Chicago Police Officer Shoots And Kills Pit Bull As It Attacks Teen

Chicago, IL – A pit bull was shot and killed by a Chicago police officer while the dog was in the middle of eating a teenager.
The teen wasn’t the demon’s first victim, either. The first was 63-year-old Gerald Myers earlier in the day. The 90-lb Hell-Hound attacked the man, pulled him to the ground and dragged him down the street. Myers ended up with 11 stitches, but only because the guy knew a demon’s weak spot – the window to the soul.
“He switched legs and got on my right leg. And that’s when I stuck my fingers in his eyes and he let me go,” Myers said.
A police sergeant got the call regarding the attack on Myers and went in search for the beast. When he found the dog, it was already making a second attempt at a sacrifice for Satan. Tyrell Henry had been walking to school when the skies grew dark and the air dropped by 15 degrees. That’s when the monster attacked, seemingly coming from nowhere.…

Harleyville, SC – Police say 80-year-old Carlton Freeman has died after the double-amputee was dragged from his motorized wheelchair and mauled by four pit bulls.
The attack happened on May 8 as Freeman was driving his motorized wheelchair. The dogs pulled him off his wheelchair and tried to drag him into some nearby woods. The man lost both legs to diabetes, so the only thing he could do was use his hands to protect his throat.
When found, he was suffering from bites from his legs to the top of his head. He was rushed to the hospital where he remained until his death on Sunday. “Upon my examination of Mr. Freeman, it is a wonder that this gentleman was able to hang on as long as he did,’ Coroner Chris Nisbet said in a statement.
Three of the four dogs, a female and her two puppies, belong to a relative of Freeman’s, 61-year-old Barbara Goodwin. Those dogs were found at her home with blood streaks in their fur and have been placed in an animal shelter.…

Fulton County, GA – I had hoped there wouldn’t be any pit bull stories circulating this week, as I am tired of talking about them on our podcast, but a 2-year-old in Georgia was mauled to death by his family’s pit bull.
The attack happened shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday inside the boy’s home, when his mother went inside the bathroom. That’s when the family’s pit bull, owned by the mother for about eight years, decided to kill the toddler for reasons unknown.
“She advised it happened fast,” Parker said. “It was an obvious death once the mother came out of the restroom.”
A neighbor reported he heard the child’s mother after she ran outside of the home and rolled around on the ground screaming, “‘The dog killed the baby! The dog killed the baby!”
The dog remained inside the home for a couple of hours after the attack, possibly inside a bathroom. Animal control employees eventually removed the dog from the home and transported it to a shelter where it will be observed for several days.…

Carlsbad, NM - Courtney Hutchins, 22, was arrested for child endangerment after climbing over a barricade with her 3 year old son, Ethan, to get a closer look at a bobcat. Apparently she got a little too close as the bobcat was able to scratch the boy’s head badly enough to require 8 skull staples.
Hutchins, her brother LeeVon, and her son were at Living Desert Zoo & Gardens State Park when they decided to climb over a 40-inch high railing. Once over the outer barrier, they coaxed the cats to the inner fence and pet them. A bobcat reached through the chainlink, grabbed the boy’s head and pulled him towards it, inflicting serious head wounds on the 3 year old.
Hutchins told police she did not see any of the many signs warning against being dangerously stupid. She also said she did not know the word “barrier” before she heard police use it.
Feelings of anger and/or homicidal ideations are a natural first reaction to learning how careless and unconcerned for her own child’s welfare this woman could be. A little snooping on her Facebook, however, reveals a lot.…

WALDORF, MD – A 5-year-old girl is recovering from some horrendous injuries she received after being attacked by two dogs in her backyard.
Police said the 5-year-old was at the home with her mother’s boyfriend when she wandered into the backyard where three dogs, an English bulldog and two Presa Canarios, were being kept in a kennel. The dog’s were not owned by the family, according to reports.
“We’re hearing that the dogs may have just been dropped off at the house to be watched after by the homeowners, so we’re still trying to verify that,” said Diane Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
It’s not clear how or why two of the dogs were not in their kennel, but the English Bulldog and one of the Pres Canarios viciously attacked the girl for reasons unknown.
“It’s not clear if she let the dogs out of the kennel,” says Diane Richardson, spokesperson for the Charles County Sheriff’s Department. “It’s not clear if they were even in the kennel… at this point there are no obvious signs of neglect or anything like that.”
When the boyfriend found Savanna, she was in the fetal position, unconscious, with the two dogs near her body.…

Westwego, LA - Linda Henry, 54, lost an eye, an ear and both arms, after she was attacked by three pit bulls she and her boyfriend had raised since they were puppies.
Henry and her boyfriend, Clarence Allen, have raised four pit bulls inside their home and treated them like their own kids. On Wednesday afternoon, Henry walked into her home and within minutes she was fighting for her life.
For reasons unknown at this time, Zeus, a 4-year-old male; Brutus, a 2-year-old male; and Ghost, a 4-year-old female, attacked Henry. A neighbor heard Henry yelling and called police while another tried getting inside the home, only to be attacked by one of the dogs.
When police arrived, they found Henry being mauled by all three dogs. “They could hear the woman screaming in the house,” said Police Chief Dwayne “Poncho” Munch. “They saw all three dogs biting her.”
Two of the dogs were shot and killed after they turned on the officers. A third dog was shot while still mauling Henry. A fourth dog, Big Lucy, had been in a back room and was not seen attacking Henry.…

Bronx, NY - Surveillance video captured a pit bull attacking a 6-year-old girl walking on a sidewalk in the Bronx Sunday afternoon.
In the video you can see as the girl and her grandmother are walking down Webster Avenue when the dog charges after the girl from across the street, latches on to her, then starts dragging the little girl around the sidewalk.
The girl’s grandmother tries desperately to protect her, to no avail. Other people rush in and start kicking the pit bull and are finally able to pull it off of the girl.
“At first the dog tried to bite her in the face, but he grabbed the jacket, he bit her on the leg,” said Eduardo Candelier, who was one of the people who rushed in to help. ”The girl was crying, she was going crazy.”
The owner of the dog was also present and reportedly yelled at the crowd to leave his dog alone, then put the dog on a leash after witnesses were able to pull it off the girl it was trying to eat.…

Galesburg, IL – Ashiya Ferguson, the owner of the pit bull that killed 7-year-old Ryan Maxwell earlier this month, told reporters that she wants to die.
Lot of details out there regarding what led to this tragic incident, but still no word on what triggered the actual attack. After reading several articles (all of which will be linked) here is what is known so far.
On March 1st, Sarah Mead let her 7-year-old son, Ryan Maxwell, go roller skating for the first time – not knowing it would be his last. He would be spending the night at the home of Ashiya Ferguson, the wife of Sarah’s brother, along with Ashiya’s two boys, after going roller skating. The next day, Ryan was outside playing in Ashiya’s backyard when he was viciously mauled to death by the woman’s pit bull.
“He got so excited. He was excited to go skating and excited to spend the night with some other kids,” Sarah said, sobbing. “I let him go, and then this happened.”

Walworth, WI - On Wednesday, 14-month-old Dax Borchardt was mauled to death by his babysitter’s two pit bulls.
Police received a call from Borchardt’s babysitter, 30-year-old Susan Iwicki, stating she and the boy were being attacked by her two pit bulls.
Borchardt was taken to Mercy-Walworth Medical Center before being airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where he died from critical injuries at about 3:30pm.
Iwicki was also injured in the attack, but as of Thursday morning, her condition is unknown. The two dogs were later euthanized by a local veterinarian.
No word on if charges will be filed, but Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Captain Dana Nigbor said that ”unless something drastically changes,” this will not be a criminal case.
Borchardt’s father expressed his anger on his Facebook page, stating “these pitbulls was not abused, mistreated, or harmed in ANY way” and that he “will do everything in my power to make sure this breed is bred out of existence.”
I feel bad for the guy. Not only losing a son, but losing him in such a violent way.…

Pittsburgh, PA — The mother of the 2-year-old boy who fell into a pit of African wild dogs while visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo, and was subsequently mauled to death, will not be facing charges.
Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. said that Maddox Derkosh’s death at the zoo was a “tragic accident” and that they would not be charging his mother, 34-year-old Elizabeth Derkosh. However, authorities are still investigating the zoo for possible criminal negligence.
The attack happened earlier this month while Maddox was with his family visiting the zoo. While at the African dog exhibit, Maddox’s mother placed him on top of the viewing deck’s railing. The boy wore glasses and she wanted Maddox to get a better view. And man, did he ever.
Witnesses say that Maddox lurched forward, as if he thought there was some sort of clear barrier to stop him, and ended up going over the rail. After bouncing out of a small safety net designed to catch small items like cameras and phones, Maddox landed 11 ft below and was immediately attacked by 11 dogs.…

Pittsburgh, PA — A 2-year-old boy met a horrific end on yesterday after he fell into the African painted dog exhibit at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium and was subsequently mauled to death as relatives and bystanders watched, unable to help the boy.
The attack happened at about 11:45 a.m. Sunday after the boy’s mother picked him up and placed him on top of a railing at the edge of a viewing deck so that he could get a better view of the dogs. “Almost immediately after that he lost his balance, fell down off the railing into the pit, and he was immediately attacked by 11 dogs,” Lt. Kevin Kraus of the Pittsburgh police said. “It was very horrific.”
The boy fell 11 to 14 feet from the railing to the ground below, and it’s not yet known if it was the fall that killed the boy, or the pack of dogs that mauled him. Milwaukee, WI – Two men in Wisconsin are facing charges after being accused of using a pit bull to attack one of the men’s teenage son.
According to reports, the attack happened while 43-year-old Joel E. Kennedy and his 18-year-old son, Joel Kennedy Jr., visited 58-year-old Richard R. Lisko’s home over the Labor Day weekend. At some point, Lisko suspected the teen had stolen some of his morphine and gold coins so in response, Lisko commanded his pit bull, Bubba, to attack the teen.
When the teen would not ‘fess up to the theft, Lisko and Kennedy suspended the boy from his ankles from a back porch rafter. Then, according to the criminal complaint, Lisko again commanded Bubba to attack the teen as he remained suspended upside down for about an hour.
The teen said the only reason why the attack stopped was because Lisko had called a friend over to the home and that man, 56-year-old Harry Haack, ordered them to stop what they were doing and to untie the teen.
Haack told AP that Lisko called him Friday night and told him to come over.…

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The man from San Diego who was killed by a grizzly bear while hiking in Alaska’s Denali National Park took photos of the bear moments before it attacked and killed him.
Despite having undergone mandatory bear awareness training before being allowed to hike in the park, and given specific instructions on what to do in case of a bear encounter, photos from 49-year-old Richard White’s camera show he chose to ignore those instructions before he was attack and killed by the bear he was photographing.
Rangers inform hikers to stay at least a quarter mile from a bear and to slowly back away if you find yourself any closer to one, but photos taken by White show the man was taking pictures within 40 to 50 yards of the grizzly moments before the attack.
The last photos taken by White, which have not been made public, show the grizzly with his head down while grazing along the Toklat River gravel bar. The last series of photos span about 15 seconds, and show the bear lifting its head, looking toward the camera, then moving towards White.…

Henderson, NV – A 1-year-old boy died on Saturday after being attacked by the family dog while celebrating his first birthday with family.
The unidentified boy was at his grandmother’s house with family when he crawled over to the family’s six-year old, 120-pound Mastiff/Rhodesian mix to pet it. According to the family, they have raised the dog since he was a puppy and he had never shown aggression towards anyone before.
But on this occasion the dog attacked the boy, latching his mouth around the little boy’s head and then shaking him like a chew toy. The boy’s grandmother immediately tried to pull the boy out of the dog’s mouth to no avail.
The boy’s father was upstairs when the attack occurred but was able to get the dog to let go within 20 seconds of the attack. But the damage to the boy was devastating. “The baby’s face was torn off,” he said. The boy was rushed to the hospital but would die a few hours later.
Animal control officers took the dog to an animal shelter where he will be quarantined for ten days.…

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after the family pit bull mauled him on Thursday.
Ryan Moody was rushed to the hospital suffering from bite wounds to his face and head, then airlifted to another hospital in Little Rock for surgery. According to his mother, Amber Moody, their nine-month-old pit bull attacked Ryan in the front yard.
Police have since learned that Amber adopted the pit bull from the Humane Society last March. I didn’t know this, but the Humane Society normally doesn’t adopt out pit bulls to families with young children.
Amber was able to get around this technicality by simply putting, “none”‘ in the section of the adoption form asking for the number of children in her home. But some chick at the Humane Society wants to remind everyone that it’s not the breed as any breed of dog poses a threat to young children.
“If a dog is sleeping and the child goes and jumps on it, it doesn’t even know who jumped on it. It’s first reaction is to turn around and snap,” said Margaret Shepherd, the Executive Director of the Humane Society.…

Orange County, FL – A woman is recovering in the hospital from having an arm and leg amputated after being attacked by a pit bull, and another man is facing charges because of the incident.
Police say 30-year-old Ian Summers had taken Robin Johnson, a known prostitute, to a house in order to have sex and smoke crack. In the home was a pit bull named Feisty, a pit bull with a long history of attacking people. Summers admitted he was scared of the dog, but that it was necessary for Johnson to meet Feisty so that it would not get aggressive towards her.
“I had to introduce her to the dog because he is very aggressive and has bitten five people over the last month,” Summers later told deputies.
Unfortunately, the meeting did not go well as Feisty immediately began mauling Johnson. Instead of helping her, Summers simply walked out of the house and shut the door behind him leaving Johnson to fight for her life.
“When he attacked I did not want to be anywhere near that dog, he scares the death out of me,” Summers told deputies, “so I left and closed the door.”
Summers told deputies he ran to get help at a nearby fire station, but witnesses say that it was actually another man who went for help.…

Fort Worth, TX - Here’s a dog mauling story that has more white trash in it than my ex-wife’s family. Earlier this week, an 18-month-old boy crawled through a doggy door while his parents slept and was attacked by four mixed-breed boxers.
By the time Chance Walker Jr.’s mother was woken up by the commotion and stepped between her son and the dogs, Chance had already suffered some serious trauma to his face. Police released a 911 call made by a neighbor where you can hear Chance screaming in the background.
One neighbor described seeing Chase in his grandfather’s arms with one ear almost completely off, hanging by a piece of skin. The boy was rushed to the hospital to treat the numerous bite marks to his face and hopefully save his left ear. Once it is time for Chance to go home, it won’t be to his parents. A judge has decided that unless a suitable relative is found, he will be placed in a foster home. It’s probably for the best.…

Chicago, IL - Morning jogger Joseph Finley, 62, was reportedly left in critical condition after being bitten by two pit bulls over his entire body – including his legs, arms and face – police said.
The dogs, described by Chicago officials as unneutered adult males each weighing approximately 70 pounds, were reported to have attacked Finley on a popular south side Chicago jogging trail. One of the dogs was described as being chocolate brown in color and the other was described as being white with dark spots. The dogs were said to have had matching two-inch nylon collars.
Neighbor Stanley Lee opened an apartment window and heard Finley’s screams for help. When he looked out, he says he saw the two pit bulls attacking Finley.
“He was saying, ‘Help me, help me,’” Lee said. Lee grabbed a baseball bat and ran outside to try to chase the dogs away from the jogger. He said he hit the dogs repeatedly with the bat, but they would not release the man or stop their attack.…

PUEBLO, Colo. – A woman in Colorado is in the hospital recovering after a pair of pit bulls gave her a haircut.
The 60-year-old woman walking down the road Monday morning when she passed a house where two pit bulls resided. The two dogs chased after the woman after the male dog broke from his chain and the female escaped from her pen.
The woman was dragged for 15 feet by her hair and in the process of being mauled to death when a delivery driver showed up and stopped the attack. When the ambulance arrived, they found the woman’s scalp had become completely detached, and was lying on the ground. She was airlifted to the hospital along with her new wig where she’ll undergo several surgeries to repair the damage done to her head.
Police found the two dogs by following their footprints and had to use their mace when the dogs turned on them. The owner of the animals, Paul Rodriguez, was issued a summons and complaint for two counts of unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog.…

PACIFICA, CA – Police say a pregnant woman was mauled to death by the family pit bull inside her home on Thursday.
Her husband, Greg Napora, says the last time he saw 32-year-old Darla Napora was when he was leaving for work. She was sleeping in the bed with their two pit bulls — Gunner, a 2-year-old male and Tazi, a 6-year-old female.
When he returned home at around 12, he found Darla laying on the ground covered in blood with Gunner, also covered in blood, hovering near her body. Napora called 911 and wrestled Gunner into the backyard, receiving some hand injuries in the process. Paramedics tried to save Darla, but she died on the scene.
One neighbor described a horrific scene.
“He was in the driveway all frantic, yelling,” said Carlson, who lives across from the couple. “He had blood on his hands, blood on his shirt and blood down his pants.”
While paramedics tried to save Darla’s life, Gunner escaped from the backyard. When he approached them, police shot him multiple times, killing him.…
