Teenage Brother And Sister Dead After Tampa Home InvasionTampa, FL – Police are looking for the person(s) who entered a home in Tampa, fatally shot a 16-year-old girl and critically injured her 13-year-old brother.

On Sunday morning neighbors reported hearing gunshots from a home on Van Buren Drive. Inside police would find the house in disarray and the bodies of Kiara Brito and her brother, Jeremi, in the main room of the home.

Both teens had been shot multiple times in the upper body. Kiara was already dead but Jeremi was still alive. He was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition. He is currently on life support and not expected to make it through the day.  – UPDATE: He didn’t.

They lived at the home with their mother, Judi, who was not at the home at the time. Police are not releasing where she was, but state she is fully cooperating with police. Man Arrested After Beating, Shooting, Setting Fire To NeighborBaton Rouge, LA — Theodis Guillory, 28, was taken into custody late last week after police say he beat, shot and set fire to his neighbor.

According to police, Guillory beat the man with a board and shot him in the chest before dousing him with gasoline and lighting him up early Friday morning.

The victim, identified only as a 51-year-old man, somehow survived the attack and was able to run to a neighbor’s home to get help. He’s been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The why’s and the what for’s are still unknown at this point, but if I had to speculate, I’d say it probably had something to do with the neighbor’s musical taste and/or dog shit.

Guillory has been booked on charges of attempted murder and aggravated arson.…

Police File Charges Against Suspect In Fatal Road Rage ShootingHouston, Texas — I’ve got a few updates to report, starting with police finally filing murder charges in relation to a road rage shooting death we reported on last year.

For the link-impaired, back in October Theodore Mitsakos honked at a black truck that had pulled out in front of him. What followed was an 8-mile chase in broad daylight as the occupants in the black truck were hanging out of the windows shooting at Mitsakos.

The poor guy had time to call 911 and his business partner and explain that he was being chased before a bullet would strike him in the head, killing him. Mitsako’s vehicle would hit another vehicle before plowing into an occupied apartment building.

Witnesses described a black pickup being driven by two light-skinned black or dark-skinned Hispanic males but that’s about all the information police had to go on. “We don’t have any license plate or suspect names yet,” said Houston Police Sgt. Chris Cegielski at the time.

Now, six months and some Crime Stopper tips later, police have filed murder charges against 25-year-old Jose Gerardo Silva, a known gang member with a lengthy criminal history. He wasn’t too hard to find as he was sitting in a Texas prison.…

Man Accidentally Shot To Death By Girlfriend While Stopping Pit Bull AttackIndianapolis, IN - A man trying to stop a pit bull from attacking a neighbor’s dog was accidentally shot and killed by his girlfriend.

This tragic story, another notable example of “no good deed goes unpunished,” began when 57-year-old Roosevelt Griffin heard a neighbor calling for help across the street as a pit bull viciously attacked her dog. Griffin ran over to help, along with his live-in girlfriend of 10 years, 49 year-old Carolyn Walker, who had also brought a gun.

While the couple were trying to stop the attack, the pit bull turned on Griffin. Walker took aim and tried to shoot the pit bull but tripped, accidentally shooting Griffin in the face. He would die a short time later at the hospital. Police have deemed the shooting an accident and do not plan on pressing any charges.

Friends and neighbors don’t blame Walker for Griffin’s death, but do blame the unknown owners of the pit bull that’s still on the loose. Griffin was described as a  good man who would do anything for anybody in the neighborhood and owned two pit bulls himself, probably explaining why he felt confident intervening in the first place.…

Police: Sex Snub Leads To Murder Of 19 Year Old ManPhoenix, AZ — Tiana Turnman, 18, and Shykeem Jones, 24, are both in police custody, facing charges of kidnapping and murder, after the two allegedly exacted deadly revenge over an apparent nookie session gone bad.

Police said between Saturday night and early Sunday morning, Turnman and five others were hanging out in the apartment 19-year-old Paul Katoa shares with his pregnant girlfriend. At some point that evening, Turnman reportedly hooked up with Andrew McConnell, a friend of Katoa’s, and the two had sex. When the lovin’ was over, witnesses say Turnman got a little pissy due to “a dispute over money exchanged during the sex act” and because McConnell left before the wet spot dried.

The pissed off woman left the apartment, only to return a short time later with a friend. And that friend, Shykeem Jones, was armed with a handgun.

Police say Turnman locked the front door while Jones ordered the others, three men and two women, to hit the ground. After Jones kicked one of the men in the head, Katoa rushed him, and the two began struggling over the gun.…

Intended Rape Victim Shoots Intruder Nine TimesGWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – A little late with this one, but a man who broke into a home and attacked a woman has died after she shot his ass nine times.

The 53-year-old woman was home alone taking a shower when the bathroom lights went out. When she pulled back the shower curtain she was greeted by 34-year-old Israel Perez Puentes putting a knife to her throat. The woman fell back into the tub and tried using the shower rod to fight off Puentes pleading for her life and telling him she had money.

Puentes was finally able to force the injured woman into the bedroom where Puentes was unaware she had something much better than a shower rod at her disposal in the form of a .22-caliber handgun. After grabbing the gun, she used it to shoot Puentes nine times. After being turned into Swiss cheese, Puentes tried fleeing from the scene only to collapse in the backyard. He would die later at the hospital.

Police don’t know why the woman, a veteran private school counselor, was targeted by Puentes, a Cuban national, but feel he stalked her for days because neighbors saw Puentes’ car parked in the neighborhood days earlier.…

Bath Salts Blamed For Shootout

May 13, 2011 at 9:46 am by

Bath Salts Blamed For ShootoutHuntingdon, PA — This fella here is Jeremiah Shoop. Aside from having one of the most Looney Tunes mugshots I’ve ever seen, Shoop was also involved in an incident which resulted in a shootout, sending one man to the hospital and three to jail. The shooting apparently involved the use of ‘bath salts,’ which if you didn’t know is actually this.

The incident reportedly occurred in the basement apartment where 23 year-old William Ledford Jr. lives. Ledford was there with two other men, 18 year-old Joshua Lemin and 24 year-old Dustin Scott. It was with the arrival of a fourth man, 31 year-old Jeremiah Shoop, that the sh!t hit the fan. It has been reported that the three were high on bath salts or that Shoop had come to steal their bath salts, or both. What the three men did next makes it very easy to believe they were on something.

Shoop, who had allegedly been making threatening phone calls to Ledford in the days prior, knocked on the door and called Ledford out.…

Juveniles Kill Teen They Lured With Fake Craigslist AdSan Diego, CA – A teenager was shot to death after responding to a fake ad posted on Craigslist.

When 18-year-old Garrett Berki and his girlfriend arrived at a location to purchase an item they saw for sale on Craigslist, they found out that the three 17-year-old black males they met weren’t selling anything at all. They had lured Berki to the location to rob him and his girlfriend of their cash and cell phones before jumping in a car and taking off.

Maybe he was just too pissed to think clearly, or maybe his ego clouded his judgement, but for whatever reason Berki made a fatal mistake when he began following the robbers in order to get their license plate number. When Berki followed the teens into a cul-de-sac, he was fired upon after the their car passed each other. Berki was struck and would later die at the hospital.

After shooting Berki, the three teens fled on foot after they crashed their car, but were apprehended shortly after with the help of air and canine units.…

He would be pronounced dead at Allegheny General Hospital shortly after the witness called police. The witness would later pick out 19 year-old Taivon Lamont Cunningham from a photo lineup. No word on whether or not there’s an app for that…

Woman Charged With Killing Husband, Injuring Son On Mothers DaySanta Ana, CA – Annamaria Magno Gana, 41, was charged with murder Monday after allegedly shooting her husband dead on Mother’s Day. Annamaria faces an additional charge of attempted murder for allegedly shooting her 16-year-old son in the arm in the same incident.

Though motive is unclear at this point, police say it started at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon when Annamaria armed herself with a “high-powered handgun” and fired a shot into a bedroom ceiling.

When Antonio Gana, 72, and the couple’s teen son ran into the room to investigate, the woman reportedly fired, hitting Antonio in the chest. As her son turned to flee, Annamaria fired again, hitting the boy in the arm. Though injured, he managed to call 911.

The shooting may have continued had Annamaria’s 9-year-old son not wrestled the gun away from the crazed woman. Police say the boy grabbed the gun and beat feet outta the house to await the arrival of police and paramedics. Officers later found the gun on the neighbor’s lawn.

Annamaria was taken into custody and transported to Western Medical Center for treatment of gunpowder burns.…

Teen Charged With Killing Mom, Burying Her In BackyardEaston, MA — Seems like we’ve got ourselves a trend here at the DD lately, just in time for everyone’s favorite Hallmark Holiday.

On Wednesday night police received a call about a missing person. An investigation ensued, which would eventually turn up the body of Beth Spartichino, 42, buried in a shallow grave in her backyard. Exhumation of the body revealed what investigators believe to be gunshot wounds to the back. Also found at the scene was a shoe print, which led them to arrest her 17 year-old son, Matthew Worster.

Aside from the shoe print, police say Matthew left other pieces of compelling evidence in the form of voicemails, one of which was left on his father’s phone. In the message, Matthew allegedly stated “I did what I had to do, but know that I will be all right.”

Oddly enough, last year Easton Police received a phone call from Spartichino stating that her estranged husband had threatened to “kill her and bury her in the backyard where no one would find her.” It was around this time that the two began divorce proceedings.…

Man Pleads Guilty To Executing His Family For Not Converting To IslamMadison, WI - James A. Larry, 33, of Madison, Wisconsin was angry that his family would not go along with his conversion to Islam.  Very angry.  Apparently now seeing the error of his ways, Larry pleaded guilty Wednesday to their murders.

Larry had converted to Islam while serving a prison sentence in Wisconsin for a weapons conviction.  His family chose not to convert.

“He was upset at his wife and their family — he felt disrespected that they would not join his religion,” Assistant State’s Attorney Jim McKay said. “He wanted them dead.”

In the early morning hours of April 14, 2010, at the family home, Larry began by shooting his mother, Leona Larry, 57, as she slept on a sofa in the living room. He then went through the house, shooting his wife, Twanda Thompson, 19; his 7-month-old son, Jihad; his 3-year-old niece, Keleasha Larry; and his pregnant 16-year-old niece, Keyshai Fields.

Larry also shot his 13-year-old nephew, Demond Larry, in the face, but the boy survived.

Prosecutors said the defendant also kicked in the bedroom door of a man who lived in the basement of the home and tried to shoot him – apparently because he rented from infidels(?).…

Police say that on Monday morning, the teen had broken into a home owned by two brothers who run a side business that has them keeping large televisions in the house. White Supremacist Leader Is Shot and Killed; His Young Son SuspectedRiverside, CA – Police are reporting a regional director for the National Socialist Movement was shot in killed at his home early Sunday morning, and his 10-year-old son is suspected of pulling the trigger.

Jeff Hall, 32, was a regional director for the National Socialist Movement, a neo-Nazi group based in Detroit. Police responded to his home early Sunday after a report of shots fired. Inside they found Hall dead from a single gunshot wound.

His wife and five other children were at the home at the time of the shooting, but only his 10-year-old son was detained. Police said they were not looking for any additional suspects. They also didn’t state if they felt the shooting was an accident or intentional, but I’m sure that will all come out later when more details are revealed.

Aside from working as a plumber, Hall was gaining a lot of attention with his neo-Nazi endeavors. He ran for a position on the Western Riverside Municipal Water District board in November, but lost to incumbent Tom Evans. A New York Times reporter was at his house covering a rally being held the night before he was shot in which Hall called on members to join him for militia-style raids on illegal immigrants along the Mexico-Arizona border.…

Song, whose credits include Shark Tale, Bee Movie, Flushed Away, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar 2, reportedly scaled a neighbor’s fence on April 20 and shot their muzzled 1-year-old German Shepherd puppy with a pellet gun before chasing it around the yard and beating it to death with a hammer. Police say the entire incident was captured on surveillance video.

“When our officers first viewed the videotape, one of our officers had tears in his eyes. He’d never seen anything like this before,” said Steve McNall, head of the Pasadena Humane Society and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. “In my 31 years at this animal shelter I’ve never seen anything like this.”

The officer left having no reason to doubt the man’s story, but stuck around the area just in case. He ran into a fellow firefighter of Smith’s and after speaking with him, felt that something wasn’t quite right at the home.

When the officer went back to the home, he was once again greeted by Lizana but the officer went inside the home and found Smith. He was in the trunk of his Camero wrapped in plastic. He had been shot four times. Police arrested Lizana and charged him with first degree murder.…
