EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – A 4-year-old girl has died and her 2-year-old brother is in critical condition due to a possible drug overdose. the two young children were in the care of their aunt and another person who allegedly wanted the two children to go to sleep and take a nap. When the two kids would not go to sleep, they were allegedly given some type of pill to make them drowsy. Police found the 4-year-old girl dead inside her home SaturdaySaturday reviewsSaturday reviews after someone from the residence placed a 911 call for an ambulance. She had been dead for four to six hours. They also found the 2-year-old boy who appeared to be groggy and delusional. He was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition.

Police questioned the two and now might be focusing on a single person of interest. More details as they are released, unless any of you locals may know more, that is.

A Lakeville woman has been charged in connection with the Aug. 25 drowning death of her 11-month-old daughter.

After putting her 11-month old daughter, Cecelia, in the bathtub with her 2-year-old son, Katherine Bodem did what most parents do and left them unattended while she went downstairs to shop for shoes online. Surprisingly, the 11-month-old drowned.

KatherineKatherine reviewsKatherine reviews repeatedly told officers ““I’m so stupid, this has been a horrible year for me.” and that she was only gone for 10 minutes before returning upstairs, and witnessing her son pulling Cecelia out of the tub. But her other two children told officers she had been gone for 20 minutes and that the brother came downstairs and said, “Mom, CC.”

Bodem is charged with two counts of second-degree manslaughter. If convicted, she could face up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.
