Veronica Alford Pleads Guilty To Helping Son Hide Teen Girl’s Body In Alley

BALTIMORE, MD – Back in March 2012 we reported on the two kids, ages 12 and 13, who accidentally shot and killed their friend, 13-year-old Monae Turnage. They were arrested after they tried to hide the girl’s body under some trash in an alley. On Monday, the younger boy’s mother, 49-year-old Veronica Alford, pleaded guilty to helping the boys move the girl’s body.
For those of you who do not remember, Monae Turnage was inside a home playing with two the boys when someone brought out a AK-47 .22 caliber rifle. Reportedly, Alford’s 13-year-old son accidentally discharged the rifle and Monae was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest.
The two boys panicked and dragged Monae, with the help of Alford, out of the house and into a nearby alley where they hid her body under some bags of trash. When she never arrived home, Monae’s family called police and began searching the neighborhood. Monae’s brother would eventually see her leg sticking out from some trash in the alley directly behind the house she had been visiting.…

WALDORF, MD – A 5-year-old girl is recovering from some horrendous injuries she received after being attacked by two dogs in her backyard.
Police said the 5-year-old was at the home with her mother’s boyfriend when she wandered into the backyard where three dogs, an English bulldog and two Presa Canarios, were being kept in a kennel. The dog’s were not owned by the family, according to reports.
“We’re hearing that the dogs may have just been dropped off at the house to be watched after by the homeowners, so we’re still trying to verify that,” said Diane Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
It’s not clear how or why two of the dogs were not in their kennel, but the English Bulldog and one of the Pres Canarios viciously attacked the girl for reasons unknown.
“It’s not clear if she let the dogs out of the kennel,” says Diane Richardson, spokesperson for the Charles County Sheriff’s Department. “It’s not clear if they were even in the kennel… at this point there are no obvious signs of neglect or anything like that.”
When the boyfriend found Savanna, she was in the fetal position, unconscious, with the two dogs near her body.…

Baltimore, MD – Police have arrested 67-year-old William Steven Albaugh, a deacon for Baltimore’s St. Joseph’s Church, after Verizon found he was storing child porn on their servers.
Detectives first became aware of Albaugh after Verizon Online notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that that Albaugh, a subscriber to their Verizon Online Backup and Sharing, was storing child porn on their online cloud storage system.
Albaugh was arrested on March 1st, and admitted he had been viewing child porn since the ’70s but that he would never harm a child. Police would discover child porn on both his Verizon account and on a flash drive, and would seize two PCs and an iPad.
Police do not feel any of the images they found depict children from St. Joseph’s, its school, or the Fullerton community. The Archdiocese of Baltimore released a statement stating they have never received any prior allegations against Albaugh, who was ordained in 1996.
Albaugh was charged with possessing child pornography and has since been released on $75,000 bond as the investigation continues.
While any story concerning child pornography is concerning, I also find it a bit concerning that Verizon is checking out the files their customer’s are backing up.…

Baltimore, MD - Josh Welch, a second-grader at Park Elementary School was suspended from school for two days after he brandished his breakfast pastry like a firearm.
According to Josh, he was eating a breakfast pastry at school when he decided to try and shape it into a mountain. But the more he nibbled on it, the less it looked like a mountain, and the more it looked like a super dangerous firearm – with strawberry filling.
“All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but, it didn’t look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun kinda,” Josh told reporters.
A teacher noticed Josh brandishing his delicious weapon, claiming he pointed it and said “Bang! Bang!”. Josh said he knew he was in big trouble because the teacher “was pretty mad.”
Because of his actions, Josh was suspended from school for two days, much to his father’s astonishment. “I would almost call it insanity,” he said. “I mean with all the potential issues that could be dealt with at school, real threats, bullies, whatever the real issue is, it’s a pastry.., Ya know?”
Park Elementary School sent a letter to parents to inform them that: “A student used food to make an inappropriate gesture” but that their children were safe from Josh’s terrorism.…

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Police have charged 25-year-old Chelsea Booth with the death of her daughter after finding the 2-year-old’s body in an Annapolis City waste transfer site.
Police spoke with Booth after her neighbors called to report they had not seen Booth’s daughter for days. Booth told the officers that the child was with her father, 28-year-old Antwan Nelson. However, when police spoke with Nelson, he told them that he’d not seen his daughter in several months.
After Booth and Nelson were brought in for police questioning, Booth told police that a “Muslim curse” had been placed on her daughter by the child’s father and that her daughter was possessed by an evil spirit. She said she had no choice but to murder the little girl by laying on top of her and smothering her until she stopped breathing.
Afterwards, Booth admitted she wrapped her daughter in a blanket and then tossed her into a dumpster at her apartment complex. Investigators were dispatched to a Waste Management Inc. center where they searched for the child’s body for hours, finally locating the it inside a rail car that was slated for a landfill in Virginia.…

Baltimore, MD – A cell phone video was recently published on Youtube that showed a high school teacher being bullied by her students.
The video was taken inside a classroom at Digital Harbor High, a magnet school in Federal Hill. It shows a substitute teacher sitting behind her desk as she dodges objects being thrown at her while another student flicks her head and face. You can hear the teacher tell them to stop, threatening suspension, only to be met with laughter from other students as she is called a bitch and told to shut up.
“Respect for adults. Somewhere there’s just, no civility. They don’t even respect the adults in the classroom who are trying to deliver a lesson and this is the battle we fight,” said Marietta English, the head of the teachers union in Baltimore city. She has seen the video and says this type of behavior happens more often than most people think.
She recommends teachers report this kind of activity to school police, administration, and the teachers union. The teacher in this video did not file a complaint with the police or the teacher’s union, opting to let the school administration handle it.…

ABINGDON, Md. – A man in Maryland is facing prison time after his dumbass pulled a crowded theater’s fire alarm during a showing of THE AVENGERS.
David Walters was at the theater Monday night to watch the latest super-hero flick (it’s damn good, btw) when he got upset over the theater’s decision to accommodate the hearing impaired with open captions.
Open captions are sort of like subtitles, but the text on the screen includes descriptors of dialogue, song lyrics, and important sound effects during the film. I think it’s pretty cool of the studio to provide it and awesome of the Regal theater to show it.
Walters didn’t think so, however, and felt the text was ruining the movie. He decided that if he couldn’t enjoy the movie like the hearing impaired in the audience, then no one was. So with tears streaming down his face, and blood flowing from his weeping vagina, Walters used his balled-up fists to pull the fire alarm in protest.
Because of his actions, Walters is looking at up to five years in prison.…

Baltimore – A Baltimore woman was able to smuggle a kitchen knife into a Department of Social Services and then used it to stab her 8 month old child in the face, chest and neck.
Kenisha Thomas, 29, was at the Baltimore Social Services office having a supervised visit with her infant daughter that she no longer has custody of.
Visitors are supposed to pass through a metal detector and are subjected to bag screenings, but as the end of their visit ticked away she pulled out a long, wood handled kitchen knife and started stabbing her baby in the neck and face.
Hearing screams of help, co-workers rushed into the conference room to see the mother holding the infant on the table and pressing the blade of the knife to her throat. Kenisha was met with a chair to the face and pinned to the ground until help could arrive.

BALTIMORE, MD - Police have arrested a total of four suspects in connection to the videotaped beating of a tourist in downtown Baltimore during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
For those of you living under a rock, a video was posted online last month that showed an unidentified man getting his ass handed to him by a rowdy mob. The victim, who was clearly drunk off his ass, can be seen getting surrounded by a group of people when 20-year-old Aaron Parsons reaches in and takes something out of the victim’s pocket. When the victim walks after him, Parsons cold-cocks him.
While laying on the sidewalk wondering what the hell happened to him, a mob of people descend on him delivering a volley of punches and kicks while robbing him and stripping him of his clothing. The entire time, onlookers simply laugh and film the assault.
The video of the attack quickly went viral — mostly because of the brutality of the video and the fact that the victim is white and his attackers were black.…

Annapolis, MD — Police arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly exposing himself to women at Anne Arundel Community College on numerous occasions back in February.
Several women reportedly complained to police that a man in a silver vehicle was exposing himself on campus between the 16th and 22nd of February.
After an extensive investigation involving both campus security and local law enforcement, a potential suspect was identified. That suspect, 28-year-old Jacob Bovia, was arrested Friday after he was seen acting all suspicious-like while seated in his silver Honda Accord.
One thing led to another, and police soon discovered Bovia was in possession of fake genitalia. When questioned, Bovia reportedly admitted to “exposing” the fake junk while, presumably, keeping the real junk in his draws. And that, my friends, resulted in three counts of indecent exposure and two counts of disorderly conduct.…

BALTIMORE, MD – A 13-year-old girl was found shot to death in an alley, buried under a pile of trash, and now two of her young friends have been charged with killing her.
Police say on Saturday night, 13-year-old Monae Turnage was inside a home with two boys, ages 12 and 13, playing with a .22 caliber rifle. The gun fired and Monae was killed by a shot to her chest.
Police say the two boys panicked and dragged Monae into a nearby alley then hid her body under some bags of trash. Afterwards, one of the boys called Monae’s mother to tell her that she was on her way home. When he called a second time to see if she had gotten there, Monae’s mother became suspicious.
When she still had not arrived home by 1 a.m. Sunday, her family called police and started searching for her. Monae’s brother would eventually see her leg sticking out from trash in an alley directly behind the house she had been visiting that night.

PARKVILLE, Md. - A 13-year-old boy died the other day after he fell out of a moving car and was struck by another vehicle. According to reports, he had opened the front passenger door to throw up, sick from having consumed Four Loko.
Michael Truluck’s mother says her son had spent Saturday afternoon with friends at a fast food restaurant and playing basketball. Just before 6 p.m. he texted her and asked for someone to come pick him and two friends up, so she sent her fiancee to get them.
What they didn’t know was that Truluck was sick from drinking Four Loko, which can be 12% alcohol, an unidentified adult had purchased for him. For those unaware, Four Loko is an alcoholic beverage that once contained caffeine and at one time was marketed as energy drinks. The company that produces it got into some legal issues that led to them removing the caffeine and to stop marketing the product as energy drinks.

Baltimore City, MD - Manuel Loja, 35, reportedly sent texts to the owner of a pair of stolen red thong underwear that included photos of that very same pair of stolen red thong underwear. Oddly, this did not work out well for Loja.
According to reports, on February 2, an unidentified female victim’s rear kitchen door was pried open to gain entry and cash, jewelry, and a pair of red thong underwear were taken. The victim told police that she had received the jewelry from a man she knew as “Luis,” and that “Luis” began sending her “taunting” text messages after the break-in that included a photos of her stolen panties.
Police say the man agreed to meet her to return her items. At the time of their meeting, he brought the items and she brought the police.
“Luis,” subsequently identified as Loja, was arrested on charges of burglary, destruction of property, and theft.

Lanham, MD – Antoinette Starks, 55, was arrested Tuesday morning in the parking lot of the local Target after she allegedly stabbed a female shopper who was loading purchases into her car. When police arrived, they found the victim in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds. Starks was also in the parking lot. She was said to be holding knives that she had stolen earlier from a nearby store.
Police said Starks ignored their requests to drop the knives and continued walking through the parking lot. She was promptly tazed and taken into custody.
Police said Starks – a schizophrenic who, among other things, suffers from a paranoid fear of white people – had recently been released from a psychiatric facility into a group home. This after Administrative Law Judge Una M. Perez declared that Starks has been free of symptoms of her mental disorder since at least May 2007. Citing a doctor’s opinion, Perez – along with her recommendation of a group home – ordered that Starks take her medications as prescribed, not possess weapons, and ‘abide by other conditions.’
Hmmm… I wonder how she did on abiding by those other conditions…
Interestingly, Starks had been placed in the psychatric facility in the first place after chasing – and then stabbing – two women at the Nordstrom in the Westfield Montgomery Mall in 2005.…

ARBUTUS, Md. – Police have arrested a woman in connection to the bleach attack that occurred in the aisles of a Maryland Walmart on Saturday morning.
Theresa Monique Jefferson, 33, got into an argument with her baby’s daddy’s new girlfriend and followed her into a Walmart where she assaulted the woman.
Once Jefferson had the victim on the ground, she began grabbing bleach and ammonia products off the shelves and pouring the liquids on top of the other woman.
Aside from it sucking to have any of the two chemicals poured on you, both of them together is even worse, creating toxic fumes that sent a handful of customers and employees to the hospital.
After police, firefighters and hazardous materials crews arrived at the store, they made the decision to evacuate it and keep it that way until the mess could be cleaned up.
Fire officials said 19 people had to be taken to the hospital for treatment, including one suffering from a serious eye injury. Jefferson was arrested and charged with charged with first- and second-degree assault, theft under $100 and malicious destruction of property.…

TOWSON, Md. – Teonna Brown, the 19-year-old woman who was captured on video beating a transgendered woman silly inside a Maryland McDonald’s, has plead guilty to first-degree assault and to a hate crime.
For those of you who were unaware of this story, Chrissy Polis, a 22-year-old transgendered woman, was inside a McDonald’s when she was attacked by Brown and Brown’s 14-year-old friend.
While restaurant employees stood around and watched, one even filming the entire event, Polis had the crap beat out of her as she was punched, kicked and dragged through the store by her hair.
The only person who tried to help Polis was Vicki Thoms, who was in the restaurant. She was punched by one of the girls for her efforts.
Thinking the entire event was hilarious, the employee filming while providing giddy commentary, posted his video online and within no time the video went viral.
If she gets the maximum sentence on both charges, Brown (who you can see here) could be looking at 35 years behind bars.…

CLINTON, MD – Police had to shoot and kill an American Bull Dog the other morning after it jumped on a school bus and began attacking the children inside.
Prince George’s County police officials say the dog chased a kid onto the bus and began attacking him. When the kid ran off the bus, the bus driver did as well in an attempt to get the bulldog off of the boy. The kid ran back onto the bus only to have the dog follow him on again.
Some of the kids tried to push the dog away or kick him in the face. When a second kid ran off the bus, the dog followed and attack him. ”I didn’t know what to do. I was running to the car, so I could get in, so I wouldn’t get bit, but he bit me,” said Mikhail.
By this time police and fire officials had arrived on the scene and the dog began attacking them. When the dog began attacking another kid who had just been dropped off at the bus stop, an officer pulled the dog away and shot it. ”They shot him one time,” said Mikhail, “He was still breathing.…

BALTIMORE, MD – A 66-year-old woman is in critical condition after police say her 14-year-old grandson played a game of whack-a-mole on her head with a hammer.
Police say Hassanhii Garrett attacked his grandmother on Thursday morning as he was getting ready for school. After the attack, he called 911. Responding officers found her face-down on the floor in a pool of blood. The woman put up a hell of a fight as evident by the blood found on the floor, walls, furniture, and in the hallway between the bedroom and the bathroom.
Garrett told investigators that he beat the woman unconscious with a hammer because he was tired of how she was treating him. So after eating breakfast he retrieved a hammer and struck her in the head while she was sleeping, then struck her with his fists when she tried to get away. Despite a court official stating the woman had been released from the hospital, police said on Friday that she’s is currently in the hospital in critical condition.…

Bethesda, MD – I hadn’t even heard of this story until today. It started on March 12 when the manager of a Lululemon Athletica arrived to open the store. Inside he found one of his employees, 30-year-old Jayna Murray, beaten and stabbed to death. Her co-worker, 27-year-old Brittany Norwood, was bound and injured, but still alive.
Norwood told police that she and Murray had returned to the store after closing to retrieve a wallet Norwood had left behind. They were followed inside by two men in masks wearing gloves who raped and beat them before leaving them for dead. Police are now saying that is all a load of crap and late yesterday, police arrested Norwood and charged her with murdering Murray.
Norwood’s story was shaky to begin with, but was initially chalked up to just being a stressed out victim of a violent crime. But the more police investigated, and the more the forensic results came back, the more the evidence pointed away from two unknown assailants and right back at Norwood.…
