Donna Smith — A woman and her toddler daughter were found dead in their home Thursday afternoon in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide. They may have been dead for sometime. Authorities say the relative who notified them of the deaths had not heard from Smith for several days.
Dawn Morris - A central Illinois mother is behind bars after police say she encouraged her 15-year-old daughter to fight another girl in a recorded confrontation that was later posted on the Internet. In the video, you see the 15 year olds centennial students fighting. Dawn Morris is the mom heard telling her daughter to “beat her up” and “don’t get tired baby.”

Prosecutors say they’re considering rape and molestation allegations against Melissa Huckaby. San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney Robert Himmelblau said Monday that a homicide charge against Huckaby could include the special circumstances of rape with a foreign object, lewd and lacivious conduct with a child and murder in the course of a kidnapping.

Texas - I am late putting this up because I completely missed it until I saw it listed in the Daily Bite. On Wednesday, Carl Drake was attacked by his bi-polar stepson, Seth Tatum. He was attacked with a pair of hedge clippers and suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured skull. Seth left the residence and ended up at a home 3 miles away. Witnesses state that Seth struck up a conversation with homeowner and then went inside. A short time later, Seth was seen driving away in the man’s car. On Thursday, Seth Tatum drove to the Travis County Courthouse, pulled into a parking space and approached a few officers. Union County, North Carolina–In February, a story was posted in our forums about the discovery of a dead infant left near a burn pile in Union County. The infant, with umbilical cord still attached, had been full-term and had been born alive. There is a possibility the baby may have lived for several hours after being dumped near the burn pile. The novel details what happens when Preston and Spezi try to identify the serial killer known as The Monster of Florence. They think the have found their man, when Preston is asked to leave the country and Spezi is thrown in Italy’s Capanne prison, accused of being the Monster of Florence himself. Wheatfield, Indiana- On March 11, 2009, family members of Rosalba Silvana Ricchio, 54, were alerted by a neighbor who had not seen her since Monday, March 9. After paying a visit to Ricchio’s home, they reported her missing to the police. Her house was in disarray and one of the phone lines had been pulled out or cut. Things didn’t look like they normally would if you left the house voluntarily. Another key component was that her two Pomeranians, that she basically worshiped, were locked in a bathroom.
