Rachelle Braaten Arrested After Letting Her Toddler Smoke Pot From Bong

CENTRALIA, WA - Rachelle Braaten, a 24-year-old idiot in Washington, was arrested after video captured her letting her 22-month-old take a hit from a bong.
In the video, you can see Braaten offer the lit bong to the boy who briefly sticks his face on top of the lit bong while other morons in the room start laughing.
When police interviewed Braaten, she reportedly told detectives, “Well, it was like, you can’t see in the camera, but the person taking it, and then there was like a group of people there. And I guess it was a joke and stupid mistake that wasn’t really funny.”
Braaten says she feels “horrible” about the incident. “He’s two and he shouldn’t have known about that,” Braaten said. “He shouldn’t have that in his body.”
Rachelle Braaten was arrested and charged with manufacture of marijuana and delivery of a controlled substance to a minor. She is in jail on a $5000 bail.
The boy’s father was also arrested after police found firearms and 40 marijuana plants inside the couple’s home.…

Malverne, NY – The parents of a 17-year-old boy who crashed his car and killed four of his friends back in October are now being charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle for allowing him to drive without a valid driver’s license.
On October 8th, 17 year old Joseph Beer was driving with his four 17-18 year old friends as passengers. Around 3:40 am, he was doing about 110 mph when he lost control of his vehicle on a stretch of road called “Dead Man’s Curve.” The car flew into the woods and split in two after hitting a tree. Chris Khan, Peter Kanhai and Darian Ramnarine, all 18, and Neal Rajapa, 17, were all killed in the crash, none of whome were wearing their seatbelt. Joseph was wearing a seat belt and survived.
He is now facing 25 years in prison after being charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter in the first degree, four counts of manslaughter in the second degree, and a whole host of other charges that are just different configurations of the words manslaughter, degree and reckless. The driving while intoxicated charge is creating a bit of a stir because he had not been drinking, but did have marijuana in his system.…

LESLIE COUNTY, KY – Here’s another story out of Kentucky, this one concerning a family tree yielding large quantities of idiot fruit.
Police say a woman and her daughter were arrested after allegedly taking pictures of two toddlers playing with marijuana, including pictures of the children with joints in their mouths.
Police were alerted to the photos after relatives of the children took the images to a company to be developed. The children’s grandmother, 51-year-old Beth Ann Hensley, returned to the store later to have the order cancelled, but it was too late. Instead of taking the photos with her, she left without them.
This made it real easy for police to see what the store employees had called them after processing the photos. In the pics, two young boys, ages 1 and 4, can be seen with joints in their mouths while an adult holds a lighter as if to light it. Other photos show the boys handling marijuana buds while others were just of marijuana.
Leslie County sheriff’s Deputy Adrian Cornett went to the children’s home accompanied by child welfare workers where authorities removed five children, aged between one and seven, and placed them with a relative. Police would find 24 marijuana plants around the children’s grandmother’s home, including marijuana in a plastic bag.…

Minneapolis, MN – Rebecca Rachelle Hill, 37, was arrested with her daughter on October 12th while reportedly shoplifting from a Macy’s store in Mall of America.
She allegedly attempted to give officers false identification information, but was outed when her fingerprints were run against a police database.
Once authorities were able to make contact with Hill’s daughter’s father, he told them that the girl and her mother had been driving around in a vehicle stolen from a relative and smoking marijuana and heroin for the past few weeks. The father knew this because he had previously taken his daughter, who had been going through withdrawal, to the hospital where she tested positive for both heroin and marijuana. The girl had also been depressed and cutting herself on the wrists and thighs.
When faced with this wealth of information, Hill reportedly admitted to purchasing the drugs for her daughter as well as doing them with her, about three times per day, supposedly in an effort to keep the girl from suffering further withdrawal symptoms. The police totally saw the logic in this excuse, gave her a pat on the back for being a kick-ass mom and sent her on her way with her sleepy-eyed daughter.…

WEST COVINA, CA – Police in California are looking for two ninjas who chased after a man and stole his weed.
The man was on a “medical marijuana delivery” Friday night when he was approached by two men dressed as ninjas.
They began chasing after the man while wielding batons, causing the victim to drop his bag of pot and an undisclosed amount of money. The two ninjas picked up the items and disappeared in a puff of smoke fled on foot.
Sgt. Travis Tibbets of the West Covina Police Department says the two suspects are still at large and described as being in their 20s, around 5 feet 8 inches, thin and wearing black ninja costumes.…

LOUISVILLE, KY – Police say 10 to 11 students at Eastern High School consumed pot-laced brownies a fellow student had brought to school.
Now some parents are outraged that their angels, who were allegedly unaware the brownies contained marijuana, have been suspended along with the student who brought the tainted treats.
“I am furious,” said Crystal Fuller, a parent whose child is one of the suspended students. ”I feel like, how do you penalize a victim? Why weren’t the police called? Why wasn’t an ambulance called? Why wasn’t anything done except for, ‘we’re going to suspend your kid?’”
The principal said there was no need for an ambulance and that an on-site retired nurse helped the stoned students. The school district confirmed that 10 students have been suspended for eating the brownies, although there is no word if all the students who ate the brownies were aware of the extra ingredient beforehand.
The student who made the brownies is one of the students suspended but could also face criminal drug charges as a juvenile.…

Los Angeles, CA – An idiot from California was arrested after he smoked some weed on a Jet Blue flight headed to New Jersey.
As the plane was approaching Newark Liberty International Airport, a flight attendant knocked on the bathroom door and asked 43-year-old Adam Blumenkranz to return to his seat. When he emerged, the attendant smelled a strong odor of pot.
After getting off the plane, Blumenkranz was greeted by police at the gate where he informed them that there was no problem, that he had a medical marijuana card that allowed him to smoke pot on a commercial jet.
After showing the police his bag of weed and the glass pipe he used to smoke it, he was promptly arrested and charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.…

Jacksonville, FL — Troy Howell, 29, was taken into custody Wednesday after a drug bust not only revealed an “elaborate” grow station in his mobile home, but a teen chained to a mattress, as well.
The teen, Howell’s 18-year-old nephew, reportedly told police his uncle kept him chained up in a padlocked room to prevent him from running off and telling authorities about the grow operation.
“A really heavy linked chain ran through the floor — it’s a mobile home — tied to an axle under the house and ran up and it chained him around his neck to keep him from running away” said Chief Investigator Chuck Brannan, of the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the teen had marks on his neck, a black eye, and various bumps and bruises on his head, shoulders and back. It wasn’t all bad, though…the kid apparently had some sort of doorbell within reach to alert someone when he needed to use the restroom or grab a bite to eat.
Howell, the teen’s supposed guardian, had the wrong kid chained up – it was actually another one of his young charges that turned him in….…

New Haven, CT — Hope Bradie was arrested Monday after police say her 5-year-old daughter was seen in the emergency room for “internal irregularities” due to the ingestion of PCP.
Brodie told hospital staff the child ingested the remnants of a batch of “wet” – marijuana laced with PCP. Seems Brodie had cooked up a batch for personal use the day before and neglected to clean up after herself…a relative unknowingly used the same pot to prepare noodles for the child.
After ingesting the noodles, the child got all kinds of hyper and distracted. She reportedly began pointing to her face, exclaiming that she had four noses.
Though the child is still hospitalized, police say she is in stable condition. The girl’s father told police he has sole custody of the child, but he occasionally allows visits with Brodie.
Brodie, 26, was arraigned on child endangerment charges Tuesday and is now free on $2,500 bond. Police say she has previous convictions for assault and larceny, but no drug-related offenses.…

Farmington, Conn – We post about some real stupid people on this site, but rarely do we get stories featuring the level of dumb as Robert J. Michelson. The man waited until after he spent a good amount buying items to grow marijuana before calling 911 to ask them for legal advice. He wanted to know if what he was doing was illegal. You can listen to the call here, but this is the transcript of the call he made last Thursday evening:
Dispatcher: 911, what’s your emergency?
Michelson: Uh, let’s not get into that yet.
Dispatcher: If it’s not an emergency you don’t call 911 sir.
Michelson: Well, I have a legal question.
Dispatcher: Is it life threatening or an active crime in progress?
Michelson: Crime in progress possibly.
Dispatcher: What’s going on?
Michelson: I was just growing some marijuana and I was just wondering what, how much trouble you can get in for one plant.
Dispatcher: You’re growing marijuana and you want to know…depends on how big the plant is?…
Covina, California — Two girls, ages 10 and 11, were hospitalized on Monday after eating some cookies laced with marijuana.
When the girls came home from school on Monday, they found a baggie on the kitchen counter with a chocolate chip cookie inside. Covina police Lt. Tim Doonan told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that the girls felt ill, complaining of numbness and pale, clammy skin. They were both taken to the hospital where they showed traces of marijuana.
Their mother, 33-year-old Veronica Sylvester, was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment. She remains jailed today on $100,000 bail. Sylvester told detectives she got the cookie from a friend for medical purposes. Doonan says Sylvester has no prescription for the drug.
When are people going to learn that sharp objects and drugs need to be kept out of reach of children? Of course kids are going to eat cookies they find on the counter. The article does not say if the girls were released from the hospital, but common sense tells me their symptoms have since passed and they are probably doing just fine.…

Cincinnati, OH – You remember Jessica Gamble, don’t you? We featured her back in September after authorities got their hands on some cell phone video of Gamble’s 2-year-old daughter smoking a joint. She’s been sentenced to to six months in jail with four months time served.
Gamble pleaded guilty in November to charges of corrupting another with drugs and tampering with evidence. A child endangering charge against her was dismissed. Before sentencing on Friday, Gamble admitted to making a mistake and told the judge she wanted to be reunited with her daughter. And she will be…once she finishes her sentence and jumps through a few judicial hoops.
When she is released from her cage, Gamble must complete a six-month training program consisting of parenting classes, job preparedness and drug awareness. She will also spend an additional three months training at a rehab facility. After all that is behind her, she may then be reunited with her daughter, who remains in the custody of a relative. Once she’s jumped through those hoops, she must then serve two years of probation.…

Las Vega, NV – A 15-year-old student at Spring Valley High School is facing a reckless endangerment charge after he allegedly provided the substance known as Spice to a 14-year-old girl while walking to school. Unfortunately for the boy, he picked a chick who couldn’t hold her smoke; having to be taken to the hospital after suffering from some troubling symptoms in her first period science class. “Just vomiting, in and out of consciousness. Couldn’t speak. Couldn’t communicate. Just out there, gone” said her stepfather. While the boy who gave her the stuff was taken to a juvenile detention facility, the girl may be facing consequences as well. The product is legal (read the Wiki for a detailed explanation of what it is) but is only supposed to be sold to people over the age of 18. It’s also sold as incense and not for human consumption. Cincinnati, OH — A woman is facing felony charges after being arrested for allegedly giving pot to her three young kids, ages 7, 4, and 1. Valerie Cecil, 25, was charged with three counts of corruption with drugs after the 7-year-old told her counselor at school that she had been forced to smoke pot. Tests were performed on all three children and all were found to have marijuana in their system. While the test cannot determine if the pot got into their system through ingestion or contact, court documents filed by Officer Dana Jones say Cecil “did recklessly administer a controlled substance” on Sept. 1 to the three children. One of Cecil’s neighbors told reporters that she has also tried to give alcohol to underage kids in the apartment complex. This story completes the trifecta of brain dead, pot smoking mothers — the other two being the mom in the“bong baby” story and Jessica Gamble, the chick who recorded her 2-year-old smoking pot. Cecil was arrested and the released the same day on her own recognizance without posting any money.…

Huntington Beach, CA – Some kids got their hands on some cookies laced with pot and now a man may be facing criminal charges. When an 11-year-old boy arrived home from school he found some cookies sitting on the counter that had been given to the boy’s stepfather by a neighbor. After he and two of his friends ate some of the cookies, they went to a nearby park to play, but all returned home after becoming sick. The three lethargic kids were taken to the hospital suffering from headaches and uncontrollable nausea. When the neighbor, 40-year-old Jason Davis, learned of the boys ingesting the cookies he immediately went to the hospital to let the parents know the kids were ok, they were just extremely high. No charges have been filed yet, but Davis could face distribution and contributing charges. What I would like to know is if Davis gave the stepfather the cookies but didn’t tell him what was in them, or if the stepfather knew what was in them and merely forgot he left them on the counter.…

MATTHEWS, NC – Here’s a story out of North Carolina that will probably drive Athena insane. A couple were arrested and charged with drug possession after their 11-year-old took a couple of their joints to school and turned them in. Matthews Police say the kid snitched on his parents after a lesson about marijuana was delivered by a police officer in the D.A.R.E. program. Both the 40-year-old father and 38-year-old mother were arrested, charged with two misdemeanor counts each of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The child, along with a sibling, where removed from the home and placed in the care of relatives. The dad told reporters that he doesn’t give drugs to his kids but told them it was none of their business when he was asked he got a hold of the drugs in the first place. I get that possessing pot is illegal. I also get that some will consider these parents as average pot smokers and why the legalization of marijuana is bad idea…but how many of you leave your cigarettes on the table, or your alcohol in the fridge?…

Fort Myers, FL - According to authorities, Ryan Costello and Whitney Simonson dropped their two young children off with relatives Saturday night and headed out to a club. Later that evening, Ryan returned to the relative’s home, alone, and picked up the children. Ryan’s mother later told investigators that when he picked up the boys, he appeared “visibly shaken and emotional.” At about 2:00 a.m., Whitney returned home from the club with a male friend named Vadam Manafov. And at that point, the proverbial shit hit the proverbial fan. So far, we are only hearing one side of the story, and it’s coming from Whitney. According to her, a fight broke out shortly after she and Vadam made their entrance. Vadam was briefly involved in the fight, but soon left – leaving Whitney and Ryan behind. Reason #1: This last week, John White stole two cell phones from a convenience store. Reason #2: White accidentally left a slip of paper with an address written on it. Reason #3: White later flags down a police car and asks for directions to the address on the said paper. The officer he flagged down just happened to be on his way to check that same address for a lead on the robbery. When the officer noticed John White matched the description a store clerk gave of the thief, White was arrested. The officer found both of the stolen phones on White as well as a small amount of marijuana. Police say charges are pending. Weehawken, NJ- Two men from Tennessee, who could possibly be relatives of Gomer Pyle, were driving through the Lincoln Tunnel last Friday morning when Port Authority cops pulled them over for a missing a license plate. When an officer asked the driver, 41-year old Donald Martin West, for his license, West handed it over along with a a Tennessee gun permit. The officer asked West why he gave him a gun permit and West responded, “I got a gun on me.” then, cheerfully added, “In the small of my back.” Stunned over West’s honesty, the officer delved further and asked if he had anything else on him, to which West replied, “Yes. There’s a bag of weed and some pipes.” Not stopping there, West also admitted he had handcuffs, hollow-point bullets and an extra gun magazine. When the officer asked the passenger, 23-year old Troy Davis, if he had anything in the vehicle he wanted to admit, Davis pointed to the car’s ashtray and said, “There’s two blunts in the ashtray.” …
