Laketha Moore Accused Of Starving, Beating Her 4-Year-Old Daughter, Leaving Her Tied To Bed

LAS VEGAS, NV — Police have charged 36-year-old Laketha Moore with 31 counts of child abuse after her 4-year-old daughter was discovered tied to a bed, beaten and starved.
Had it not been for a Loma Vista Apartments maintenance worker, there’s no telling how long this little girl would have continued to suffer. He was performing a routine maintenance check inside Moore’s apartment on Monday and found a belt connecting the bathroom and bedroom doors.
When the worker went inside a bedroom, he found Moore’s starving 4-year-old daughter tied to a bed and surrounded by filth. She had multiple injuries, including a black eye, cuts on her nose, cheek, a bruised rib cage, back, ankles and matted hair. The girl said she was hungry because “Mommy ties me up all the time.”
When police located Moore she confessed to police that she abandoned her daughter regularly to go to work or church.
“Laketha Moore was allegedly leaving her daughter tied to a bed in her bedroom, and locked in there for hours, 10 to 12 hours a day, five to seven days a week,” North Las Vegas spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said.…

Las Vegas, NV — Police in Las vegas have arrested 23-year-old Kara Vandereyk after they say she was caught having sex with a pit bull in the yard of her home.
Police say that on Tuesday, they observed Vandereyk engaging in a sex act with a pit bull in the backyard of her home, within full view of her neighbors and anyone passing by. According to the arrest report, when Vandereyk noticed the approaching officers, she said, “Hi,” and began fondling the dog.
The report also said Vandereyk appeared to be on drugs or mentally ill. She told the officers that she has bipolar disorder and didn’t know her name, the year or the name of the president. She also admitted to taking prescription medication but wasn’t sure if she was on them at the time.
After police gave her a blanket to cover up with, as she was completely nude, a neighbor gave her some clothing to wear. Kara Vandereyk was charged with open and gross lewdness, as I’m pretty sure Nevada doesn’t have any laws against having sex with your dog, and taken to the Clark County jail.…

LAS VEGAS, NV – A man has been charged with attempted murder after he set fire to a man who was harassing him at a Las Vegas gas station.
According to police, Theodore Bejarano was inside Cricle K store drinking on Oct 10. The clerk told him he was not allowed to loiter inside the store and asked him to leave. At around the same time, 61-year-old Patrick Newell had arrived at the store to get gas. After paying, he left the store only to encounter a drunken Bejarano leaning against his truck. Bejarano asked for a ride, but Newell refused, telling him he was driving a business vehicle.
Bejarano allegedly didn’t like that answer and kept bugging Newell to the point that Newell threatened to cut Bejarano with a pocketknife if he didn’t leave him alone. But instead of cutting the man, Newell went back inside the store and told the clerk that he was being harassed at the pumps and to call police. When he returned to his truck, Bejarano continued harassing him.…

Las Vegas, NV – Police in Nevada are looking for a man accused of biting off the lip of his pregnant girlfriend — something he was arrested for doing to his wife a few years ago. Note for the squeamish, the two links below are of the two women’s injuries.
Back in 2008, 27-year-old Roberto Flores was arrested after he bit the lip off his then wife, Perla Padilla. She was in the hospital when she told police Flores he “bit off her entire lower lip, exposing her teeth and gums.”
Flores was found guilty of battery with substantial bodily harm and sentenced to a maximum of 5 years in prison. He was out in seven months. In January of this year he struck again, biting off the lip of his pregnant girlfriend.
Victoria Silva says Flores was a lot like me when they first met. ”Very funny, charming, nice looking, very nice personality,” she said in an interview while wearing a face mask to hide her disfiguring injury.

Henderson, NV – A 1-year-old boy died on Saturday after being attacked by the family dog while celebrating his first birthday with family.
The unidentified boy was at his grandmother’s house with family when he crawled over to the family’s six-year old, 120-pound Mastiff/Rhodesian mix to pet it. According to the family, they have raised the dog since he was a puppy and he had never shown aggression towards anyone before.
But on this occasion the dog attacked the boy, latching his mouth around the little boy’s head and then shaking him like a chew toy. The boy’s grandmother immediately tried to pull the boy out of the dog’s mouth to no avail.
The boy’s father was upstairs when the attack occurred but was able to get the dog to let go within 20 seconds of the attack. But the damage to the boy was devastating. “The baby’s face was torn off,” he said. The boy was rushed to the hospital but would die a few hours later.
Animal control officers took the dog to an animal shelter where he will be quarantined for ten days.…

Las Vegas, NV — A woman accused of stabbing her 6-year-old daughter to death with a pair of scissors reportedly told police she did so because she felt an “evil presence” in her home and believed her child may have been possessed by a demon.
After being found naked on the streets of Las Vegas, covered in blood from what she claimed was “the Lamb of God,” 27-year-old Danielle Slaughter apparently expressed disbelief that she had disposed of her child in such a way.
“Did I kill my daughter? Is she dead?” Slaughter questioned police, later claiming that “wasn’t like her.”
Slaughter, who apparently began taking the dietary supplement Hydroxycut about four days prior to the murder, reportedly told police she had felt an evil presence in the home and claimed ”she never felt this way before,” she just wanted to remove the evil from the house.
Slaughter claims 6-year-old Kyla Franks began speaking and laughing in an evil voice Sunday evening. When Kyla began kicking and clawing at her, Slaughter said, she grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed the girl multiple times.…

Las Vegas, NV - Grief counselors were at a Las Vegas elementary school last Wednesday after one of their schoolmates was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Last Tuesday afternoon, police responded to a home on a call of a boy who had been shot. Inside the home they would find 10-year-old Kameron Asgari dead from what police are now saying was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
There have been little in way of details regarding the shooting or the events that lead up to Asgari deciding to end his life. The only info I could find was that he was a fifth-grader at Helen Jydstrup Elementary School where friends say he was “smart, intelligent, and he had lots of friends.”
No word on bullying, disciplinary issues, or possible abuse at this point but the really odd thing about this story is that Asgari wasn’t the only kid in Vegas to shoot themselves that day.
Nine hours after Asgari killed himself, a 13-year-old girl tried to do the same thing but survived the shooting.…

LAS VEGAS, NV – Speaking of hate crimes, Las Vegas police are still looking for a man who shot a couple in an incident they feel was racially motivated. Keep reading, coyotes are involved.
Three weeks ago, a Hispanic couple were on the beach of Lake Mohave using metal detectors when a man walked up to them with a gun, yelled an obscenity, and then began firing. Rosa Castrejon, 42, died immediately but her boyfriend, Leopoldo Cardenas, was struck in the back and paralyzed.
If an asshole turning you into a paraplegic for no reason weren’t bad enough, poor Cardenas’ ordeal wasn’t over yet. His screams for help went unanswered and he had to spend the night on the beach while a pack of friggin’ coyotes circled around him and Castrejon. Luckily he was able to keep them at bay until he was rescued the following morning.
Police initially thought they would apprehend the shooter fairly quickly as they had a pretty good description of him and his vehicle, but much to everyone’s disappointment, the shooter has not been identified and remains at large.…

Las Vegas, NV –A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged in the brutal rape of a housekeeper who was cleaning rooms at Bally’s Hotel and Casino.
Authorities were first notified of the sexual assault on Nov 1 after an occupant walked into her hotel room and saw a naked man, later identified as David Randell Ferren, getting dressed while a woman bleeding from the face made her way towards the door.
After getting dressed Ferren soon followed, fleeing the scene through an emergency exit. The injured woman, a maid who had went to the room to clean it, said she was accosted by Ferren who first punched her in the face before raping her.
Using surveillance camera footage, police were able to provide a pretty good description of their suspect to the media and track Ferren’s movements after he left the hotel. You can see some of the video here and be amazed at Ferren’s ability to look like a jackass in the matter of a few seconds.
On Saturday, they had identified Ferren and arrested the 19-year-old, charging him with four counts of sexually assaulting a woman over the age of 65, battery with the intent to commit sexual assault, and burglary.…

Carson City, NV – Jorge Gomez-Dominguez, 37, was arrested last Thursday after 11-year-old twin girls reportedly confided to school officials that he had been molesting them for over a year. The arrest report said that a deputy was called out the girls’ school by school officials. The specific relationship between the girls and Gomez-Dominguez was not reported.
During the initial interview, one of the girls reportedly accused Gomez-Dominguez of touching her genitals and performing oral sex on her. The other girl accused Gomez-Dominguez of touching her as she slept.
The investigator then spoke with Gomez-Dominguez at his job, according to the arrest report. The arrest report goes on to say that Gomez-Dominguez confessed to having oral sex with the first girl on Oct. 19 and inappropriately touching that same girl approximately two months ago while ‘checking her for bugs.’

Gomez-Dominguez was booked into the Carson City Jail for investigation of felony sexual assault with a child under 14 and violation of a previous suspended sentence. He is being held on $25,000 bail.…

LAS VEGAS , NV – Police say 19-year-old Javier Righetti admitted to stalking 15-year-old Alyssa Otremba, raping her, then stabbing her over 40 times before setting her body on fire.
Otremba was last heard from on Friday evening while walking home from a friend’s house. She texted her mother, informing her she would be home in 30 minutes and that her phone was dying. When she did not return home, Otremba’s mother began searching the neighborhood for her before calling police.
The next day, Otremba’s charred body was found in a desert area near her home. Autopsy reports show she was stabbed more than 40 times in the face, neck, chest, stomach and thighs.
On Monday, police would get a call from 18-year-old Elizabeth Morales who told them she had some information regarding Otremba’s murder. She told police that on Friday night her boyfriend, 19-year-old Daniel Ortiz, received several phone calls from a very upset Righetti.
“Ortiz told Morales that Righetti wanted Ortiz to come help him,” police wrote in their report.…
PAHRUMP, NV – A man in Nevada is sitting in jail on murder charges and his daughter’s boyfriend learned a crappy lesson regarding good deeds and dating a chick whose family has some severe anger issues.
Police say 21-year-old Christopher Mundy was at the home of his girlfriend early Thursday morning, helping her move her belongings out. Mundy’s girlfriend had been arrested after getting into a fight with her sister and she had asked Mundy to go to her parent’s home and retrieve some of her belongings.
Before Mundy went to the home with his roommate’s 14-year-old brother early Thursday morning, he was supposedly threatened by his girlfriend’s mother several times on his Facebook profile. If anyone tracks those down, I’d love to know what was said.
Once there, his girlfriend’s parents told Mundy to get off their property. Mundy refused and chose to sit in his car parked in their driveway.
That’s when police say the girl’s father, 46-year-old Daniel Robbins, fired a round into the vehicle before he walked up to the car window, put a gun to Mundy’s head and shot him.…

Las Vegas, NV – A teenager in jail for smothering his young cousin to death has now been accused of stabbing his cell mate to death with a pencil.
Carl Guilford, 18, has been in the Clark County Detention Center since May, accused of smothering 6-year-old Christopher Montgomery with a comforter. His cell mate was 39-year-old Francesco Sanfilippo, in jail on 13 counts of possession of child pornography.
The other day, Sanfilippo was found dead inside their cell covered in a white sheet. The floors and walls were smeared with blood and Guilford was sitting on the top bunk with a blank stare. Sanfilippo had been stabbed several times with a pencil.
Guilford would first tell police that Sanfilip came on to him and grabbed his ass, leading to Guilford putting the older man in a choke hold. He says he doesn’t remember what happened after that. He would then change his story and claim that the Devil told him if he did not kill Sanfilippo, then the Devil would make Guilford kill himself.…

Reno, NV – A mother in Nevada has been charged with doing the unthinkable. Police say she placed her terminally ill baby in a trash bag alive, doused the bag with gasoline and then set it on fire.
Life had already handed Brandy the shit-end of the stick when she was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome two months ago. It can be a terminal disability and some of those unfortunate enough to be born with it rarely lead long lives, and about 35 percent of them don’t make it past the two year mark.
But no matter the life span, those afflicted with it live lives with a myriad of different of health issues to go along with their physical abnormalities that can include severe mental retardation, seizures and congenital heart defects. The best someone can do for children born with this genetic defect is to make what time they have here as painless and as comfortable as possible.

Las Vegas, NV — A special education teacher at West Prep Academy is facing child abuse charges after allegedly forcing a 13-year-old student to punch himself multiple times in the head.
Margaret Boyett, 41, has been teaching autistic students at the school since 2009, but her future employment at the school, or any school for that matter, isn’t looking so hot after being accused of abusing one of her students in February.
She has been accused of grabbing a 7th grader by the wrist and forcing him to hit himself ”7 to 8 times” in the head in an attempt to make him apologize for something. A teacher’s aide was in the room at the time and yelled for Boyett to stop. She even had to grab Boyett’s arm to keep her from slapping the boy.
The aide immediately reported the incident to school officials who in turn notified the police the following day. Investigators attempted to question the victim, but because of his disability, documents say he was “unable to comprehend the event and form a cognitive statement.”
On Tuesday, Boyett was arrested in her lawyer’s office and was being held on a $6,000 bail, under the alias Margie Terranova (?), until her first court appearance sometime today.…

NEVADA — A high school senior has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of one of his missing classmates was found buried in a shallow grave.
Micaela Costanzo, 16, was reported missing on Friday after failing to return home from track practice the day before. On Saturday morning, a searcher found a freshly dug grave on a rural road near Utah that ended up containing a body that was positively identified as Costanzo’s.
Hours later, the victim’s former boyfriend, Kody Cree Patten, 18, was arrested on suspicion of murder after a cooperative investigation between the West Wendover Police Department, the Elko County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. The vice principal of the high school, Craig Kyllonen, indicated the Patten and Costanzo were friends and used to date.
Patten was in school on Friday and reportedly attended a vigil for Micaela over the weekend. His Facebook is sparse, his last wall post from January stating” “i cant freakin believe this shit! i try my freakin hardest and you blow it out the fuckin window like it dont mean shit!”
The disappearance of Costanzo, a popular athlete at West Wendover High School, prompted more than 100 volunteers across the state to search for the teen. The searcher who found the grave said he was driving on a rural road near the Utah border Saturday when he noticed some ground had been dug up and called police.…
Murder Suspect Admits To Brutally Attacking Woman He Met On Match.com

Las Vegas, NV -- Police say that a Vegas man was so pissed at a woman for breaking off their relationship, he drove to Phoenix and brutally beat and stabbed the woman to death.
Reports are 53-year-old Wade Ridley drove to the home of his ex-girlfriend, 62-year-old Anne Simenson, and stabbed her multiple times with a machete and a butcher knife. He then stole her car as well as some jewelry and electronics.
After he was pulled over driving Simenson’s car and arrested outside the Hard Rock Hotel, he admitted to the murder, robbing a Safeway pharmacy of some oxycodone shortly afterwards and that weeks earlier, he had tried to murder another ex-girlfriend.
In that incident, Ridley told police he was so angry with a woman he met on Match.com for breaking up with him, he broke into her garage and waited for her to come home with the sole purpose of killing her. He told police he wanted to make her pay “for how she mistreated him.”
When 49 year-old Mary Kay Beckman arrived home, Ridley admitted to knocking her to the ground and stabbing her multiple times until the blade of the knife broke inside her. Undeterred, Ridley then began stomping on her head and neck “until she stopped making the gurgling noise.”
“He stomped on her eight times, I’m sure it was on her face,” says neighbor Hsuemi-Mei Yeh, who witnessed the attack from her bedroom window across the street.…

Pahrump, NV — Sharon Broadhead, 29, was arrested Saturday on manslaughter and child abuse charges after three of her children and a family friend died in a mobile home fire that may have been started by one of the kids.
According to Scott Lewis, chief of the Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Service, the investigation has shown that it was an “apparent accidental fire possibly ignited by a juvenile resident.” Though Broadhead was in the home when the fire started, she was the only one to make it out alive.
The charges stem from the fact that the woman’s children were known firebugs, having set several fires in the past, and she did very little to prevent them from doing so again.
“There’s a track record of fires in the residence, fires not reported to the authorities,” Nye County Sheriff Anthony De Meo says. A couple of the children reportedly poked holes in the walls and threw lit paper into them. On another occasion, a pillow was set on fire. Police say one of the rooms in the house had already been destroyed by flames, yet Broadhead never reported it or took the appropriate steps to make sure it never happened again.…

Holland and his congregation of more than eighty “cult-like” followers would regularly meet in the lobby of Rob’s Tax Service for sermons that sometimes last between six and eight hours. Anyway, Holland reportedly convinced the girl, who is under the age of 14, that she was being “counseled” as opposed to being molested. Las Vegas, NV - The body of 31-year-old Debbie Flores-Narvaez, who went missing last month, has been found and her former boyfriend, Jason ‘Bleu’ Griffith, has been arrested in connection with her murder. After receiving a tip, police found Flores-Narvaez’s dismembered body placed in two cement-filled tubs inside a downtown Vegas home. Investigators found out 32-year-old Griffith, the last person to see her alive, had purchased cement and rented a U-Haul moving truck shortly after her disappearance. This particular U-Haul was equipped with a GPS, so investigators were able to track Griffith’s movements and to the house where Flores-Narvaez’s remains were found. Police moved in quickly after the gruesome discovery and arrested Griffith. He is currently being held without bail. I don’t think the arrest was a shock to anyone, Griffith being a person of interest from the beginning. Besides being the last to see her, he has a history of domestic violence and in early December, Flores-Narvaez sent an ominous text message to her mother that read ‘In case there is ever an emergency with me, contact Blu Griffith in Vegas.…
