Woman Accused Of Assaulting Her Great-Grandmother

February 19, 2011 at 2:50 am by

Woman Accused Of Assaulting Her Great GrandmotherYorktown, NY — I’ve shared stories in the past of people beating their parents and grandparents, but lo and behold some people go even further up the family tree. Let’s take 26-year-old Lisa Slater, for example.

During a domestic dispute with her 81-year-old great-grandmother, Slater reportedly grabbed the elderly woman by the hair and slapped her across the face. Then, in an attempt to prevent her from calling the police, she pulled the phone off the wall and took the victim’s cell phone away. (I know, I am just as surprised as you are that an 81-year-old has a cell phone.)

Lisa Slater was arrested on Feb. 16 and transported to police headquarters. Slater is charged with second-degree attempted assault, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.  She was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.…

Police: Woman Held As Sex Slave After Responding To Craigslist AdBrooklyn, New York — A 27-year-old Wisconsin woman told police she answered an apartment ad she saw on Craigslist and wound up being held captive as a sex slave in Brooklyn for more than a week.

According to police, 45-year-old John Hopkins told the woman that if she cooked and cleaned for him, she could stay in his East Williamsburg apartment for free. He even offered to buy her a one-way plane ticket from Wisconsin to JFK Airport. It was a done deal.

This too-good-to-be-true offer ended up coming with a much higher price tag once she actually arrived at the apartment on February 4. It was then that Hopkins reportedly informed the woman that she was going to be his slave. The victim told law enforcement officials that Hopkins blindfolded her, gagged her and handcuffed her to the radiator before beating and repeatedly raping her.

Police say Hopkins forced the woman to call him “master” and let her leave only to go to work. She apparently had a job as a chef at a restaurant, and was allowed to leave the residence on at least one occasion, but returned.…

Maksim Gelman Captured After 24 Hour Murder Spree

February 12, 2011 at 2:58 pm by

Maksim Gelman Captured After 24 Hour Murder SpreeBROOKLYN, NY – Police finally caught 23-year-old Maksim Gelman, the Brooklyn man who went on a killing spree that started Friday morning.

Police say that Gelman arguing with his stepfather, 54-year-old Aleksandr Kuznetsov, over the use of his car, Gelman stabbed the man to death. Gelman then took his stepfather’s car and struck a 41-year-old crossing guard as he fled the scene. The man he struck survived, suffering a broken leg.

Gelman would remain hidden until later that afternoon when he went to the apartment where his ex-girlfriend and her mother lived. Gelman stabbed 56-year-old Anna Bulchenko more than a dozen times before chasing her daughter, 20-year-old Yelena Bulchenko, outside the building and proceeded to stab her more than a dozen times as well.

By time police arrived at the scene both women were dead and Gelman had fled after stabbing 60-year-old Art DiCrescento and stealing his car. DiCrescento was taken to the hospital in critical condition after walking a block in the snow and screaming for help.

A mile away, Gelman struck 60-year-old Steve Tannenbaum with DiCrescento’s car.…

Little League Coach Charged With Molesting Boys On His Team New York. — A little league coach in Queens is being charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual acts and endangering the welfare of a child after allegations of sexual assault have come to light.

David Hartshorn, 52, has been arrested after it was discovered that he was sexually assaulting three teenage boys from his little league team.

The victims range in age from thirteen to sixteen. The abuse allegedly took place inside of Hartshorn’s home from July 2009 until sometime in January of this year.

Hartshorn is going to have a difficult time trying to deny the charges. When police were executing a search warrant on Tuesday, they discovered videotapes with some pretty incriminating evidence on them… it turns out this person who parents trusted their children with was actually videotaping the attacks on the boys.

But wait, there’s more! This isn’t Hartshorn’s first offense. It turns out he has a criminal record for a similar offense. In 1989 he was convicted on charges of sodomy and promoting sexual performance with a child under 16-years-old.…

Nun Admits Making Up Rape Story To Cover Up Affair In Convent Brooklyn, NY – The Brooklyn nun who claimed she had been raped by a rather large black man is now admitting she made the entire thing up to hide a consensual sexual relationship she was having with a shop worker inside the convent.

Mary Turcotte’s original story was that on the night of  Jan. 22, she was on her way to the Apostles of Infinite Love convent when she was accosted by a 250-pound, 6-foot-4 black man who choked her unconscious. She says when she woke up she was laying in a snow bank eight blocks away with her breasts exposed and her underwear down at her ankles (hot).

Police put out an alert for this black man described by Turcotte even though they were already growing suspicious over the fact that no one witnessed an unconscious nun being dragged eight blocks by a big black man.

The search was called off after the 26-year-old finally fessed up and admitted she made the entire thing up in an attempt to cover up an ongoing tryst she had been having with a bodega worker she’d been sneaking in the back door of the convent.…

Henrietta, NY — Kevin Minemier and his girlfriend were standing in the frozen food aisle of Wegmans Food Markets early Wednesday morning, when Kevin suddenly and inexplicably pulled a 6″ serrated knife out of his coat sleeve and viciously attacked – repeatedly stabbing the girl in the eyes, face and shoulder.

Police say 18-year-old Minemier and 17-year-old Nicole Bean had been in a relationship for just a few weeks. And now he’s facing charges of assault and attempted murder, and she’s facing a long and complicated recovery.

Witnesses to the brutal attack said it looked like something out of a horror movie. Mustafa Said and Chris Patino, both 16, rushed to help Bean after hearing her scream for help. Patino punched Minemier in the head and held him down while Said grabbed the knife. Said was stabbed in the hand several times during the struggle.

When police reviewed the surveillance video, Minemier and Bean were seen embracing just moments before the attack. At this point, there is no reason, no motive behind the bizarre stabbing, but it appears as if Minemier planned it.…

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. -- A woman is in jail facing assault in the first degree charges after being accused of using her car to run over her cousin twice following an argument over a man.

Police say that after watching a Jets game at a bar, 20-year-old Melanie Spanopoulos and her 21-year-old cousin, Giselle Penagos, got into a physical fight while headed home when Penagos admitted she had “friend requested” a guy on Facebook who Spanopoulos was interested in. This led to Spanopoulos pulling her minivan over where the two ended up on the ground fighting.

Spanopoulos eventually got back behind the wheel and instructed her cousin to get back inside. When her cousin refused to do so, Spanopoulos displayed a level of psychotic rage on the level of Jaded finding someone drank her bottle of Wild Rasberry Boone’s Farm and drove her vehicle into Penagos, knocking her to the ground.

But Spanopolous wasn’t quite finished. Displaying a level of psychotic rage on the level of Jaded finding someone drank her bottle of Wild Rasberry Boone’s Farm and had eaten her bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, she threw the car in reverse and backed over Penagos.…

New York — The genius to the left is Hubert Blackman – he recently filed a lawsuit against Las Vegas Exclusive Personals, an escort service, claiming one of the dancers they provided ripped him off, leaving him traumatized and suffering from a crippling psychotic disorder.

Blackman apparently hired the stripper/hooker while vacationing in Vegas back in December. After shellin’ out $155 for a lap dance, he further padded her wallet with another $120 for an unspecified sex act…an act he says she solicited. According to him, she did not remain with him the entire hour for which she was paid, leaving after only thirty minutes. Blackman called the escort service the next morning and demanded a refund, explaining he was incapable of making an informed agreement with the stripper the night before because he was drunk. When they essentially laughed in his face, he called the cops.

Metro police listened to his story and gently reminded him that prostitution is illegal in Vegas and he could be arrested for such conduct. To rub a little salt in the wound, they recommended he contact the Better Business Bureau.…

LONG ISLAND – A mother and daughter have been arrested and charged with multiple felony animal-cruelty counts after police rescued more than a dozen tortured dogs and cats from their filthy home littered with trash and the remains of more than two dozen decomposing animals.

Faith Ross, 54, and her daughter, Francesca Maselli, 24, have each pleaded not guilty to three counts of animal cruelty. The charges were filed against the two after a neighbor complained about a smell coming from their home and police would arrive to find a house of horrors. Among the two feet of trash that hid the floors in every room of the home, 15 dehydrated animals were found covered in urine and feces along with the rotting corpses of dozens more.

Make me puke, New York Post:

There were six Chihuahuas, three dachshunds, an English bulldog, a Yorkshire terrier, a Shih Tzu, a boxer and two cats among the survivors. Another pooch, a collie mix, was taken directly to an animal hospital for emergency care.

Schenectady, NY — 35-year-old Jose Dones, a Level III sex offender, is facing numerous charges, including child endangerment and unlawfully dealing with a child, after police learned he’s responsible for inking several juveniles in the neighborhood in the past year.

According to timesunion.com,

An investigation by the police department’s Youth Aid Bureau discovered that several adolescents were tattooed by Dones. Police asked that any parents whose children may have been tattooed by Dones call the Youth Aid Bureau at 518-382-5256 to file a complaint.

Though I have not been able to unearth all the ugly details of how he obtained his status, Dones apparently served a 6 month prison term in 2008 after being convicted on charges of forcible touching. The victim in that case was a 16 year old girl.

Dones was arrested at his girlfriend’s home on January 8th for failing to register as a sex offender, again. As for the tattooing of juveniles, authorities are uncertain at this time as to whether any of Dones’ minor clients have actually been subjected to any sort of sexul assault.…

Woman Staples Man’s Forehead In Domestic Dispute

January 12, 2011 at 7:29 am by

Jamestown, NY — The crazy to the left is Jodi Gilbert – she’s been accused of stapling her boyfriend’s forehead during a domestic altercation. The man, still sportin’ a few staples in his forehead when the cops arrived, told police that he and Gilbert had been in the middle of an argument when she armed herself with the Stanley Hammer Tacker and got busy, making contact with his forehead several times. Domestic violence, whether it be man against woman or vice versa, is not a laughing matter. But damn! I gotta admit to chuckling a bit when I let that scene play out in my head – the added sound effects are the awesome! Anyway, I’m assuming that this wasn’t the first time she let some of her crazy slip out because police say the man already had an order of protection in place against her. She was arrested on charges of aggravated criminal contempt and assault, and remains behind bars awaiting arraignment. The victim was treated at the hospital and released.…

NEW YORK, NY – A male model has admitted to killing Carlos Antonio De Castro, 65, a Portuguese gossip columnist, inside a New York hotel over the weekend. The grisly remains of Castro were discovered on Saturday inside his hotel room he had been sharing with 21-year-old male model, Renato Seabra. Castro had been brutally bludgeoned and castrated. Seabra was taken into custody after seeking treatment for lacerations to both of his wrists. Seabra is still going through a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevuw Hospital where he has been charged with second-degree murder. He admitted to killing Castro, telling investigators that he tortured Castro for more than an hour and used a computer monitor to knock him unconscious before gouging out one of Castro’s eyes and castrating him using a wine corkscrew.  Seabra told friends back home that he was not gay, but friends of the pair say Seabra and Castro had been dating for several months. “He told people back home, before the trip, that he wasn’t gay,” a police source told the New York Daily News.…

NEW YORK, NY — If you are responsible for leaving the large, black suitcase on 114th Street in East Harlem, the one that had the dead woman stuffed inside it, police would like to have a word with you. Sometime after 12:15 a.m. this morning, a passerby noticed a sealed suitcase on the sidewalk a half block from Rao’s Restaurant. The person called 911 after they opened it to see if it contained anything valuable, and found a woman’s leg sticking out of it. They have not released the identity of the woman aside from saying she is a black female in her 20s or 30s. She was clothed and showed signs of head trauma. Detectives are investigating the possibility the woman was dumped on the sidewalk from a car after being killed at another location. As of right now the case has not been classified as a homicide, police waiting on the official cause of death from the medical examiner.

There was an update. The victim was 28-year-old Betty Williams and she died from neck compression.…

NEW YORK – Not sure if any of you are familiar with Heidi Jones, but she was a weather anchor for WABC/Channel 7 and occasional forecaster on Good Morning America. I say “was” because she has been suspended after she was arrested for allegedly lying about being sexually assaulted. I wasn’t aware she had made the claim at all, but she claimed a Hispanic man tried to rape her while she was jogging in Central Park on Sept. 24. Jones, 37, claimed the man grabbed her from behind, dragged her into a wooded area and attempted to rape her but was scared off by two passers-by who came to her aid. She added that the attacker later harassed her over the phone. But after police began investigating her story, they found it had more holes in it than the underwear I’m currently stewing in. They went back to talk to Jones who eventually admitted to making the entire thing up. The New York Post has a source saying this was done in a plea for sympathy because of some issues going on in her personal life.…

GILGO BEACH, NY  — Looks like police may have stumbled upon a body dump along an isolated strip of Oak Beach after discovering four bodies there in three days. Nassau County police were in the area on Saturday using a K-9 unit to search for Shonnan Gilbert, 24, who disappeared in May. Gilbert reportedly worked as a prostitute and was last seen after arranging a meeting with a client via Craigslist at nearby Fire Island. While conducting their search, police found the first body, reportedly a female. They came back on Monday and found the second body and then found two more several hours later. The bodies were in various states of decay, two of them reportedly wrapped in burlap sacks. Police were back in the area this morning, but there have been no reports of any other bodies found. The medical examiner is working to identify the remains. Homicide Squad detectives ask anyone with information to contact them at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. Lyons, NY — The constipated looking douchebag you see to the left is 30-year-old Aaron Iacono – his ugly mug is staring back at you today because police say he injured his 10-month-old daughter by holding her head and face under a running bathtub faucet on at least two separate occasions. Police allege that on November 30, Iacono held the baby girl’s head and face under a stream of cold water in the bathtub for approximately five minutes, causing her stomach to fill with water. He repeated the act in the bathroom sink three times, hitting her head on the faucet in the process. He then reportedly threw the child to the ground. When his wife tried to intervene, Iacono is said to have choked the woman for a bit before demanding oral sex. In another incident, he is accused of slamming the baby’s head against a shower head – he told police he was trying to teach the kid to stop crying. The little girl was treated for multiple contusions and a leg fracture and released from the hospital.…

LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK – I was reading about this over the weekend, but the site decided to crap its pants before I had a chance to post anything about it. The body of  Jenni-Lyn Watson was found Saturday and a few hours later her ex-boyfriend was arrested and charged with her murder. For those of you not in the know, Watson went missing from her parent’s home earlier this month and searchers were looking around a wooded area off Waterhouse Road, the last location her cell phone was used, last Tuesday. On Saturday, her remains were found in Clay Central Park covered in vegetation in an attempt to conceal the body. A few hours later her ex-boyfriend, Steven Pieper, was taken into custody and charged with her death. We now know he was a prime suspect all along — not just because he was a creepy, jealous kind of boyfriend who Watson had just broken up with in October — but also the fact that he left his cell phone in her home the morning she went missing.…

LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK — Emergency crews and law enforcement agencies are conducting a large-scale search within a wooded area off Waterhouse Road, trying to locate a 20-year-old college student who has been missing since Friday, Nov. 19. Jenni-Lyn Watson had returned home from Mercyhurst College for Thanksgiving break. Watson’s cell phone, a Verizon LG enV3, has been turned on “intermittently” since her disappearance and the wooded area searches are focused on is where they say her cell phone, which is no longer on, was last used. According to Devin Ruic, a friend and classmate of Watson’s, she had been having problems with a man stalking her. Police say they have no suspects or people of interest, but did confirmed people are being interviewed. Some people posting on some of the news articles mention a failed abduction that occurred a week before Watson went missing. A woman fought off a man who tried to abduct her as she was walking to her car in the parking lot of a North Syracuse apartment complex.…

Brooklyn – Police say 31-year-old Michael L. Brea held his mother hostage and then hacked her to death with a samurai sword while screaming Bible passages. Neighbors reported hearing yelling and screaming coming from the 2nd floor apartment Brea shares with his mother, 55-year-old Yannick Brea, at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. ”I hear the brother chasing her through the house and he’s just saying a bunch of like Bible passages like, ‘Repent, Repent, Repent,’” said one neighbor. “I heard him chasing her through the house and I hear a loud scream and so I have my father call the cops, call 911.” When police arrived they found a very combative Brea who they had to subdue with a Taser. Once inside the bloody apartment, they found his mother in another room. She had been hacked, stabbed and decapitated. Brea, who people say has never showed any signs of mental illness before, was transported to Kings County Hospital where he is under police guard. Brea is a Subway restaurant owner and an aspiring actor who starred in an episode of UGLY BETTY as well as a dancer in STEP UP 3D.…

CLARENCE, N.Y. — Police were able to make a couple drug-related arrests after an absolute moron called Crime Stoppers looking for some drugs. Rozansky said, “I couldn’t believe that he really was doing this and then he said. “Are you sure this is Eduardo,” or whatever, and I go, “Yea, I got a new phone, it’s hard.” And he says, “Okay, good, good,” and I actually was stunned he’d actually follow through and meet us, but he did.” The idiot was met by undercover officers who did not arrest the man who turned out to not only be lacking in intelligence, but a snitch as well. Officers used him as an informant to lead them to a a parking lot down the road where they found 35-year-old Tracy Tarsey trying to sell her own prescription of Suboxone to 27-year-old Hank Salisbury.…
