On January 26, Iris Hernandez Rivas called 911 and said she found her daughter face-down in the bathtub, “unresponsive with her hands clenched at her side.”
When first responders arrived at her apartment, Hernandez Rivas reportedly told them her daughter had been in the shower for 15 to 20 minutes when a noise from the bathroom prompted her to check on her child.
After finding her daughter face-down in the tub, she took her out and put her on the bedroom floor. She then called her boyfriend and her brother for help before calling 911 an hour after finding her daughter.
Paramedics took the child to the hospital in serious condition where medical staff found “reddish bruising on multiple regions of her body,” an injury to her brain, a “small liver contusion” and “patterned injuries that are the result of blunt force trauma with an object.”
When confronted about the injuries, Hernandez Rivas admitted she kicked the child in the stomach because she was angry that she wouldn’t brush her teeth.…
Mark Pascual was playing Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) with his friend, 25-year-old Ferdinand Madamba Jr., at the Barangay 2 Internet cafe.
According to local reports, Pascual was becoming irritated with Madamba because he kept winning matches and trash talking Pascual.
Madamba challenged Pascual to a fist fight outside the cafe, which Pascual accepted. Once outside, Pascual took out a knife and stabbed Madamba multiple times in the neck and stomach, ultimately leading to his death.
Pascual then fled the scene after murdering his long-time friend. Madamba’s brother, who goes by the name of PJ, discovered his brother lying in a pool of his own blood a few minutes later.
Pascual has not been apprehended at this time, and local authorities have launched a manhunt to find him.
According to reports, Pascual and Madamba have been friends for roughly 10 years. PJ said the two had gotten into a fight earlier in their village.…
The teen, Alexander Kireev, murdered his father Victor, 43, his sister Victoria, 14, and his grandmother Vera, 67. All of the victims were found in their home suffering from multiple axe wounds.
Victoria and Vera were already dead by time police found them, but Victor was still alive. He would die from his injuries after being taken to the hospital.
Some news outlets are reporting the family were murdered in their beds, alongside the same picture of a blood-soaked bed, but a Russian news outlet says the family were attacked during a heated argument, and that Alexander threw the axe into his sister’s head as she tried to run away.
According to friends and neighbors of the family, the teen has been suffering from depression ever since his mother died from cancer three years ago, and did not like his father’s new girlfriend. They say Alexander had become more withdrawn lately, and was describing himself as a Satanist.…
On Saturday, 38-year-old Amy Robertson was witnessed acting frantic outside of her apartment she shares with her son, 12-year-old Caden Berry.
Robertson was crying and reportedly walked into the apartment building’s courtyard and began yelling about demons.
When a neighbor asked Robertson where her son was, Robertson reportedly told her that Berry was under a blanket inside the apartment.
“There was a recliner tipped over and he was halfway on it under a blanket,” said Brenda King. “I pulled the blanket back and I could tell he was gone.”
Police were called to the scene where Berry was pronounced dead at the scene. Robertson was still at the scene when police arrived and was taken into custody.
She has been booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility without bail on an aggravated murder charge. Her next court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow.
The state medical examiner is working to determine his cause Berry’s death, so no further details on exactly how Berry died has been released.…
Police were called to the home of Larry and Courtney Taylor on Friday night after a relative went to check on the family after not hearing from them all day.
“He went over there to check on them. No one had heard from there that day,” said Sheriff Colan Harrell. “He saw a body, left and called 911.”
When deputies arrived at the home, they had to kick in a back door to gain entry. Once inside, they encountered 41-year-old Courtney Taylor who was brandishing a pistol.
“He told her to put the weapon down and she didn’t,” Harrell said.
When Taylor aimed the pistol at the deputies, Deputy Sanders shot Taylor twice, once in the chest and once in the abdomen. She was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies would then find the dead bodies of Taylor’s 56-year-old husband Larry, 18-year-old daughter Jesse and 13-year-old daughter Jolee.…
Police say 64-year-old Edgard Fuentes broke into his estranged wife’s home Thursday night and poured gasoline on her as she was sleeping.
Her son, 32-year-old Eric Montes, ran to her bedroom after hearing her yell in surprise and got into a struggle with Fuentes.
Montes was also doused with gasoline in his attempts to stop Fuentes, but he was unable to prevent Fuentes from igniting the gasoline and flee the home.
The resulting fire engulfed the home, destroying it. One neighbor described what he witnessed after hearing screaming.
“When I heard some screaming, they were in the back yard. I saw the lady rolling on the floor on fire. There was another lady crying for help,” he said.
Daisy Tapia, 61, and her son were both rushed to the hospital where they remained in critical condition for hours before dying from their injuries.…
According to police, 65-year-old Rebecca Rawson went to the home of 83-year-old Eugene Matthews to retrieve a dog, Bart, that belonged to Rawson’s estranged husband, who died last week.
Matthews was a friend Rawson’s estranged husband, and took the dog in after his death.
When Rawson showed up to the home with her daughter and brother-in-law, she stayed in the car. When her brother-in-law knocked on the door, a woman answered the door and he called the dog’s name.
When Bart came to the door, he picked him up and took him back to the car. That’s when Matthews came out of the house and fired a handgun into the air twice before firing once at the car Rawson was sitting in.
The shot went through the windshield and hit Rawson in the face, killing her. Matthews’ family is saying he acted in self-defense, and that the Rawson family blasted through the gate and kicked down the front door, but the sheriff’s office said that account contradicts the evidence gathered from the scene.…
On Tuesday morning, police responded to a home after family members inside called 911 to report an assault.
When police arrived they found 52-year-old Pamela Wolosz dead inside the home, and her 16-year-old daughter seriously injured.
Police say the 12-year-old son and brother of the victims had stabbed them both multiple times with a chef’s knife that he had taken from the kitchen.
Ashland police Chief Tighe O’Meara said the 12-year-old cooperated with police and that the situation was “contained immediately and there was no threat as soon as officers got on scene.”
The boy’s sister was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive. The boy was arrested on allegations of homicide and assault and is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility in Medford.
Although a 12-year-old can be charged as an adult, an attorney with the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office said they haven’t decided what will happen in this case.…
On Monday night at around 9pm, Mingming Chen called police to report her 5-year-old daughter, Ashley Zhao, was missing.
She told police that she last saw her daughter hours earlier and felt she had wondered out of Ang’s Asian Cuisine, the restaurant her family operates.
Police and locals began a search for Ashley, and an endangered child alert was issued. These were called off when Ashley’s body was discovered found “deceased and concealed” inside the family’s restaurant.
It was then that investigators learned the truth about what happened to the girl.
According to police, Chen repeatedly punched her daughter in the head for reasons unknown at this time. The girl’s father, Liang Zhao, found his daughter on the ground with a green liquid coming from her mouth.
When he tried washing off the liquid, he noticed she was no longer breathing and attempted CPR, but was unable to save Ashley.…
For those of you who may have missed this horrible story from August, Victoria Martens was killed on her 10th birthday and her dismembered remains were found wrapped in a smoldering blanket inside her family’s apartment.
Investigators would learn that Victoria’s mother, 35-year-old Michelle Martens, would solicit men to have sex with her daughter for her own sexual gratification. These men would include co-workers and men she met online.
One of these men she met online, 32-year-old Fabian Gonzales, raped Victoria before he strangled her to death as Martens watched. Gonzales and his cousin, 32-year-old Jessica Kelley, would try to dispose of Victoria’s body by dismembering it in a bathtub before wrapping it in a blanket and setting it on fire.
Martens, Gonzales and Kelley were all arrested and are in jail on a myriad of charges. Their trials are scheduled for October. You can read more about the initial reports of Victoria’s murder by clicking here.…
There’s a lot of details with this case, so I’m going to start at the beginning.
Back in July, 41-year-old Sara Packer went to police to report her adopted daughter, 14-year-old Grace Packer, had run away from home after an argument. She explained she had done this before and that on this occasion, she had taken $300 from the home.
Over the next several months, the Abington Township Police Department investigated Grace’s disappearance, but without the help of Sara. They say Sara ignored them, didn’t let Grace’s family know she was missing and continued to collect a Social Security check in the girl’s name – spending over $3000 of the funds.
In November, Packer was charged with hindering attempts to find her daughter and later released on bail.
On October 31, hunters would find a head and torso in the woods and called police.…
Police responding to an assault call arrived at a home where they found a 58-year-old man in his driveway suffering from multiple stab wounds.
He told police that his daughter-in-law, 24-year-old Krystle Villanueve, had attacked him with a knife and that she was still inside the home with her 5-year-old daughter.
The man told police he had been making lunch in the kitchen when he saw Villanueve walk into a back bedroom with a knife and then heard her daughter, Giovanna Hernandez, start crying.
She then walked out of the bedroom and started stabbing him in the back and forehead. He managed to wrestle the knife away from her and run outside. Neighbors told police that after the man exited the home, Villanueve also came out brandishing a shotgun before returning inside the home.
A SWAT team was called and entered the home to find Villanueve naked after having just taken a shower.…
According to police, Jones was with a friend inside the Walmart at around 1 a.m. when he got into a verbal confrontation with Jemison.
The two men reportedly knew each other and had been engaged in a long-standing feud of some sort.
That’s when Jemison allegedly bashed Jones in the head with a motorcycle helmet, knocking the man unconscious. Jones was rushed to the hospital where the father of two sons would be pronounced dead from severe head trauma.
Police quickly identified Jemison after releasing surveillance footage of him leaving the Walmart while carrying the helmet. Investigators say Jemison is still at large after he failed to turn himself in on Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone who may know where Jemison is hiding out is being asked to call the Tomball Police Department at 281-351-5451.…
Last Friday, police found 30-year-old David Gorski dead inside his car that was stopped on the center median of Milwaukee Avenue near Hollister Drive.
Gorski had been killed by a bullet that went through his right arm and into his chest.
Investigators learned that Gorski had been on a date with an unnamed woman earlier that evening, and that the couple had visited the AMC Hawthorn 12 theater half a mile away in Vernon Hills.
During their interview with the woman, she told police about 37-year-old Kenneth Seplak. She claimed Seplak was a prior acquaintance of hers who has been stalking her and had shown up uninvited to her home on a previous occasion.
Police found Seplak at his home on Saturday and checked his mobile phone’s GPS records. They discovered he was at the Vernon Hills theater at the same time as Gorski and his date, and near the location where Gorski had been shot.…
Police were making a welfare check at a home Monday afternoon after 40-year-old Sheri Shermeyer made a disturbing post on Facebook to her husband.
The entire post can be read below (it is scathing), but in the message she expresses her unhappiness with the way her husband, John, treated her and their son, as well as his drinking.
In the message she flat out tells him he would never see his son again and that he doesn’t deserve a son to carry on his name. She also tells him she hopes he drinks himself to death thinking about all he had lost.
“Hope I don’t see you in Hell,” she tells him near the end of the message. This message, as you can imagine, is what had someone call police to check on her and her son.…
Police responding to a call of a fire at the Rocky Ledge Shell Station would find the store’s clerk, David Wicks, suffering from severe burns.
Unfortunately, despite being airlifted to the hospital, Wicks would die from his injuries.
A review of the store’s video surveillance showed a masked person walking into the gas station and spraying Wicks with a liquid. As Wicks starts walking around the counter, the suspect lights him on fire and leaves him to die.
Investigators have no idea who the person is or the motive behind the seemingly unprovoked attack, so they are turning to the public for help. They are offering $10,000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction of David Wicks’ killer.
Aside from what can be seen in the surveillance footage, the only other clues they have at the moment is a bicycle that was found nearby that matched the description of the bike the killer rode away on.…
Earlier this month, 35-year-old David Vandewege called 911 to report he had come home from work to find his wife, Shanna Vandewege, and their 3-month-old son, Diederik, dead.
Police arrived and found both victims in their beds with their throats slits, and their deaths were ruled homicides. Vandewege was interviewed by detectives on two occasions, but had stopped communicating with investigators.
On Wednesday, police in Glenwood Springs were called by someone who told them Vandewege was headed to Las Vegas and trying to escape the authorities. Vandewege was stopped by a cop shortly after.
Vandewege told the officer that he was headed to Las Vegas. He said it had been a long week and that his wife and kid had been recently murdered. According to the police report, Vandewege showed no emotion when he relayed this information.
When the officer asked why he was not wearing a wedding band, Vandewege stated the ring was in his pocket “along with numerous condoms.”
The officer contacted Fort Worth police to verify Vandewege’s claims and learned he hadn’t been ruled out as a suspect in his wife and child’s murder, had fled the area, and had stopped talking to investigators.…
The two boys had been home alone when the 13-year-old called his parents, who in turn called police.
Responding officers found the 12-year-old in a bedroom dead from a gunshot wound. It was first thought that the gunshot had been self-inflicted, but after examining the evidence they felt his death was in fact a homicide.
After multiple interviews throughout the night, the 13-year-old was arrested on first-degree murder charges and placed in the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center.
Police have not released a motive behind the shooting, or if the boys’ parents will also face charges. The principal of Northwest Middle School, where both boys attended, released the following statement:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic event that occurred Tuesday night involving two of our students. Our hearts are heavy as we offer our thoughts and prayers to the family during this very difficult time.”
