Gun Barrel City, TX- There’s not a whole lot of info. on this one, but I believe these two deserve their fifteen minutes of shame after what happened to their baby boy. Investigators were called to the East Texas Medical Center in Gun Barrel City on May 5 and found a deceased 4-month old child in an emergency room. Officers noted that the baby boy was severely underweight. The boy’s bones were visible through his skin and his eyes were sunken into his head. The child had been taken to the hospital after he was found not breathing. After a three month investigation, the parents of the child have been arrested. Shawn Davis Wagner, 22, and Kristina Faye Tello, 21, are now charged with manslaughter after an autopsy report revealed their son, Hayden, died of starvation and his death was ruled a homicide. Black Diamond, WA –  Christopher Wise, 41, was a lazy son who didn’t have a job and lived with his mother.  That alone isn’t a crime, but allowing Ruby Wise, 88, to slowly starve to death is.  He lived downstairs while his mother was confined to the upstairs of their home.  Out of sight doesn’t always mean out of mind. Chesapeake, Virginia–Carly Sawyer was a beautiful little 5-year-old girl trapped in the middle of a bitter custody dispute. For 2 1/2 years, two families fought over the child…but, in the end, her father, 24-year-old Joshua Sawyer, was granted custody. Wednesday evening, paramedics were called to the Sawyer home on a report of an unresponsive child. There was little that could be done for her…Carly died on Thursday. Now Joshua and his second wife, 21-year-old Brandy Sawyer, are facing murder charges in the death of the little girl with the precious smile. [Read more...]

Tucson, AZ – It’s a relatively common phenomenon–someone signs an agreement for a rental storage unit, gets assigned a space, stows his stuff…and then doesn’t keep up with the payments. It happened in Tucson at a rental facility called the U-Store-It, and in February 2007, the unit in question got cleaned out.

Among other items, employees found a plastic tub. A plastic tub that smelled horrible. The tub and the unit’s other contents went into the trash dumpster. Apparently at least one employee worried over that tub overnight, because the next day, police were called to investigate. Nashville, TN - Some of you might remember a story we did back in January about a guy named Jerald Hicks, who starved his children. Hicks’ 17-month-old son, Jerald Hicks Jr., was dead on arrival at an emergency room on January 24, 2008. Baby Jerald died of starvation and hypothermia, and weighed only ten pounds at his death. His two-year-old sister LaTarvia was also severely malnourished, but survived. Now the children’s mother and grandmother have been arrested and charged in connection with baby Jerald’s death. Norfolk, VA – Heaven Kristina Smith, 21, is a fat porker who starved her ten-month-old twin daughters. Miracle Grace Bryant died on Tuesday, April 8, and her twin HeavenHeaven reviews L. Bryant is in critical condition. Smith’s babydaddy, Corey Alan Bryant, 21, returned from a three-week deployment on Tuesday, arriving at home just in time to call 911. AUGUSTA, Ga. - Christine Baxter, 30, was blind, deaf and unable to feed herself. Her sister, Jeanne Peterson and Peterson's husband Buel, were supposed to be her caregivers. Houston – This beautiful Houston couple, Geneva Foster, the boy’s mother, and Michael Ryan, his stepfather, were arrested and charged with starving and abusing a 13-year-old boy they kept locked in the attic of their home. Aside from weighing just 72 pounds, the boy also had broken bones, bite scars and damage to his liver, pancreas and kidneys. There were also four other children in the home who have been removed and placed in foster care. They showed no signs of abuse.

Continuing my thoughts that all stepparents hate their stepchildren, I would guess that the other four kids were the product of the couple.
