WOOSTER, OH – Police have arrested 24-year-old Jerrod Metsker and charged him with the murder of a 9-year-old girl found murdered in a dumpster.
Reann Murphy was last seen Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. playing outside her family’s trailer in the Smithville mobile home park. When her family could not locate her after she did not return back home, police were called at around 8:30 p.m. that night.
Police and firefighters arrived on the scene and assisted neighbors in their search for Reann, including visiting the 15 to 20 mobile homes that make up the community. Six hours later, Reann’s murdered body was found inside a common dumpster located in the courtyard of the trailer park.
“Any violent death is troubling but the death of a child is much more so. We will leave no stone unturned as this investigation continues,” Sheriff Travis Hutchinson said at the time.
It didn’t take long for investigators to identify Metsker as a possible suspect, as he was the last one seen with the girl.…Continue Reading
EVERETT, WA – Police have arrested a Washington woman after they say she smothered her boyfriend to death with her breasts.
Last Friday night, 50-year-old Donna Lange and her 51-year-old boyfriend had some friends over to their mobile home to get their drink on. Over the course of the evening, Lange and her boyfriend began arguing.
Both Lange and her boyfriend were around 5 foot 7 inches tall, but Lange outweighed him by about 20-pounds. I have no pictures of Lange, so I’m not sure if the extra weight is from a pair of 10-pound titties, or just overall stature.
Regardless, witnesses in the mobile home said that during one of these arguments, Lange was seen throwing her boyfriend down on the ground and her boyfriend could be heard demanding that Lange get off of him. They later found Lange on top of her unresponsive boyfriend with her breasts covering his face.
After someone called 911, medics arrived and tried reviving Lange’s boyfriend, but he would be pronounced dead at the hospital.…Continue Reading
WINTER HAVEN, FL – A Polk County man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly accosting three women with a 4-foot-long sword and a peanut butter sandwich.
The melee reportedly began when Mark Miller, 50, was disturbed by noise the women were making outside of his mobile home. Miller is said to have exited his trailer angrily, brandishing the blade and his late night snack. At some point during the scuffle that ensued, according to responding officers, Miller jabbed the more dangerous and metallic weapon at a woman’s stomach, one Brandi Bodiford, who happened to be 6 months pregnant.
Fortunately for Bodiford and her unborn child, she was able to grab the blade before being skewered and her friend, Taylor Grimes, stepped between her and Miller. Miller then smeared his remaining weapon, the peanut butter sandwich, on the chest of the third woman, Cierra Harwell.
Deputies arrived to detain and transport Miller to Polk County Jail, but before the trip was completed Miller used his teeth to cause $550 worth of damage to the padding on the squad car’s cage partition.…Continue Reading
DETROIT, MI – Two years ago I posted about Sharon Hinojosa, the 29-year-old woman accused of intentionally setting fire to her mobile home with her two children inside, killing them both. Earlier this month she was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of Anthony, 4, and Alayna, 3. Yesterday she was sentenced to life in prison.
For those of you who missed this, back in October 2009, Hinojosa escaped from the blazing mobile home she shared with her boyfriend, clutching the couple’s 1-year-old. She left her two children from a different man inside the trailer and they would die screaming in the flames.
Her actions on the night of the fire immediately drew suspicion. She didn’t scream for help until the fire was well underway, and one neighbor said she didn’t mention her other two kids until asked. Even after informing would-be rescuers her two children were inside, she wouldn’t provide specific details as to where they were in the mobile home they may be. Neighbors tried their best to rescue the two children who were still alive as the trailer went up in flames.…Continue Reading
Beaver, PA - Gary M. Steineman, 49, was arrested by Independence Township police reportedly urinating on the sleeping son of his house guests.
Tim and Kimberly Tustin and their juvenile son were staying with Steineman, described as a ‘family friend,’ in his mobile home according to a police report. Early on the morning of June 5, the boy said he awoke to find Steineman “standing over him, urinating on the boy’s face, ear, neck and down his body,” the report said.
Police became involved when, around 11am, Sgt. Lance Malobabich was driving through the mobile home park and heard yelling and screaming from Steineman’s lot. He reportedly found the Tustins and their son outside the residence with their belongings and pets. They told police that Steineman had thrown them out, along with all of their possessions.
Steineman is charged with simple assault, indecent exposure, open lewdness and harassment. His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for July 7.
I may be jaded – you know what I mean – but the one thing that I found odd in this is the “Steineman had thrown them out” thing. …Continue Reading
GREENVILLE, NC – A handyman for a mobile home park is cooling his heels behind bars today, accused of raping a woman after he fixed her stove.
Arturo Raamos-Velasco, 33 and an illegal immigrant, was hired by the 20-year-old woman’s landlord at the Silverado Mobile Home Park to fix her stove on Monday. He finished the job and then allegedly raped her afterwards while her 15-month son cried nearby.
Sheriff Neil Elks feels the crime could have been prevented had the woman’s landlord taken some responsibility and checked on Raamos-Velasco before sending him out to people’s homes.
The woman’s landlord, Tony Buck, states he didn’t know that Raamos-Velasco was an illegal immigrant because he was only hired to do contract work and a background check was never performed. Besides, he doesn’t know how to run a background check anyway.
Raamos-Velasco is in jail on a $200,000 bond charged with second-degree rape, but since he’s an illegal immigrant, he will not be released from jail on any type of bond.
ENON, OHIO — After receiving reports of shots fired at a trailer park, Sergeant Dustin White and his partner, Suzanne Hopper, went to investigate. While White was talking with the family who said their trailer had been shot at, Hopper was using her camera to take pictures of a footprint outside a neighboring trailer. That’s when the door of that trailer opened and 57-year-old Michael Ferryman emerged brandishing a shotgun. Hopper had just enough time to scream before Ferryman leveled the shotgun at her face and pulled the trigger, killing the mother of two instantly. White tried to get to his fallen partner but was not able. “He was itching to get her,” Enron Beach resident Angelina Inman told The Associated Press. “He kept radioing in, can he please get her, and he was told no because it wasn’t secure. You could see that male sheriff crying — he wanted to get her, he wanted to get her bad.” When responding police arrived at the scene, Ferryman opened fire on them and a shootout ensued that left one officer wounded and Ferryman dead.…Continue Reading
NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Some kids trick-or-treating a few days early at the Conewago Valley Mobile Home Park got the fright of their lives when they went to collect candy from a 68-year-old resident.
What they found was his corpse lying outside his front door, a victim of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. “They saw him lying there, but they though it was a Halloween decoration until they got close and they realized it was real,” said Newberry Township resident Donna Jones.
Police don’t know when the man killed himself or how long he had been lying on his front step, but think that anyone who had seen the body may have thought it was simply a Halloween prop. The man was a sick man who kept to himself.
“He was very ill … and he didn’t want to go to a hospital or a (nursing) home,” Police Chief John Snyder said. “I just wish he’d have done it somewhere else.” The man’s trailer was in neat and tidy condition, a factor Snyder feels contributed to why the man chose to shoot himself outside of his trailer.…Continue Reading
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Zeke Smith was looking for a fight Monday night at the River’s Edge Mobile Home Park where he lives according to property manager Shirley Phillips. “Zeke was saying, well, I’m gonna own this place and I’m running this place. He was talking crazy and acting crazy, walking in circles.” Smith began harassing two men who chased him to the sidewalk trying to run him off. Mad, Smith told police he pulled a real estate sign out of the ground and threw it at one of the men who picked it back up and stabbed him in the chest with it. But the girlfriend of the accused says Smith was acting like an idiot and fell into the sign, stabbing himself. This account was also backed-up by Phillips who said Smith had hit the man with the sign, knocking him to the ground. The man was able to wrestle the sign away from Smith who charged again and ended up impaling himself on it. Either way, Smith was taken to the hospital where he is listed in serious condition suffering from a punctured lung.…Continue Reading
LENOX TOWNSHIP, Mich. — As many as 40 people were gathered around a fire pit in a common area of a Michigan trailer park last Sunday when 40-year-old Majd Mohammad Al-Shara decided the flames were not big enough. He doused the metal fire pit with some kind of accelerant, and the resulting explosion caught his 6-year-old daughter’s clothes on fire. Witnesses immediately tried to put out the girl using anything they could find to try and smother the flames. “She was in flames and I tried to jump on top of her, and my friend came over with a blanket. There was a hose on the ground. I grabbed the hose and started to hose down her legs,” one man said. They also reported Al-Shara, who suffered non-life-threatening burns to his hands and arms, tried consoling his screaming daughter who suffered burns to 90% of her body. She would die on Wednesday. Al-Shara was already charged with second-degree child abuse, but Sheriff Mark Hackel stated they will be recommending homicide charges.…Continue Reading
SEFFNER, Fla. – Max Carter and his girlfriend Staci Barnes were having problems conceiving a baby, so they concocted a brilliant plan to get one another way. They would talk their roommate into calling police and pretend she had just been a victim of a home invasion. They would then blame Max’s pregnant sister, Alyssa Carter. After delivering the baby in jail, Max and Staci would then petition the court for custody of Alyssa’s baby. What could possibly go wrong? Luckily for Alyssa and those of us who love to laugh at people, pretty much everything. Starting with the roommate, Barbara Nida. She actually went through with the plan by calling police and telling them three people armed with knives kicked in her door and injected her in the neck with a syringe. She said she woke up with her hands and feet bound by duct tape and was missing $500. Police weren’t buying it and after informing her that she could go to jail for lying to police, Nida rolled over faster than a Frenchman in a fruit fight.…Continue Reading
JACKSON, Ky. — John House posted this horrific story of domestic violence over on our Facebook page that has left six people dead. On Saturday morning, in an unnamed trailer park in Breathitt County, 47-year-old Stanley Neace and his wife got into an argument. Some reports say it was over money, others say it was because he didn’t like how she cooked his eggs. But no matter what the case, report are Stanley had become increasingly unstable over the last few months — to the point his landlord had already began eviction proceedings because of his hostile behavior towards his neighbors. On this morning, Stanley totally lost it and grabbed a pump-action shotgun. His wife Sandra Neace, 54, and her daughter, Sandra Strong, 28, ran out of the trailer and to their neighbor, 31-year-old Dennis J. Turner, who was also Strong’s boyfriend. Clad only in his pajama bottoms, Stanley followed them inside the trailer. He would kill his wife and step-daughter, as well as Turner and Teresa Fugate, a friend who was visiting. …Continue Reading
Lufkin, Texas – On Sunday, Lisa Zumwalt, 42, called her boyfriend, 45-year-old Raymond Wilson II, to tell him that she had been having sex with Sherry Wood, 47 and Douglas Wade, 65, the couple she lives with at the Rivercrest trailer park. Wilson was not too pleased with this new information and went to the trailer and shot all three of them to death. They had each been shot in the head with a .38 revolver and found in the living room. Zumwalt was in a chair, with a portable phone she tried to use to call police. Wood and Wade were on the floor. Wilson’s niece believes she was on the phone with Wilson at the time of the murders. “I believe he shot them and I believe I was on the phone with him because of the way he was acting. I could hear hollering in the background. They were all drunk,” Julie Wilson said. She also added that he is a very compassionate man. But she also said this to KLTV: “There’s nothing that nobody can say that take it back, that can bring the lives back, can’t bring my uncle back, so what can be said?…Continue Reading
SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York – The remains of 18-year-old Jennifer Hammond were found in a heavily wooded near the Edinburg/Greenfield town line. Missing since 2003, Hammond was last seen at the Creek and Pines Trailer Park in Ballston Spa selling magazines door-to-door. The teen had a history of running away, but had a bus ticket back to her home state of Colorado. The ticket was never picked up, and her belongings were left in a hotel room. So now that the “where is Hammond” question has been answered, investigators will move on to figuring out how she died. But there may be more to this. Her death shares similarities with another teen found dead in the area — 19-year-old Christina White.…Continue Reading
Goldsboro, North Carolina — Michael Earl Ricks, 47, has been convicted of armed robbery, common law robbery and writing worthless checks. He has recently been released from prison and luckily, Mary McDuffie and Christy Hughes let him come live with them in the trailer they rented. After a few hours of drinking, the two women got into an argument with Ricks and threatened to kick him out. Ricks became upset and took a trip to his employer, Best Sand and Gravel, and returned with a front-end loader bulldozer. While one of the women was on the phone with 911, Ricks used the bulldozer to destroy the trailer. You can listen to the moment he hit the trailer here. After he was done with the trailer, he then chased the two women as they ran to their landlord’s home. The women were not injured, and Ricks was arrested at the scene. He is being held under a $1,500 bond at the Wayne County jail on Monday, charged with damage to real property.…Continue Reading
Huron Township – This is one of the most horrifyingly callous stories I have written about in a while. I have read through about 15 different articles and got sicker the entire time. Sharon Hinojosa, 29, lived in a mobile home with her boyfriend Justin Whisler. Early Friday morning, the mobile home caught fire. Hinojosa was able to escape the blaze with the 1-year-old she shared with Whisler. Sadly, her two other children she had with another man, 4-year-old Anthony, and 3-year-old Alayna, perished in the flames — despite attempts by neighbors to rescue them. Now police have charged Hinojosa with setting the fire and purposely leaving her two children to burn alive. It is a heinous accusation and now that some details have come to light, coupled with the fact that she is now in the hospital after drinking rubbing alcohol, seem to have a lot of merit…Continue Reading
ROSENBERG, Texas - After visiting her mother with her husband and two toddlers, Sandra Mendoza, 20, returned home to their trailer in the Gegelskis Trailer Park at around 5am, went inside and then went to sleep. Neither parent realized they had left her two sons, a 1-year-old and 2-year-old, in their F-150 Ford pickup truck.…Continue Reading
