Seems the brothers, ages 13 and 9, had hitched a ride on U.S. 1 to I-95 where they then called their grandmother. Five hours after they disappeared, grandma called authorities to let them know the boys were safely in her custody in Boynton Beach, a good 70 miles away.

Beall told police she’d previously had trouble with her older child, claiming the kid had run away before and had a bad habit of acting violent toward her.…
