Jacksonville, FL – On November 5th, two men were hiking in Jennings State Forest, a patch of land near the Clay/Duval county border.  They were originally scouting out hunting spots, but they found more than they bargained for.  About two miles in from Normandy Road, near the Cecil air field, they spotted circling buzzards.  As they got closer, they saw what the buzzards had found.  The nude body of a woman was lying in a ditch in just a few inches of water, near a bike path.  They called the police, and the area was quickly turned into a crime scene. Who Killed Tia Poklemba?

UPDATE 8/24/08 – Police have issued a warrant for Luis Gonzalez, 22, on a charge of leaving the scene of a vehicle accident involving a fatality. He has not been charged with murder in Tia Poklemba’s death but was seen leaving the bar with her on the night of her death.  Gonzalez also owned the tan Cadillac CTS that is believed to have hit Poklemba.  That vehicle has been towed from Gonzalez’ address and taken for forensic analysis.  Gonzalez is believed to have fled the area.
