Aaron Ramsey Sentenced To Life In Prison For Starving His Son To Death

Dallas, TX – Aaron Ramsey, the 35-year-old man who starved his 10-year-old son to death, has been found guilty by a Dallas County jury and was sentenced to life in prison.
If you don’t remember the death of Jonathan Ramsey, let me refresh your memory and quite possibly ruin your morning.
Back in 2011, police began looking into the disappearance of Jonathan Ramsey after the child’s grandfather contacted them, concerned that the boy had not been seen in almost a year.
Police questioned the boy’s father, Aaron Ramsey, and his 31-year-old stepmother, Elizabeth Ramsey. Eventually they would admit that the boy was dead and that Aaron had disposed of his body in an unknown location.
According to Elizabeth, she and Aaron began starving the Jonathan in March 2011 after the boy allegedly punched her in the stomach while she was pregnant with triplets, supposedly causing her to lose the babies.
That’s when Aaron locked Johnathan in a bedroom and only fed him bread, water, and occasionally milk. Jonathan went from 90-pounds to 60-pounds and, according to the affidavit, he was so hungry that he ate his own feces.…

UNION, NJ — A 4-year-old boy was found starving inside an apartment with the body of his mother, who had been dead for about five days.
On Tuesday morning, a maintenance worker called police to report a foul odor coming from an apartment whose door was ajar but locked with a chain. When police arrived and entered the apartment, they found the emaciated 4-year-old inside with his mother, who was dead in her bedroom.
The boy told police he tried to heal his mother by rubbing lotion on her. He also told them he was unable to unlock the front door and had not eaten because he was unable to open the refrigerator.
“He made a statement to the officer that ‘There’s plenty of food in the refrigerator, but I couldn’t open the door,’” said Police Director Daniel Zieser. “So that’s kind of sad that nobody checked on him, no family members. It’s sad, very sad.”
Neighbors said they never heard any cries for help from the apartment, and police said there are no records of any 911 calls being made from the apartment.…

LAS VEGAS, NV — Police have charged 36-year-old Laketha Moore with 31 counts of child abuse after her 4-year-old daughter was discovered tied to a bed, beaten and starved.
Had it not been for a Loma Vista Apartments maintenance worker, there’s no telling how long this little girl would have continued to suffer. He was performing a routine maintenance check inside Moore’s apartment on Monday and found a belt connecting the bathroom and bedroom doors.
When the worker went inside a bedroom, he found Moore’s starving 4-year-old daughter tied to a bed and surrounded by filth. She had multiple injuries, including a black eye, cuts on her nose, cheek, a bruised rib cage, back, ankles and matted hair. The girl said she was hungry because “Mommy ties me up all the time.”
When police located Moore she confessed to police that she abandoned her daughter regularly to go to work or church.
“Laketha Moore was allegedly leaving her daughter tied to a bed in her bedroom, and locked in there for hours, 10 to 12 hours a day, five to seven days a week,” North Las Vegas spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said.…

Georgia - Paul and Sheila Comer, the couple who imprisoned and starved Sheila’s son for three years before sticking him on a bus to California when he turned 18-years-old, were both sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The couple were arrested in September 2012 after being accused of locking Sheila’s teen son, Mitch, inside a bathroom and then a bedroom for three friggin’ years. He’d been isolated in the house for so long that his two younger sisters who lived there had forgotten what he looked like. They couldn’t even recall the color of Mitch’s hair.
When he turned 18,Paul Comer took him to a bus station with a ticket to California and a map of local homeless shelters. Afterwards, the couple threw away everything in the home that had anything to do with Mitch, including his baby shoes and pictures.
Mitch was found wandering a Los Angeles bus station by a former security guard who called police. Mitch was emaciated, stood 5-feet-1 and weighed only 89-pounds. He looked like a 12-year-old, according to police, and had translucent skin from not having been exposed to sunlight for years.…

Dallas, TX – This is one of those horrendous child abuse stories that keep me from typing up another child abuse story for a week or so. But if you are looking to hate anyone today, I give you Aaron and Elizabeth Ramsey, a Texas couple who admitted to starving a 10-year-old boy to death.

WHITMORE, Calif. – We have hundreds of stories involving women killing their infants after giving birth. Some choose to suffocate the baby while others stab them to death. Others, like the woman police arrested in California, let their baby starve to death.
Jessica Nicole Bradford, 23, was arrested Sunday after the mummified remains of her baby were found inside a utility closet at Julian Youth Academy. Bradford lived and worked at the school that’s described as a Christian residential boarding school for troubled teens.
She admitted to police that after getting pregnant she hid her pregnancy from everyone, including her boyfriend of three years, giving birth to a baby girl on Sep 19th. Instead of dropping her off at a hospital, or giving the child up for adoption, Bradford decided to kill the infant by doing nothing it all, including not even giving the girl a name.
She admitted to hiding her daughter in a vacant building where she lived for four days before starving to death. Bradford said she would periodically check on her baby during this time to check on the progress of her murder, in between working and visiting her boyfriend.…

The other day, an emaciated one-year-old female dog jumped from a third story window in an effort to save herself from starving to death.
The pit bull mix broke her hip and hind leg upon landing and more than likely would have died had had a cop not witnessed the dog’s three-story plunge. Animal control officials were called and immediately began treating her.
Officials would also find a four-month-old puppy starving to death on the first floor of the flea-infested apartment. The property manager told police the tenant had moved out a couple month’s ago and did not have their contact information.
The female, named Miracle, underwent surgery on Monday and will be placed into the custody of Forever Paws Animal Shelter once she recovers. The puppy, Gracie, was in a lot worse shape but is alive and recovering in the shelter’s ICU.
Officials do not know who left the dogs to die like that, but say they will find out who is responsible.…

DE SOTO, Kan. – Got another update for you. Remember Rachel Perez? She’s the chick we reported on last year who got busted trying to starve her 6-year-old disabled son to death while keeping him locked in the attic.
Last week the 27-year-old was sentenced to 102 months in prison after she pled guilty to aggravated endangering of a child, and felony child abuse. She also pled no contest to attempted second degree murder.
Last August, police were asked to check on Perez’s son who has Downy Syndrome. Perez informed them that the boy was with his father, but because of outstanding warrants, Perez was arrested. The boy’s grandmother called police later that evening and asked them to please search the house for the boy.
What police found inside the home’s attic was a starving 6-year-old boy covered in his own urine and feces. Witnesses described a boy so malnourished that you could see his bones underneath his skin. Doctors stated he would not have lasted much longer. The boy’s two sisters, ages 8 and 5, told police their mother would not feed their brother and that he would cry for hours inside the locked attic.…

IRVINGTON, NJ – I’m having a shit week so I think I will focus on child killers, a subject I usually like to stay away from.
Starting with 30-year-old Venette Ovilde, a woman who was arrested on charges of aggravated manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child after her severely malnourished 8-year-old daughter was found dead.
Ovilde called 911 on Sunday to report that the girl was not breathing. When police arrived they not only found the girl dead, they found her looking like one of those starving Ethiopian kids on television eating bowls of sand with flies hanging out on their eyeballs. She was also sporting an untreated fracture of the femur which an autopsy would later reveal is what she died from.
They also found a 7-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy suffering from similar symptoms, both malnourished and sporting fractures and other physical injuries. The siblings, who were not registered at any schools, were taken to the hospital for observation.
Police feel Ovilde, who is from Haiti, was abusing the children because of possible religious reasons. Police also arrested Ovilde’s roommate, 23-year-old Myriam Janvier, charging them with endangering the welfare of a child.…

Hayes, VA – Brian and Shannon Gore were featured just a couple days ago, but because of recently released information, I wanted to get a quickie update posted here.
Investigators landed on the couple’s doorstep last week hoping to question the pair about some stolen gold bullion. During the course of their investigation, deputies found a shit covered young girl wasting away in a makeshift crib-cage inside the trailer. The tiny child was suffering from bedsores and severe starvation. Detectives say the kid was so hungry she was eating the flaky skin off her forehead.
Aside from the delectable flaky forehead skin, the child’s diet apparently consisted of Pop-tarts and sandwiches. She was allowed one Pop-tart in the morning and one in the evening. Every now and then she was given a sandwich to go along with her evening meal.
Brian Gore reportedly told police no one knew the child existed. He also claims the girl was born in the trailer on December 5, 2008, and has no birth certificate.…

Hayes, VA — While investigating a string of burglaries in the area, deputies stopped at the home Brian and Shannon Gore share with their two young children to ask a few questions on Thursday – in doing so, they may well have saved the life of the couple’s severely neglected daughter.
Inside the couple’s trailer, deputies found a 5-6 year old girl imprisoned in a crib that had been modified to form a makeshift cage – a piece of plywood on top of the crib prevented her escape. The naked child was covered in feces. Police say the girl was extremely malnourished and suffering from severe starvation.
“The doctors at CHKD (Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters) told us last night that if we had not discovered this child, by next week, at this time, the child would probably have been deceased,” said Chief Deputy Darrell Warren, Jr.
Though Shannon was often seen toting an infant around the neighborhood, neighbors say they had no clue she had another child wasting away inside the trailer.…

GREENSBURG, Ind. – Another story about a mother starving her disabled son, but this one ended tragically. Police have charged Courtney Gail Tressler, 26, with reckless homicide and neglect of a dependent in connection to the death of her 4-year-old son, Payton. The little boy was doomed from the start. At two months old, his father abused him so badly that he was left brain damaged and unable to walk or talk. When an autopsy was performed on Payton, who only weighed 12-pounds at the time of his death on May 17, it was revealed that he died of malnutrition and dehydration. Even though Tressler told police she had fed the boy, the medical examiner noted that there was no food in the boy’s stomach or intestines. The report also stated the skin on his face was drawn tightly against his skull and face bones. Tressler told police she had planned on taking Payton to the hospital a couple days before he died, but she didn’t have the money. She also told them she had applied for Medicaid in 2009, but police say that’s bullshit.…

DE SOTO, Kan. – Cops received a phone call from the grandmother of a 6-year-old boy with Down syndrome asking that they perform a welfare check on the little boy at the home where he lives with his mother.
When police arrived at the home of Rachel Perez, she informed them that the boy was with relatives, but police ended up arresting her because of an outstanding traffic warrant. Later that night the grandmother called the police again and asked them to please research the house for the little boy.
When officers searched the house a second time, they found the boy in the attic of the home. The property manager who let deputies into the house described what he saw. “They found him in the attic full of feces on his face, no more than 20 pounds. He was real starved to death.”
He was so malnourished you could see the bones underneath his skin. Perez, who is five months pregnant and has two daughters ages 6 and 8, was then charged with child abuse and child endangerment.…

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Michael Rabold, 24, and Royanne Darr, 22, have been charged with the death of their 2-month-old son. On the night of his death, Isaac was having problems breathing. Heeding the advice of his mother, Rabold took Isaac outside where the temperature was in the 30s. Admittedly, I have heard variations of this technique before when dealing with babies with croup, but I think Rabold confused a home remedy to help an infant with the act of making ice cubes. He didn’t wrap Isaac up and take him in the cold air for a few minutes, he simply set him on the front porch and then forgot about him. Over an hour passed before Rabold and Darr stopped playing World of Warcraft remembered they had left a 2-month-old on the porch to freeze to death, but it was too late. When paramedics arrived, they found Issac breathing shallow and with gray skin. He was rushed to the hospital where he died. A pathologist would later determine that Isaac died of malnutrition and dehydration while suffering from hypothermia, bed sores, deterioration of the hair follicles and a pervasive rash.…

San Antonio, TX - The woman to the left is Robin Palafos – quite the picture of health overindulgence, no? You can certainly tell the woman hasn’t skipped any meals. Her fiance, Luis Valenzuela, is pretty beefy lookin’ too, as you will see after the jump. Robin’s 4-year-old daughter, however, has missed more than just a few meals – the poor kid has been starved. Authorities were alerted to the alleged neglect and abuse after the couple had the child seen at a clinic on Thursday. CPS reports that the 3-foot tall child weighed no more than 23 pounds, had sores on her hips and was wearing a diaper that would fit a 1-year-old. When questioned, Robin told police she was well aware of the child’s sad condition – stating that “it was like touching skin and bones” when she held her. Robin also informed police that the child was fed a meal consisting of cereal or macaroni and cheese just once a day. Why? Because Luis told Robin not to feed the child and because she didn’t want any arguments, she complied with his wishes.…

She experienced a number of health problems, had a stroke, got tuberculosis, and spent her life being fed PediaSure though a feeding tube, but still, she weighed a respectable 35 pounds at age 2 (and could sit up, say “mama” and “daddy,” watch TV, and cry when it was diaper change time). Gun Barrel City, TX- There’s not a whole lot of info. on this one, but I believe these two deserve their fifteen minutes of shame after what happened to their baby boy. Investigators were called to the East Texas Medical Center in Gun Barrel City on May 5 and found a deceased 4-month old child in an emergency room. Officers noted that the baby boy was severely underweight. The boy’s bones were visible through his skin and his eyes were sunken into his head. The child had been taken to the hospital after he was found not breathing. After a three month investigation, the parents of the child have been arrested. Shawn Davis Wagner, 22, and Kristina Faye Tello, 21, are now charged with manslaughter after an autopsy report revealed their son, Hayden, died of starvation and his death was ruled a homicide. They are each being held on a $1,000,000 bond. …

Chesapeake, Virginia–Carly Sawyer was a beautiful little 5-year-old girl trapped in the middle of a bitter custody dispute.
