BROWNSVILLE, TX - Police in Texas had to shoot an kill a 15-year-old boy who was brandishing a firearm inside a Texas middle school.
Not a lot of details yet, but what is being reported is that an 8th-grader brandished a firearm in the main hallway of Cummings Middle School this morning.
School administrators initiated lockdown procedures and contacted the Brownsville Police Department and BISD Police and Security Services.
Responding officers encountered the teen in the hallway outside the principal’s office and ordered him to drop his weapon. The teen reportedly ignored their requests and aimed the gun at police before they shot him three times. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Someone who knew the teen told reporters that the teen played sports and was in the band. They said that shortly before the shooting, he had been in a fight and that both he and his opponent had been sent to the principal’s office.…

HENDERSON, N.C. — A North Carolina teen used a shotgun to give an uninvited guest, who had broken into his home, a few new holes to breathe out of.
Last Thursday, a 17-year-old girl called 911 to report that she was hiding in her bedroom closet while a man was banging on the front door trying to get in. She said that she and her 14-year-old brother were home alone, but that her brother was armed with a shotgun.
Her brother eventually gets on the phone with the 911 dispatcher and calmly tells her he has just shot a man who had gained entry into the home.
“I just shot the man. He came around the corner. I shot him. He broke the whole glass out,” the teen told the 911 dispatcher.
The man who received the teen’s gift of buckshot was 19-year-old Anthony Henderson Jr., and after acquiring his sucking chest wound, he stumbled outside to die on the front lawn.
As the boy and his older sister waited for police to arrive, the dispatcher asks if they are ok. ”I’m perfectly fine,” the teen replies.…

BLANCHARD, Oklahoma – A young mother in Oklahoma killed a man trying to break into her home by giving him a new hole with the aid of a shotgun.
For 20 minutes, 18-year-old Sarah McKinley says she was alone with her 3-month-old baby while two men repeatedly attempted to get inside her home.
“He was from door to door trying to bust in,” said McKinley. “I don’t know what he had in his hand besides the knife. I believe he actually had a hammer in his hand at some point because he was hitting that back door with it.”
In an attempt to stop them from coming inside, she had armed herself with a shotgun, pushed a couch against the back door and called 911 who told her she could use the shotgun if the men entered the house. When 24-year old Justin Shane Martin got the back door open and made his way in the home armed with a knife, that’s exactly what McKinley did, killing Martin with a shot to the upper torso.…

TAYLORSVILLE, UT – A man in Utah proved to be one of the worst roommates ever when he decided to forgo a standard mousetrap and accidentally sent one roommate to the hospital with a hole in his chest, and sent another to jail for raping a 13-year-old girl.
Police were called to a home early Tuesday morning on a call of an accidental shooting. Once there they found a man suffering from a bullet wound to the chest. The 28-year-old had been accidentally shot by his 27-year-old roommate who had used a 9mm handgun to shoot at a mouse in the kitchen. The bullet had passed through the kitchen wall and hit the man while he was in the bathroom.
The wounded roommate was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable. Police said alcohol played a role in the dumbassery. According to police, last Thursday night, James E. Wenberg, 35, contacted Korin Noll through the “back room” area of Craigslist and exchanged text messages to have her come to his house. Koren Noll arrived and “began negotiating a price for a sexual favor,” police said.
After Wenberg paid her the agreed amount, Noll reportedly used Wenberg’s cell phone to contact “a girlfriend” waiting in her car, but the “girlfriend” did not answer. Noll then allegedly told Wenberg that she was going to go outside to “speak with her ‘girlfriend’ and retrieve an outfit.”
Wenberg reportedly became suspicious and demanded she return his money before leaving. Police said that Wenberg first kept her from leaving but, after Korin Noll tried to give him a shot of pepper spray, Wenberg let her keep the money and told her to leave.…

GRAPEVINE, TX – Police say a man was dressed as Santa Claus on Christmas when he shot and killed six relatives before turning the gun on himself.
Police were dispatched to the Lincoln Vineyard apartment complex after a call was made to 911 at around 11:30 a.m. Christmas day in which no one would respond to dispatchers.
When police and firefighters arrived at the apartment the call originated from, located at the back of the complex, they would find a massacre had taken place.
Inside the living room and kitchen area of the apartment police would find seven people, four women and three men aged 15 to 60, dead beside open gifts near a Christmas tree. Some were still sitting on furniture while others were on the floor.
“We think he was just inside there celebrating Christmas with the rest of them and decided for whatever reason that’s how he’s going to end things,” Grapevine police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling told The Associated Press.
The identities of the victims have not been released yet, but all were related either by blood or marriage, according to Grapevine Police Lt.…

Fredericksburg, OH — A 15-year-old Amish girl named Rachel Yoder was riding home alone Thursday night after attending a Christmas party at a nearby produce farm. Inexplicably, as she approached her home, she fell out of the buggy onto the ground. Her brother found her after he saw her horse and buggy circling around her.
The teen died of an apparent head injury. At first, authorities reportedly believed that she had fallen out of the buggy and hit her head. A hospital examination revealed that, in fact, she had been shot in the head.
Wayne County sheriff’s Capt. Douglas Hunter said his department traced a trail of blood along the road the girl had traveled back about three-eighths of a mile into neighboring Holmes County – an area of farms and rolling hills. Although the site of the shooting had been pinpointed, the cause was unknown.
The residents in the area were left to speculate for days. Then, Holmes County Sheriff Timothy Zimmerly said a family who lived about 1.5 miles from the site of the teen’s fatal gunshot wound contacted authorities with the probable cause.…

BATON ROUGE, LA – A teenager robbed an 89-year-old man on Sunday, and was rewarded with the elderly man’s wallet, a bullet to the leg and a trip to jail.
According to police, the victim was washing his car Sunday evening when he was approached by 18-year-old Riki Ingram. The teen demanded money and grabbed for the older man’s wallet.
The man wasn’t gonna let his wallet go that easily and began fighting with Ingram. In response, Ingram pulled out a handgun and fired it into the air. When he put the gun back in his pocket, he accidentally fired it again and shot himself in the leg.
That’s when police say 17-year-old Terrione Booker pulled up in a vehicle and picked up the wounded teen. Police would pull them over later and charge them both with attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.

LETHBRIDGE, Canada – Here’s a story out of Canada proving to our readers that jealous ex-boyfriends with guns who go on a murder spree are not specific to the good ol’ US of A.
Police say early Thursday morning, 21-year-old Derek Jensen was out looking for his ex-girlfriend, 21-year-old Tabitha Stepple, after Jensen went “berserk” when he saw her with friends at a bar Wednesday night.
Stepple was at the bar celebrating Tanner Craswell’s 22nd birthday with her friend 21-year-old Shayna Conway and Craswell’s best friend, 20-year-old Mitchell MacLean. The group left after Jensen confronted them, pushing Stepple out of her chair and yelling at her like a giant douche. He then tried calling her over and over again, leaving an ominous message that stated “This night’s not going to end well for you. I hope you know that.”
Jensen would self-fulfill his prophecy later that night as Conway and Stepple drove to Calgary airport to drop off Craswell and MacLean so they could catch a flight back home for Christmas. While driving down Highway 2 early Thursday morning, the group were rear-ended by another vehicle.…

Las Vegas, NV - Grief counselors were at a Las Vegas elementary school last Wednesday after one of their schoolmates was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Last Tuesday afternoon, police responded to a home on a call of a boy who had been shot. Inside the home they would find 10-year-old Kameron Asgari dead from what police are now saying was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
There have been little in way of details regarding the shooting or the events that lead up to Asgari deciding to end his life. The only info I could find was that he was a fifth-grader at Helen Jydstrup Elementary School where friends say he was “smart, intelligent, and he had lots of friends.”
No word on bullying, disciplinary issues, or possible abuse at this point but the really odd thing about this story is that Asgari wasn’t the only kid in Vegas to shoot themselves that day.
Nine hours after Asgari killed himself, a 13-year-old girl tried to do the same thing but survived the shooting.…

Emington, Ill – Residents of a small farming community 80 miles southwest of Chicago are still dealing with the horrifying events that unfolded in their neighborhood Friday, when a woman shot her boyfriend and three children to death before turning the gun on herself.
Shortly after kids had arrived home from school to start their Christmas break, people reported hearing a series of gunshots coming from the home of 30-year-old Sara McMeen.
One of McMeen’s neighbors told the press that after hearing the gunfire she ran out of her home and saw McMeen in her backyard standing over her daughter, 10-month-old Maggie Warren. The baby was wrapped in a blanket and lying on the ground as if she had been dropped. The neighbor, whose backyard butted up against McMeen’s backyard, asked if everything was all right.
“No, everything is not all right,” McMeen reportedly told the neighbor before bending over at the waist and shooting her baby at point-blank range. Horrified, the neighbor ran for help only to find McMeen lying beside her infant when she returned, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.…

Hollywood, CA – LAPD officers were forced to shoot and kill a 26-year-old man from Pennsylvania who went on a shooting rampage on a downtown street in Hollywood this past Friday.
No one knows for sure why 26-year-old Tyler Brehm decided to use his Smith & Wesson handgun to randomly shoot at motorists on Sunset Blvd, but friends and family say he had been stressed out lately and a recent breakup with Alicia Alligood, his hot ass girlfriend, may not have helped his mental state.
The pair had dated for four years and known each other since they were five. His last entry on his Facebook page was made two days before he began shooting at cars, and it was changing his relationship status to being single. The couple had just recently moved out of an apartment and she told reporters that Brehm recently started taking pharmaceutical drugs.

Pasco County, FL – A little over a week ago we posted a story about a dog who “accidentally” shot a duck hunter in the ass. Now we have this story out of Florida in which a man riding in a truck with a dog was shot after the excited canine bumped into a loaded gun.
Reports say 78-year-old Billy E. Brown and his hunting partner of 25 years were driving down a bumpy road one-and-a-half miles into the woods when a bulldog named Eli got excited and bumped into a loaded Browning 308. The gun fired and Brown was shot in the right thigh.
Brown was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery. As of Saturday he was in critical but stable condition.
I’m starting to suspect that these stories have less to do with careless gun owners and their loaded firearms and more to do with dogs becoming aware of the negative press they receive when they maul someone to death. They’ve simply switched tactics.
Since things always seem to happen in threes, let’s wait and see if a similar story comes out in the near future that lends my theory any credence.…

Weleetka, OK– Three years ago, we posted an article about 13-year-old Taylor Dawn Paschal-Placker and her best friend, 11-year-old Skyla Jade Whitaker. The two girls were walking down a dirt road in Weleetka, Oklahoma when they were gunned down in cold blood. Yesterday police announced they had finally apprehended they feel is person responsible, 25-year-old Kevin Sweat.
We’ve had a couple stories on the site that have always stuck out for me, and this was definitely one of them. For those of you who are not aware of this story, Skyla had spent the night at Taylor’s house and on the afternoon of June 8, 2008, the pair headed to Bad Creek Bridge, where they planned to collect shells and pebbles from the riverbank. When they did not return home , and Taylor would not answer her cell phone, Taylor’s grandfather went looking for them. He didn’t have to look for long.
Lying side-by-side in a ditch a quarter mile from the Taylor’s home were the bodies of the two girls. I could simply say they had been shot to death, but that doesn’t quite relay what someone had done to them.…

San Antonio, TX – A little late getting this one posted as my site wants to be an ass today, but the two kids who were shot by their mother during a standoff at a Texas welfare office are still alive today.
As most of you heard by now, 38-year-old Rachelle Grimmer entered the welfare office Monday afternoon with her two children, 12-year-old Ramie Grimmer and her 10-year-old brother, Timothy Grimmer. She was really pissed off about a whole lot of stuff, including the fact that she had been denied food stamps.
A supervisor took her into a private room so that they could discuss her case, and that’s when Grimmer pulled out a handgun and started an hours long standoff with police. The supervisor convinced Grimmer to let the other employees go, which she did, and stayed with Grimmer. Police tried to negotiate with Grimmer over the phone, but she kept hanging up, eventually letting the supervisor go unharmed at around 7:45 p.m.
Grimmer stayed inside the office with her children for a few more hours until around 11:45 p.m.…

BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — A hunter in Utah is lucky to be alive after a dog accidentally shot him with a shotgun, leaving the hunter with an assful of birdshot.
Police say 46-year-old Robert Cottingham was duck hunting Sunday with his son and brother-in-law when the accident happened. While Cottingham retrieved a duck from the water, an excited Labrador named Piper jumped into the boat they were using and hit a shotgun that had been left laying in the boat.
Piper hit the loaded shotgun in such a way that it fired, hitting Cottingham in the lower back and buttocks from a distance of about 6-feet. A medical helicopter was dispatched but later recalled after medics treated Cottingham at the scene, and then took him to the hospital where 27 birdshot pellets were removed from his ass.
Cottingham is expected to make a full recovery, even though several pellets could not be removed, and says things could have turned out a lot worse. Turns out a duck decoy absorbed a substantial amount of the blast and probably saved his life.…

Guy meets girl. Girl and guy meet for drinks and nookie. Girl tells guy she gave him AIDS. Guy shoots girl in head. Girl says, “Daaamn! Just kiddin’!”
According to authorities, that’s basically what happened between 49-year-old Lloyd Wilkins and his girlfriend on the evening of April 23, 2011. The two had hooked up that evening, and after a few drinks, ended up swapping spit and other bodily fluids. After the lovin’ was over, Wilkins’ girlfriend apparently said something along the lines of, “Oh, snap! You got the AIDS!”
Wilkins responded by walking into his bedroom and retrieving a 12-gauge, single-shot shotgun from his closet. He pointed it in the general direction of the woman’s head. The gun went off, striking the jokester in the brain space. No word on whether he jokingly replied, “Oh, snap! You got the dain bramage!”
Wilkins then called 911 to report that he shot someone. At the same time, the woman called a friend to take her to the hospital. When police arrived on scene, the victim was already on her way to the hospital and Wilkins was waiting for them outside, hands in the air.…

ATLANTA, Ga. - Police have shot a woman to death after they found her sitting in a chair stabbing her daughter repeatedly and refusing to stop.
Police were called to the unidentified woman’s home after she threw her 8-year-old son out of a window. The boy ran to a neighbor asking for help, saying that his mother was trying to kill him.
When police arrived at the home and broke down the door, they found the woman sitting in a chair repeatedly stabbing her young, disabled daughter. Police ordered her to stop, but she refused and police opened fire.
Police have not said if the 4-year-old girl was struck by a bullet, but did report between 10 to 16 shots were fired. Both the woman and her daughter died at the scene, while the boy who was tossed out a window only suffered minor injuries.
No word on a motive, but a neighbor told reporters the woman had issues and was going through some hard times, unable to afford electricity, rent or even food.…

Readsboro, VT - Investigators say Timothy Bolognani, 49, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound moments after discovering that he had accidentally shot and killed his friend and hunting partner, Benjamin Birch, 39.
Bolognani, Birch, and a third friend, Mark Colford, had been hunting Saturday when the incident occurred. Police investigators said that the three men were tracking a deer Birch had shot. While separated, Bolognani fired his rifle reportedly causing Birch to cry out.
State police investigators said that Bolognani and Colford found Birch lying on the ground where he died. Investigators added that Bolognani then used his rifle to immediately take his own life.
“These guys were best friends and professional hunters,” Birch’s mother told news reporters.
The deceased hunters were taken to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy. According to police, no foul play is suspected.
I can certainly imagine the grief that he felt… but people need to count to ten or breathe or something. Suicide-on-impulse is just a really bad idea.…

LAS VEGAS, NV – Speaking of hate crimes, Las Vegas police are still looking for a man who shot a couple in an incident they feel was racially motivated. Keep reading, coyotes are involved.
Three weeks ago, a Hispanic couple were on the beach of Lake Mohave using metal detectors when a man walked up to them with a gun, yelled an obscenity, and then began firing. Rosa Castrejon, 42, died immediately but her boyfriend, Leopoldo Cardenas, was struck in the back and paralyzed.
If an asshole turning you into a paraplegic for no reason weren’t bad enough, poor Cardenas’ ordeal wasn’t over yet. His screams for help went unanswered and he had to spend the night on the beach while a pack of friggin’ coyotes circled around him and Castrejon. Luckily he was able to keep them at bay until he was rescued the following morning.
Police initially thought they would apprehend the shooter fairly quickly as they had a pretty good description of him and his vehicle, but much to everyone’s disappointment, the shooter has not been identified and remains at large.…
