Valley Falls, KS — The happy lookin’ fella to the left is 25-year-old Brandon Smelser – he was taken into custody over the weekend for allegedly getting all stabby when a friend showed up at a party with the wrong beer.
Police say Smelser and 22-year-old Chris Daniel got into a fight in the parking lot of a mobile home park early Saturday morning after Daniel had the nerve to show up with an undisclosed amount of Natural Light beer instead of Smelser’s desired brand. That’s when Smelser reportedly got all stab happy.
Daniel was transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery for injuries considered to be life-threatening. He remains hospitalized.
Smelser was promptly booked on charges of first-degree attempted murder. A bond amount has not been made available.

RENTON, Wash. – Police have arrested a man and charged him with the murder of a teen who went missing nearly a year ago.
Kathy Chou, 19, left her home on April 18, 2010 and was never heard from again. Friends and family stated she had learning disabilities and was very naive. Police conducted searches and interviewed friends, but the case had gone cold with no leads as to her whereabouts. That is until June 23, a little over a year since Chou was last seen, when a man came to police and told them he was pretty sure he knew what had happened to the teen.
He said that on the night she vanished her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Ezekiel J. Watkins, came to his home with dirt and blood on his clothes. Watkins had been interviewed by police before, as he had dated Chou after meeting over the Internet, but he claimed they had broken up months ago. He also had an alibi in the form of a friend who told police on the night Chou went missing, Watkins was at his home.…

Gurnee, IL - Ainsley Ball, 22, was arrested for allegedly stabbing an apartment-mate in the back of the head. This after she reportedly refused to have sex with him. That’ll make her come around.
According to police, an officer heard a loud scream as she got in her squad car to begin her shift Wednesday morning – appearing to have come from a nearby apartment complex. Investigating, the officer reportedly then saw the woman on an apartment balcony with what appeared to be blood on her shoulder.
The woman told the officer that Ball had been sleeping upstairs in her apartment. Just before the incident, he had woken her up and requested sex. According to Gurnee Police Cmdr. Jay Patrick, when she turned him down, Ball allegedly stabbed her in the back of the head with a kitchen knife.
When the woman felt blood, she grabbed the knife and began struggling with Ball, police said. Ball ran from the apartment before police arrived. Police found him shortly after in a wooded area nearby – presumably cornered by animals in search of nesting materials.…

Hypoluxo, FL – According to police, Jeffery Waites, 57, threw a butter knife at his wife during an argument. The knife reportedly entered her skull through the left side of her nose. As horrible as this sounds, it is worth noting that – at any carnival in the U.S. – a throw such as this would earn him a stuffed animal. Not one of those medium-sized ones, either. …a large one.
Waites reportedly called 911 requesting emergency medical assistance for his wife. During the call, Waites told dispatchers that he had a fight with his wife and threw a butter knife at her. According to the Lantana Police arrest report, Waites noted during the call that the knife was ‘now stuck in her head.’
When police arrived, they found the woman lying on the floor and bleeding from her head. She told reponding officers that the knife had just “come out.” Despite this, police and rescue personnel insisted on pursuing the matter.
According to the report, she was taken to a local medical center and was considered to be in good condition.…

Denver, CO — A 19-year-old man was taken into custody Monday after police say he stabbed and slashed his 5-month-old American Bulldog because the pup supposedly bit him.
According to police and animal control officers, the pup, Diamond, was found wandering near Matthew Weatherspoon’s apartment early Monday morning suffering from numerous stab wounds. The critter was transported to a veterinary hospital, where he underwent three hours of surgery. He is expected to survive.
When questioned about the bloodied animal, Weatherspoon told police he became angry after Diamond bit him, so he grabbed a knife and stabbed the pup five times, slashing his adorable puppy face. Weatherspoon then got pissed because the dog was bleeding all over his apartment, so he tossed him outside. Police say Weatherspoon had no visible bite marks. Shame…
Weatherspoon was arrested Monday afternoon and is now being held and investigated for aggravated animal cruelty, a felony.

Bangor, ME — Roxanne Jeskey, 48, was arrested Wednesday night in connection with the brutal torture and murder of her husband, 53-year-old Richard Jeskey. And she didn’t murder him just a little bit either…
According to the police affidavit, Richard’s naked, beaten and bloodied body was found in the bathtub on June 13. An autopsy conducted the next day revealed extensive multiple blunt and sharp force injuries to the head, neck, torso, and limbs…
“These included nose fractures, loss of an eye, rib fractures, rectal incised wounds, and internal hemmorhage from an instrument(s) pushed through his scrotum into his abdomen,” Bangor police Detective David Bushey wrote in the affidavit. “Further, Mr. Jeskey was strangled with sufficient force to break the hyoid bone of his neck.”
Roxanne reportedly admitted to police that she assaulted her husband with various weapons including pliers, a box cutter and a plastic baseball bat.
She described to detectives how she used a pair of pliers to injure Richard’s genitals, stating that as he sat in the bathtub, presumably bleeding from his baby-maker, he “made a statement concerning the fact that she had hurt him,” to which she replied, “Now you know how I feel.”
Roxanne told police she exited the bathroom and left Richard sitting in the bathtub.…

Fond du Lac, WI – A 9-year-old girl came to the aid of her mother by stabbing Jason Fields, 27, in the back for the second time in two years. The woman and Fields have a child in common.
It all began when police were called to the woman’s home last week after Fields jumped on the woman’s car and broke the windshield. According to the complaint, police left after Fields gave the woman money for the windshield and assured them that he would leave the home for the day. He did not.
The couple started fighting shortly after police left. Fields is accused of strangling the woman and holding a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her. As Fields was threatening her, police say the 9-year-old girl plunged a kitchen knife into Field’s back – he then dropped his knife in response.
According to the complaint, the 9-year-old girl told police she was not upset by the incident as she had stabbed Fields in the leg two years earlier when he also was hurting her mother.…

Knotts Island, NC — Rebecca Blackmore, 16, is facing charges of first-degree murder after police say she stabbed her newborn daughter to death shortly after squishing her out.
As is the case in most of these types of stories, Blackmore showed up at the emergency room after delivering the child, but had no baby. When questioned, she reportedly told police the child was stillborn and they could find the body in her bedroom closet.
Well, she was honest about one thing…there was a dead baby in her closet, but the autopsy showed the baby girl was not stillborn, she was alive at birth and for a short time thereafter. She’d probably still be breathing were it not for all those pesky stab wounds…
Though it was a relative that escorted Blackmore to the emergency room, it is unclear whether the family knew of Blackmore’s pregnancy.
Blackmore is currently behind bars on a $500,000 bond. In North Carolina, suspects 16 and older are charged as adults regardless of the crime.

Glendale, CA — John Levin, 46, was found guilty of second-degree murder Wednesday in the stabbing death of his wife. Before a verdict could be returned in the microwave murder of his dog, he entered a guilty plea to animal cruelty.
His wife, Michelle Levin, 35, was found in September 2008 three days after the murder. During court testimony, an officer said that he and a colleague went to Levin’s home Sept. 11 and found it littered with dog excrement, rotting food and numerous pills scattered on a table. They eventually gained entry to a locked second-floor bedroom, where they found Michelle Levin’s body on the floor next to the bed. The couple’s dead Pomeranian had also been stuffed inside the microwave, he said.
An autopsy of the dog revealed that it died as a result of the microwave radiation to its entire body, Deputy Dist. Atty. Jodi Taksar said.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested Levin in Washington State about a week later as Levin tried to cross into Canada.…

Anaheim, CA — A teenager has been arrested, accused of stabbing a 12-year-old to death and police say the stabbing stemmed from the two belonging to rival graffiti crews.
Juan Martinez was walking home from Sycamore Junior High School, where he was a seventh-grader, when he was approached by 18-year-old Bryan Ocampo (pictured). Martinez hung around the graffiti crew Sky’s the Limit, or STL. Ocampo was a member of a rival crew called Downtown Anaheim, or DTA. The pair began fighting over disparaging remarks Martinez allegedly made against DTA and another tagging crew when Ocampo pulled out a knife and stabbed the boy multiple times in the chest.
One of Martinez’s friends was nearby and witnessed the whole incident. He says he ran after his friend and tried to help him before Martinez passed out. ”I got my sweater, and I put it on his chest so he wouldn’t bleed to death. And I was just telling him that it’s OK,” said Anthony Bustos. But he couldn’t stop the bleeding and Martinez would be pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.…

Watertown, NY. – An 18-year-old woman had a few charges brought against her after she allegedly stabbed a man early Saturday morning.
The encounter between Kenna Rae Williams and her ex-boyfriend, Corey R. Smith, turned violent around 3 am Saturday morning, when she revealed a butcher’s knife and turned on her boyfriend outside of his home. She stabbed the victim twice in his back and cut his hand in the process. An ambulance was called for the man, but his condition is unknown.
And it seems she wasn’t just trying to wing him. She allegedly stated, “I’m going to kill you,” during the incident, police said. Williams’ little stint earned her a few charges, including charges of second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. She is being held on $5,000 cash bail.
Although the article states she has no previous record, a quick Google search reveals she is no stranger to police . I’m not going to list all of the articles that came up on this chick (I found two cases from this year alone), but she was charged back in 2009 with second-degree harassment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.…

Maricopa, AZ — Linda Burchfield was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after police say she slit a man’s throat during a relaxing post-coital massage.
Police say the 22-year-old woman was invited over to the victim’s residence Tuesday night to partake in the consumption of marijuana and various alcoholic beverages. When the party broke up shortly after midnight, Burchfield and the victim headed into the bedroom for some consensual nookie.
Police say Burchfield began arguing with the man soon after the lovin’ was over, demanding to know where he kept his cash. Though he stood his ground and refused to tell the woman where he stashed his cash, dude caved when Burchfield offered him a relaxing back massage.
At some point during the massage, Burchfield reportedly grabbed a nearby fillet knife and slit dude’s throat. I see I’m not the only who keeps their slitty, slashy, stabby stuff hidden in various locations throughout the bedroom…

OSTEEN, Fla. – An 8-year-old boy may face an aggravated battery charge after he went nuts and stabbed a teacher with a pencil.
The boy was in an after-school program in the cafeteria of Osteen Elementary School when he began running around screaming like an idiot. When the teacher, 47-year-old Kelleen Long, approached the boy he grabbed a pencil and began moving towards another student.
When Long stepped in to protect the other student, the 8-year-old turned on her and attempted to stab her in the face with the pencil. Long was able to shield her face but was stabbed in the forearm, leaving lead lodged inside her. The boy then dropped to the ground.
Long did not require medical attention, but according to deputies she does want to file charges against the boy. His mother was called to the school to calm him down and explained that while he was not on any medication, her son was taking fish oil to help with his anger issues.
I’m thinking maybe it’s time she introduces the boy to handfuls of Valium…or possibly a dog crate.…

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Police have charged a man with attempted murder after he tried to set his girlfriend on fire before stabbing her in the chest.
The unidentified woman says that a few days after kicking out her boyfriend, Michael P. Sutherland, for not paying any bills, she was awakened by a noise and found that her front door was open. As she went to close it, someone dumped gasoline on her head.
She turned around to see her boyfriend standing there trying to light a lighter. Fortunately for her, the lighter would only spark. The two began struggling when Sutherland grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest. “Not today,” she told Death and somehow was able to get away, call 911 and drive herself to the hospital. She is expected to survive.
Deputies stopped Sutherland after they found him walking down the road shirtless, smelling like gas. Sutherland told the officers that he had tried to set his girlfriend on fire, but the lighter didn’t work, and that he was currently on his way to a friend’s house where he planned to hang himself.…

Washington, DC — On November 27th of last year, 17 year-old Ebony Franklin was reported missing by her mother. On the 29th, her body was discovered by a pedestrian in a trash container located in an alley. Franklin had been stabbed fifteen times and dropped head first into the receptacle.
The girl was supposed to have been spending the weekend of the 26th with her father. In fact, the two were supposedly meeting that day so he could give her some Christmas presents. Dear old dad, however, apparently told the girl’s mother she had to decided to spend the weekend with her boyfriend. Several calls and texts were later made from Franklin’s phone, to her mother and others, including this: “Remember, the bitch told on my man nowyoo get her out the trash.”
Police say that this was an attempt by the girl’s father, Rodney J. McIntyre, to point investigators away from him. After being questioned several times since November, police have arrested McIntyre and he has been charged with first-degree murder as of Monday.…

Brunswick, ME — 32 year-old Nicole Hubert is looking a little Vanilla Sky after jumping from a moving vehicle on Sunday, a vehicle that was carrying her boyfriend to the hospital after she allegedly stabbed him in the chest. Like the aforementioned movie, this one takes a bit to make sense of, so we’ll start at the beginning.
At roughly 2am Sunday morning Hubert and her boyfriend had an argument. Police say that alcohol was a factor in the argument, which is odd since most 2am Sunday arguments I have are about (and caused by) puppy dogs. As a result of the argument, Hubert decided the unidentified 37 year-old man would look more handsome with a knife in his chest.
Hubert and a man who witnessed the stabbing attempted to drive the victim to the hospital. Though it’s unclear just who was driving the vehicle, what is clear is that at some point Hubert chose not to be in the car anymore and jumped out, using her face to break the fall.…

Bakersfield, CA — Danielle Mailloux, 24, was taken into custody Sunday after police say she repeatedly stabbed her 6-week-old daughter with a kitchen knife. Fortunately, the infant survived the attack and is now listed in fair condition with multiple stab wounds to the chest and back.
According to Kern County Sheriff’s spokesman Ray Pruitt, the infant’s father called authorities after he arrived home and discovered the injuries. At this point, it is unknown how many times the baby was stabbed, or even how much time passed between the alleged attack and arrival of paramedics.
Police say this isn’t the first time the woman has been investigated for crimes against children. Danielle reportedly gave birth to a full-term stillborn in March of 2009 – test results showed the infant died as a direct result of Danielle’s methamphetamine use. Though the coroner ruled the death a homicide, no charges were filed because under California law, murder charges can’t be applied if “the act was solicited, aided, abetted, or consented to by the mother of the fetus.”
Danielle’s mother, Lynna Shroyer, has said that the death of that child has been weighing heavily on Danielle lately, and she was feeling a little depressed.…

Sidney, AU – Ramazan Acar, 24, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to killing his daughter after he announced his intent to do it on Facebook. Acar stabbed his 2-year-old daughter, Yazmina, to death last November reportedly to hurt Yazmina’s mother – his former fiancée Rachelle D’Argent.
Acar contacted D’Argent asking if he could let Acar take her out to a chocolate shop. The mother allowed Acar to take her – citing the fact that the girl had not seen Acar in three months and she was “excited to see him.”
Acar did not return as planned and began threatening to kill Yazmina through Facebook posts and text messages and phone calls to D’Argent.
On the day of the murder, Acar posted “Bout 2 kill ma kid” on Facebook. He then phoned D’Argent and asked her if she wanted to say some last words to Yazmina. The 2-year-old girl told her mom “I love you” and D’Argent replied “I love you too.”
Acar then repeatedly stabbed the girl with a 12-inch knife – Yazmina died due to wounds to her chest and stomach, in what forensic experts said was a ‘prolonged death.’ Police later located the child’s body on the side of a road in northwestern Melbourne.…

Charleston, WV — The handsome devil to the left is 19-year-old Mark Thompson – he apparently got high on bath salts over the weekend and abducted his neighbor’s pet pygmy goat. And then it got weird….
Lisa Powers told police she bought the goat for her 4-year-old grandson on Friday. “The baby just loved him,” she said. Early Monday morning, Powers’ nephew, Joshua Pollis, got a call from one of Thompson’s neighbors. The goat, Bailey, had been goatnapped.
“They told him that my goat was wandering around in Mark’s house and he’d better come and get it,” Powers said. “They called my nephew because he’d been there before.”
Pollis and two unidentified women headed over to Thompson’s to retrieve the goat. As they approached Thompson’s bedroom, he called out to them. “Don’t come in,” he said. “I’m naked.” Undaunted, the trio continued toward the bedroom.
“They opened the door and he was standing there with his pants down. He had on women’s clothing (bra and panties) and the goat was dead and there was blood everywhere,” said Powers.…
