NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Two teenage boys have been charged in connection to the murder of 5-year-old Isabella Tennant.
The girl was spending the night at her great-grandmother’s house when 16-year-old John Freeman allegedly killed Bella with his bare hands. Her official cause of death was listed as mechanical obstruction of the airway and compression of the neck. There were no signs of sexual assault.
After he killed Bella, he placed her body in a garbage bag and had one of his friends, 18-year-old Tyler Best, help place the little girl’s body in a garbage can three streets away. Best ended up going to police the next day and showing police where Bella’s body had been stashed.
Freeman was arrested and charged second-degree murder while Best was charged with tampering with evidence. Both have pleaded not guilty when they appeared in court on Tuesday and ordered back to jail until their Sept. 7 court date.
Bella’s mother, Crystal Walker, told reporters that she was working late that night at a sports bar, and that Freeman often took advantage of her grandmother’s kind heart.…

Rye Brook, NY — A woman in New York has been accused of breaking into the home of a woman she claims her husband has been having an affair with and then sexually assaulting the alleged mistress in front of the victim’s young child.
Police say 40-year-old Giovana Osorio arrived at the vicim’s home at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday and tried to break in through a kitchen window. Being too short to climb through, she opted to use a key she had for the front door. Her husband did contract worked on the home and Osorio copied the key he used to get inside. But according to Osorio, her husband wasn’t just working inside the home. He was also having an affair with the woman who lived inside it.
That’s why police say she was breaking into the home that night. She was hoping to catch her husband in the act. What Osorio didn’t know was that her husband really was working late that night, and wasn’t at the home. The only two people Osorio encountered when she busted into an upstairs bedroom were the victim, and the victim’s 4-year-old child, in bed sleeping.…

Carmel, NY – Yesterday afternoon, a 6-year-old girl was found floating in a New York lake while clinging to the dead body of a 59-year-old woman.
Three people in a rowboat were on Lake Gleneida fishing when they spotted the girl floating in the water while clinging to what they thought was a large plastic bag. As they got closer, they realized the girl was clinging to the corpse of a woman. The girl was brought to shore and authorities rushed to the scene.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to the hospital where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The girl was taken to the hospital as well, but was said to be uninjured. Physically, at least.
The dead woman was later identified as Pamela Kaner, a friend of the girl’s mother. She had been watching the girl while the girl’s mother took a car to the mechanic. Kaner and the girl had been wading in the shallow waters of the lake before something happened that lead to the girl clinging to Kaner’s dead body several hundred feet from the shoreline.…

Buffalo, NY — A grandmother was shot to death by police after she stabbed her young grandson to death outside her home.
A scene of unimaginable horror is what two Buffalo police officers encountered when they were flagged down and brought to the front porch of a home. There they found 22-year-old Tiffany Fears performing CPR on her 4-year-old son, Roderick Geiger III, who was bleeding to death after having been stabbed in the stomach and chest by his grandmother.
While the officers began working on the boy they were charged by the child’s 38-year-old-grandmother, Charlene Fears, who was armed with two large knives. She ignored repeated demands to drop the knives and, fearing for their safety, was subsequently shot and killed by one of the officers.
Roderick was rushed to Women and Children’s Hospital, but later died. Charlene’s two other children, who were in the home at the time of the stabbing, were not harmed. The officer who shot Charlene, a 25-year veteran, is not being named and the case is being investigated by the homicide squad and internal affairs.…

Troy, NY – Police arrested 17-year-old Trinity Copeland for fatally shooting her father in the head with a rifle after the two argued over the unauthorized use of a credit card. In a statement to police, Copeland claims her father told her to do it.
Trinity’s father, 47-year-old Harland Copeland, had been drinking when he approached his daughter over some unauthorized debit card charges. Her father complained to the police about the charges, stating he knew where they were made but not who made them. He told Trinity police were going to look at the surveillance tapes from that day.
Knowing that they would see it was her that took the ATM card, Trinity confessed to the $154 in purchases. The reaction she received was a little more then she was bargaining for. She says her father told her that she could kill him or he’d kill her then himself.
“I was telling him I was sorry. I told him that I wanted to tell him before he saw it on video,” she said in the statement.…

LAKE GEORGE, NY – Police in New York have charged an 11-year-old girl with the beating death of her foster mother’s 13-week-old puppy after the girl got angry with the woman when she would not give her a ride.
The incident happened on Sunday, not long after the girl was placed in the home for an overnight stay, after the girl’s foster mother refused to give the girl a ride somewhere.
In response to being denied, the girl reportedly beat the woman’s 13-week-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to death by repeatedly slamming it against the floor and a bed post.
The girl was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal mischief. She can either be prosecuted, or placed in some kind of diversion program. So far, the Warren County Family Court has not commented on the case.
Of course, as most everyone who reads this site is aware, an 11-year-old killing a puppy in such a fashion and for the reasons given, is a definite indicator that this girl has some major issues.…

Syracuse, NY — Aaron Hickman, 20, is facing charges of assault and child endangerment, after reportedly admitting to pouring bleach in his nephews’ milk after an argument with the boys’ parents.
Hickman, an apparent mooch, told police he and his brother had argued about Hickman’s lack of financial contributions to the household in the month and a half he had been staying there.
In his statement to police, Hickman claimed his brother and the mother of the two boys called him names and accused him of being “slow and stupid.”
Hickman apparently decided he had had enough of their bad-mouthin’ and decided to move out. Before he did, though, he went and proved ‘em right….
“There was a bleach bottle in the kitchen,” Hickman told police. “I took the bleach and I poured it into a milk container that was in the refrigerator.”
In addition to fouling the milk, Hickman also admitted to pouring bleach into a bottle of mouthwash in the couple’s bathroom.
After drinking the spiked milk on Thursday, the boys, ages 1 and 3, became violently ill with severe vomiting and diarrhea.…

BROOKLYN, NY — A young boy in Brooklyn died a horrible death on Sunday after he got rolled up into the security gate of an apartment complex.
The boy, 12-year-old Yakim McDaniels, was with two friends playing a game with the gate when the incident occurred. The object of the game is to jump on the gate as it rises and be the last one to jump off.
McDaniels won when he was unable to free his hand and was pulled up into the upper portion of the gate and crushed to death.
“He was screaming and screaming and he got caught up on the top of the gate. From his head to the back of his shoulders went under,” said a witness. “He was like rolled up at the top and he was shaking, like convulsing. He did that for five or 10 minutes and just stopped,” said another.
For 20 minutes McDaniels hung there like a macabre banner until firefighters were able to turn off the gate and attempt to extract McDaniels from the machine.…

WATERTOWN, NY – On the evening of April 19, 21-year-old Jessica Baughman allegedly escalated an argument with her grandmother by removing 12 of her grandmother’s pet goldfish from their tank and sautéing them until they died. She also broke the elderly woman’s wooden wolf statue which was valued at all of twenty dollars.
Apparently, after the fish fry, there was an extended lull in the fighting because it wasn’t until about 12:30 a.m. when the police were called. It seems that the argument had resumed and grandma, 63-year-old Vera Nichols, claims that Baughman had become enraged again, pushing her until she fell onto a bed.
Baughman was arrested on charges of felony cruelty to animals, fourth degree criminal mischief and second degree harassment. Baughman was detained at the Metro-Jefferson Public safety Building and her bond was set at $2000

Tyre, NY — An upstate New York car passenger was inexplicably arrested after providing a complementary cup of coffee to a passenger in the vehicle of a passing motorist.
Road rage or another example of New York courtesy? You decide…
State police said that Danielle Barker, 32, was a passenger in a vehicle driving on the New York State Thruway Saturday night. A car behind the one that Barker was traveling in was reportedly trying to pass.
A New York State trooper commenting on the incident reported that the driver of Barker’s car would not change lanes and let the trailing car through.
When the car was eventually able to pass, police say Barker, 32, ‘hurled’ a cup of coffee through an open window of the passing car. Apparently unable to catch a simple cup of coffee, the coffee instead landed on a passenger in the vehicle.
Police pulled over the car Barker was traveling in and charged her with criminal mischief and harassment. The driver of the other car was ticketed for following too closely.…

New York, NY — Police are still looking for this charmer suspected of groping an 11-year-old girl inside a Gramercy Dunkin’ Donuts on March 7.
At about 11:30 a.m. on that day, police say the man allegedly approached the girl, touched her inappropriately and then immediately left the scene.
The suspect is described as being between 50 and 60 years old with short gray hair and weighing “as much as 400 pounds.”
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly is asking for the public’s help in catching the suspect. A very brief surveillance video of this freight train leaving the station can be seen here.
“He was in a store and he approached this young woman and grabbed her and touched her inappropriately,” Kelly said last week. Kelly added that the girl “didn’t suffer any injuries in the incident.” Well… not physically, perhaps…

Troy, NY - Police say that Thomas McMartin, 56, made their job a bit easier after he photographed himself while installing a hidden camera in a women’s locker room at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
On March 8, a woman reportedly noticed something strange on the ceiling of the RPI women’s swim team locker room. She contacted RPI authorities. According to court documents, Troy police detectives investigating the case found the hidden camera to contain – before a collection of photos of victims – a photograph of McMartin placing the camera in its hidden location.
“The camera took a picture of the defendant in the process of mounting the camera,” said Captain John Cooney of the Troy Police Department.
As McMartin worked at RPI in maintenance, he wasn’t hard to find. RPI said that McMartin’s duties would not have placed him in the locker room for any reason. RPI has since fired McMartin.
Police said that it was unclear how long the camera had been set up. Cooney said that police are in the process of notifying the “umpteen” women that are on the recordings.…

Brooklyn, NY - On Nov. 13, 2002, a 12-year-old girl was taken by a man into a ‘filthy’ elevator room on the rooftop of her tenement and raped. Then, when the man was done, he raped her again.
“[The man] raped a 12-year-old stranger, then completely dressed her, leading her to believe — however fleetingly — that her nightmare [was] over. He then undressed her and raped her a second time,” Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Dineen Riviezzo said.
With no suspect in the crime, life went on. The victim described that the attack made her afraid of men and changed her from a sweet young girl into an aggressive and reclusive teen. “I had nightmares day in and day out, year after year,” she added.
Then, six years later, a man named Adam Wright, now 44, would be arrested for an open alcohol container violation. A DNA test conducted at the time of that arrest matched him to the young girl’s rape. Wright was charged and put on trial.
During the trial, Wright acted as his own lawyer.…

Rye, NY — A building superintendent previously employed at the Rye Colony apartment complex is presumably hanging his head in shame after a suspicious tenant learned the super had been entering his apartment and buggerin’ his male Labrador Retriever.
The unidentified tenant told investigators he suspected someone had been illegally entering his apartment while he was gone, so he set up a nannycam. On February 8, said cam captured 41-year-old Kujtim Nicaj entering the apartment with his key. Once inside, police say, Nicaj proceeded to sodomize the critter.
After learning of the arrest, property manager Mike May promptly sh*tcanned Nicaj, who had worked at the complex for six years. May also took away all the keys Nicaj had to residents’ apartments.
Nicaj, a married father of two, was arrested on charges of burglary and sexual misconduct. He has since been released on $100,000 bail.
Nicaj’s lawyer, Steven Davidson, said that his client denies molesting the dog. And though he is aware of the videotape, he claims the neither he nor his client have been given the opportunity to view it.…

Kirkland, NY — Jonathan R. Obernesser, 39, was arrested after the physical attention he gave to a late night teenaged visitor to his home – facilitated through Craigslist – was poorly received.
Police say that Obernesser placed a personal advertisement on Craigslist which was responded to by a 19-year-old woman. This led to her going to Obernesser’s residence. While there, the woman told police that, after Obernesser gave her an alcoholic beverage, he began inappropriately touching her. She told police that she repeatedly told him to stop. She was then able to call a friend who reported the incident to police.
Jonathan R. Obernesser, 39, was charged with forcible touching, a misdemeanor, and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to a person under the age of 21, a violation under the state alcoholic beverage control law, police said. Obernesser was remanded to county jail on $1,000 cash bond.
The ‘prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage’ charge suggests to me that there may have been something more going on here. Regardless, this incident is a good basis for a much needed warning:
If you choose to make contact through Craigslist with an unknown individual who could, quite possibly, be a murderer, rapist, or sadistic torturer; to go to their home unarmed, alone, and late at night; and then choose to drink alcohol with them… please be sure to be cautious and rely on your good judgement.…

Brooklyn, NY - A teacher’s aid has been arrested after he allegedly videotaped himself spanking a child and fondling another – in a public school classroom.
FBI agents arrested 40-year-old Taleek Brooks after a computer and two external hard drives seized from his home were found to contain child porn. Brooks became the target of a child porn sting after he traded some child porn images with an undercover police officer online. But turns out Brooks was doing more than just trading child porn, the sicko was also creating it.
Two of the videos retrieved were taken in a classroom at Weeksville School where Brooks has worked since 1995. According to the complaint, one was of Brooks fondling a child’s genitals and another was of him spanking a naked child. Investigators believe the videos were shot sometime between January 2008 and January 2011.
The complaint also states that Brooks “admitted that he had been downloading and sharing child pornography for approximately seven years.” He also “indicated that he had collected and saved over 1,000 digital files on his computer containing child pornography.”
The Department of Education released a letter telling Weeksville School parents to call a confidential FBI hotline, 212-384-2700, if they have any information relevant to the investigation or believe that one of their children may have been victimized by Brooks.…

New York, NY - Susanna Barrett, pageant mother of 5-year-old “Toddlers & Tiaras” star Isabella Barrett, has filed a $30 million libel suit against three media outlets in which she claims that their reporting tried to ‘sexualize’ her youngster’s performance in an online video.
In response to the kindergartner’s ‘innocent’ rendition of the LMFAO song “I’m Sexy and I Know It,” Barrett claims that TMZ.com, The Huffington Post and London’s Daily Mail all “brazenly attempt to sexualize” the girl by “claiming she was gyrating in a nightclub and singing about her sex appeal.”
While the child was singing the song in a nightclub, and the song is a first person account of the singer being sexy, Barrett points out that her daughter does not, in fact, understand “sexiness.” Consequently, the media’s portrayal of her daughter’s performance as ‘sexy’ is, well, just crazy talk!
Not only that… the lawsuit points out that the youngster could not have been gyrating because “she was sitting down.” Well, duh, clueless media outlets!

BROOKLYN, NY – That crazy idiot who went on a two day stabbing spree last year that left four dead and four wounded has been sentenced to 200 years in prison.
Last February, 24-year-old Maksim Gelman stabbed his stepfather to death after arguing over the use of his mother’s car. Afterwards, he took the car and drove to the home of a woman he’d been stalking, injuring a crossing guard along the way.
The woman, 20-year-old Yelena Bulchenko, wasn’t home when he arrived so Gelman stabbed her mother to death instead. He then waited 9 hours for Bulchenko to arrive home and then stabbed her to death as well. But he was far from over.
After Gelman left the home he rear-ended a car and stabbed the driver before stealing the wounded man’s vehicle. As he drove off he hit 62-year-old Stephen Tanenbaum, killing him. Later he would attack a cab driver, damaging the man’s voice box, and then attack another driver, stealing his car.
He wasn’t spotted again until some passengers on a subway train recognized him and called police.…
Teen Kills Herself By Stepping In Front Of Bus, Family Blames Bullying

Staten Island, NY – I’m sure a lot of you have read about 15-year-old Amanda Cummings by now. For those of you who haven’t, two days after Christmas, she purposely stepped in front of a city bus while carrying a four page suicide note.
She would later die at the hospital from blunt force trauma and skull fractures and her family is blaming bullying for her death. The family claims she was bullied throughout school, even in the days before her decision to end her life. Her uncle has stated he wants justice and will push this as far as he can, in an effort to ensure those who pushed her over the edge are held accountable.
“I’m not going to tolerate this,” he said. “I’m gonna go full force. Kids can’t do this to each other.”
Her mother echoed the same sentiments stating, “This entire tragedy is far, far from over,” she wrote. “I am no where done with this.”
